  1. I would like to cool my r9 280x. It is a non-reference MSI twin frozr edition but I read that it has a reference board. I looked on the website but there were many models and I found one that the only last number was different. Do you think I could use that?
  2. I have an MSI r9 280x. I do not want to buy another one because of the cost. However the 270x looks like a good card. I am pretty sure they can crossfire with each other but I am not positive. Also, do you think those two cars could drive 4k. The 3gb ram on the r9 280x will not be a problem because when directx 12 comes out you will be able to combine the ram amounts but could it drive the resolution?
  3. I would like to run linux and windows because I like osx (it is based off of linux) but don't have a hackintosh. Also, how would I make a default os (windows) I have a new MSI board.
  4. Need a new laptop for architectural design work. 13 inch laptop will be fine because I will have it connected to an external monitor when i'm at home. Is this good. http://www.amazon.com/Zenbook-UX303LN-DB71T-Quad-HD-Display-Touchscreen/dp/B00KTL21RA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1423769675&sr=8-2&keywords=asus+zenbook
  5. I have a dell vostro (not sure the year but it is running win 7). I would like to convert this into a server PC. How should I go about doing this?

  7. If it stops when you leave the window, stay in the window. If that doesn't work, there might be something wrong with your account.
  8. Have you overclocked the GPU? If so turn it back down. It might not be running stable.
  9. Thanks for the suggestion man. Appreciate it.
  10. So I am using a small case from my old budget build that I upgraded. I now have a R9 280X and a core i7. I was originally going to watercool the CPU only but then I thought it would be smart to watercool the GPU since it is a Radeon and it gives off a lot of heat and the CPU is non overclockable. I decided to cool both. But on my case the only place I could have the pump radiator and resevoir is on the outside which would be a pain and be ugly. Looking for a good case that can handle a custom loop. $75 - $125 range. only a mAtx mobo so it's not huge. Thanks.
  11. I have a small micro atx case because my PC was originally a budget build but I decided to splurge after I bought the case. Anyway I have no room for a resevoir or radiator inside the case however my case has dual 120mm fan mounts on the side so I could put my radiator and fans on the outside. Any ideas for cooling solution. Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147166
  12. Depends what game he is playing. This has happened to me in some games. Don't think it is a monitor problem though.
  13. I don't think that the slot would be affected because you are running that 280x in the same slot and it is running fine (assumption). If you aren't running it in the same slot than I would put it in the slot that the 980 was in and if it doesn't work than the slot is damaged. Also, if your wife and son were getting blue screens it was probably something with their systems or the card. About the PSU, it looks like that PSU is more than big enough to run your system even when it's hella overclocked. However, anything could be faulty. The metallic smell is actually common when people get their 980 over 70C and it is just new card smell even though the card has been used.
