If you want to try saving a little bit of money, I know that sometimes manufacturers will ship out fans for free. I'm not sure if they would for a card that's two generation old, though.

Hm, maybe you have to update the BIOS before you can use it. Which version are you running?
AsRock just released a new one last month: https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/AB350M Pro4/index.asp#BIOS

The server is free, but some applications (that you can use to access the server) cost money. You can use other free applications to access the server, and in some cases you don't need anything (for example a smart tv will just work)

    See https://support.plex.tv/articles/200350536-dlna/ and see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UPnP_AV_media_servers_and_clients#UPnP_AV_clients

you could just try it out ... download virtualbox and install windows 10 in a virtual pc (you can leave win 10 in evaluation mode)  and then setup the media server ... this way you won't affect your pc's functionality in any way until you're sure about it.

Just set yourself up as a UPnP DLNA server, either nativity through windows (though this can be hit and miss) or with a dedicated server program.
There are a whole host of clients and servers for any kind of device you can think of, and some of the native windows stuff even works.

A FTP server is really easy to set up. On Windows, there's Filezilla FTP server which takes minutes to set up ... with gigabit network cards, you're transferring files at 100+ MB/s so it doesn't take long for a file to download. Web browsers generate folder listing for ftp addresses automatically.

You can access everything from a browser, you simply say ftp://ip  or ftp://userame:pass@ip  (you can bookmark it in your browser) and use save as to dowload the file locally.
Music and some content (mp4 files mostly) you can probably play directly if a player is smart enough, for example drag the link into the video player and the player will stream (for mkv files the player may try to buffer a big chunk of it or dowload it completely in order to give you seek capability, mp4 files have seek info at the start most of the time)

Mauricio G. B. got a reaction from suchamoneypit in RX 480 Devil 8gb from PowerColor Terrible card!
So last Year i bought an RX 480 8GB Devil from Powercolor, and boy oh boy it was filled with troubles, Terrible cooling, despite having the largest aside the Strix version

in Short, the videocard had a Metal Backplate to act as "support" and was told by powercolor themselves not to remove it, turns out that shit traps heat radiating from the back of the hard overheating components
thus crashing (giving a black screen) even with the gpu die itself being at a healthy 70c

so well, i simply removed every fucking piece of metal aesthetic bs and the card dropped from 72 (with fans at 65%) to 60c! while gaming heavily in OC mode (1330mhz) i even ramped the fans down to 55% and it stays constatly at 70c,

Avoid Powercolor Cards, this isnt the first one ive seen like this,
i bought it new from amazon.com for 220$, and returned it once, recieved another shitty card performance is great, is just that the card/cooling is crap

Seems like you may have just picked a bad design each time...Like MSI's Armor brand, really bad overall, should only be bought as a last resort.

Though for AMD cards sapphire is usually a good bet.

Hell they had one of the most fun 390Xs around.

the 4870X2 performs about the same as a GTX 750, so yes, it will outperform the R7 IGPU, a really REALLY Cheap Gaming build, would be the Following

    AMD Athlon X4 965 (the AM4 variant)
Thermaltake ContacSilent12 (super cheap towercooler compatible with AM4) oc the fuck out of amd
Literally Any B350 Motherboard (consider the ones with VRM coolers for OC)
    any 8gb Ram (2400+ recomended)
    RX 550-560 or GTX 1050-1050ti
    Any 500w bronze psu
    any tower casse
    any hdd/ssd combo

eh, i have no idea, but ive had both cards (well i had 2 4870s) and the games ran about the same, the thing is that if crossfire isnt supported it will be outperformed, i suggest just building a whole new system

Some newer AMD boards even have USB 3.1 and other cool things that Intel has shown off.
The AMD 8350 was really ahead of its time IMO. At that time games were optimised for quads, not 8 cores. Now, as more and more and more games use threads and cores efficiently, the 8350 is becoming a good budget option when head to head with like an i3 or older i5 in some games.

lmao, well, putting it that way, it is worth taking your build, i would usually recomend AMD, but.... sadly its really not an option anymore right now i can use  my pc to stream and play demanding games with the 8350 without losing performance, but,  with ryzen comming so soon is not worth buying an AM3+ system RN

Pretty much.. 8350 is still a good processor if you can get it used cheap, power consumption is a little bit high compared to 65/95W Intel parts but the architecture is serviceable and overclocks pretty well (depending on mobo). No upgrade path though.
