  1. I've been feeling a little the same way - although I actually do enjoy some of the off-the-wall stuff they do (such as a camping lan party), just because it's unique and different. Having said that, it's gotten to the point that if I see at the start of the video, "Promoted/Sponsored by X" I lose all interest and close the video. Not because I think they're selling out or anything, but I just feel like I'd be watching an ad.
  2. Rig name: The Beast Cpu: Intel Core i5-6400 Gpu: Gigabyte Windforce Radeon HD 7970 3GB Ram: 16GB Corsair 1066MHz DDR4 Score: 1.3 Although I really don't have any VR plans and I've been rocking this card for 2.5yrs now, so I really didn't expect it to pass much muster Just as a side note - I'd suggest that either have an opt in for the 'My system' part of everyone's profile to be collated in a database and use that for future analysis (obviously could be out of date if people don't update, but it's better than nothing), or have a form where people can enter their specs manually (also into a database for querying and analysis). Would probably be easier to find patterns, make pretty graphs, etc. than a poll and a whole lotta text. Just my 2c
  3. After reading through all these posts, I pretty much seem to have the same gripes as most others. However, I do realize that it is a nascent platform currently, and will (hopefully) improve and address its issues in time. My only concern is that, unless LMG is going to end up making a reasonable amount of revenue from this platform, it may have been a little early to make this big of a push - a 7 day lag to youtube would be fine and dandy... if there were quality controls on Vessel, if there was a mobile app with chromecast support, etc. At the moment, it is a bit of a (pretty) downgrade. That said, fingers crossed that the Vessel devs listen to gripes and work fast to fix them Good luck to all involved and I hope this works out, and/or gives YouTube the competition and kick up the kiester it sorely needs! Party on Garth

  5. Looks like I didn't really explain clearly - it didn't turn on when the new monitors were plugged in. However, everything else plugged into the same powerboard worked fine. I know it's not an electrical problem with my house wiring In any case, I've replaced the PSU, mobo and CPU to be safe (I use this computer for work purposes) - didn't want to get a new mobo to plug a potentially dodgy PSU into it or vice versa. Didn't really want to upgrade the CPU at the same time, but it was really difficult to find a socket 1155 mobo Not sure what I'm going to do with the (possibly dead?) parts now... Anyone wanna buy a motherboard with cpu?
  6. That is exactly correct. It doesn't matter what I connect or disconnect at this point, nothing will make it power at all.
  7. Hi Guys, I'm at my wits end at this point - I just bought 3 new monitors to replace my ageing ones. I shut everything down, unplugged everything and plugged in the new stuff..... and nothing happened. The power button did nothing at all, not a single fan span up, not a single beep was heard - absolute silence. I quadruple checked that it was actually plugged in and the PSU was actually switched on - still nothing. Hauled the PC out, unplugged everything from it, tried again. Unplugged everything internally except the CPU - still nothing. Shorted the PSU (Green to black) to test if it was the power - heres something interesting. Left the CPU plugged in, nothing happened, the fan didn't spin up and there were no beeps or lights on the motherboard. However, I'd accidentally left my HDD plugged in - which spun up. I don't have access to a multimeter to test the PSU further, but short of that, is there anything anyone else can think of that I can test? Surely a motherboard can't suddenly die from the presence of new monitors.... can it? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
  8. I made my uncle buy a Z1 Tablet earlier this year and he loves it! I've been jealous ever since Every time I see a friend with a Z2 (surpisingly a few of them), I hog it to play with as long as I can - love the display most of all! As for D-Brand, I did buy a skin a few months ago for my current phone. It's just awesome! Great quality and the $3 international shipping just made it a no-brainer, considering those sorts of things usually cost 3x the amount of the product to ship to Australia Thanks Linus/Dbrand
  9. Gotta love that screen - it's just a beautiful thing to behold, despite the contrast issues!
  10. When I got my first computer, all I did with it was draw things in paint (naturally). One day I couldn't save any more paintings because I had no space left on the disk (it was like a 1gb drive or something running windows 95). I had a hunt around for things to delete - "oh, what's this Windows folder? Full of junk, lets get rid of that!" It still worked after that! A lot of things broke, but it booted and ran surprisingly!
  11. Hi guys, just saw Linus' video about this section so I thought I'd give it a go. I have a triple monitor setup running of a Gigabyte HD6950 1GB - problem is, if the monitors turn off (from power saving) or when I reboot, the monitor that is connected with a displayport -> VGA adapter goes haywire and smashes the resolution down to 800x600. The only way to fix this is by unplugging and replugging the monitor in question: Fairly annoying :/ Now, I have a displayport to DVI converter, but it just flat out doesn't seem to work at all. Is it my specific adapter, or has this card been known to have issues on that port? Thanks in advance!
  12. Haha, G'day to you to - Happy ANZAC day! I used to live near an MSY, but I found that Umart tends to almost always beat them on price, and I found out that I lived closer to Umart than MSY after that :P
