I've been feeling a little the same way - although I actually do enjoy some of the off-the-wall stuff they do (such as a camping lan party), just because it's unique and different. Having said that, it's gotten to the point that if I see at the start of the video, "Promoted/Sponsored by X" I lose all interest and close the video.

Not because I think they're selling out or anything, but I just feel like I'd be watching an ad.

I think at this point I'm leaning towards a bigger NAS and just expanding the drives slowly as I go. From what I hear, Synology's RAID solution lets you have mismatched size disks, so I should be able to upgrade them gradually.

Cheers guys, just wanted to see if there were other thoughts out there

Makes sense, I would suggest maybe going with a bigger and more powerful NAS device first and maybe 1 extra drive to hold you over a for a bit until you can save up and then swap out all the drives for bigger drives.

If you're willing to do just a little fiddling you can easily setup a SAMBA share on a linux box in maybe an hour tops, that includes setting up Linux as well. Once it's setup and working you don't have to touch it at all but of course the downside is lack of GUI if you go with CLI based linux.

SwedishStyle got a reaction from kachel94 in New Platform Launch Feedback & FAQ
After reading through all these posts, I pretty much seem to have the same gripes as most others. However, I do realize that it is a nascent platform currently, and will (hopefully) improve and address its issues in time.

My only concern is that, unless LMG is going to end up making a reasonable amount of revenue from this platform, it may have been a little early to make this big of a push - a 7 day lag to youtube would be fine and dandy... if there were quality controls on Vessel, if there was a mobile app with chromecast support, etc. At the moment, it is a bit of a (pretty) downgrade.

That said, fingers crossed that the Vessel devs listen to gripes and work fast to fix them Good luck to all involved and I hope this works out, and/or gives YouTube the competition and kick up the kiester it sorely needs!

When I got my first computer, all I did with it was draw things in paint (naturally). One day I couldn't save any more paintings because I had no space left on the disk (it was like a 1gb drive or something running windows 95). I had a hunt around for things to delete - "oh, what's this Windows folder? Full of junk, lets get rid of that!"
It still worked after that! A lot of things broke, but it booted and ran surprisingly!
