  1. What is your current list of parts?
  2. So here is the challenge; Create a list of pc parts that would work as a functioning PC. It DOES NOT have to be well balanced in any way (exp. 100GB IDE Drive and GTX 980). The pricing comes from NewEgg.com only, so no craigslist parts lol. The challenge is to see who has the best score for GPU + CPU (add the two values), found from http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html and www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html The maximum price not including shipping or tax is $500, no not $500.01!
  3. I was wondering if there is any way to flip / invert the screen at a low os or driver level so it applies to everything. What i mean by flip / invert is make the left side the right and the right side the left. I have an amd 7700x card and cant find any such setting in the controll center for amd. Also its connected to a tv through hdmi. The tv doesnt have these settings i checked. Thanks for the help!
  4. Is the 4690k the minimum costing CPU that wouldn't bottleneck the GPUs?
  5. Probably $250 is my max but I want to spend lower if I can
  6. I want to find the cheapest reasonable option so that the cpu won't be a bottleneck.
  7. I am looking to build a new rig, and I plan on picking up a GTX 970 for it. I also plan on adding another one down the road. My question is what CPU should I pick? I prefer Intel over AMD. I am looking to spend as little money as reasonable. I only will be doing gaming on the computer no creative content stuff. I was looking at the 3570k but I want to hear your guys opinions. Edit: I don't care too much about overclocking but if the CPU supports it I will.
  8. Does anyone know how i can reset the card to stock settings / BIOS?
  9. Would it be possible to re-flash the card back to normal?
  10. Well that sucks haha. Thanks for the help, any way i could identify what GPU it really is? Or did they actually make a gpu and just make it named the gtx 650?
  11. I uploaded what GPU-z had to say. It say's its a galaxy edition...? And also for an old 200 or 400 series card, it performs almost identical to the gtx 650 benchmarks of just cause 2 and batman.. so i don't think it's a different card.
  12. I got this gtx 650 2gb card from craigslist. Not sure what brand it is (see pics). I have tried many times to install the latest drivers for it, but it won't work. Heres what happens: the driver starts installing. (windows 7) The computer blue screens midway through installing. (windows 8) The computer restarts after installing the driver. then.... (windows 7) The computer restarts and then blue screens, then restarts, then repeats. (windows 8) The computer restarts, shows the blue screen with the face, and then restarts again. Then it rolls back to before the driver was installed. What i have tried: First off i tried installing it on a fresh install of windows 7, with no other OS on my system. Then i completely wiped windows 7 and installed all other drivers for the computer. Then tried installing the driver. Then i tried windows 8, the same 2 steps above. Then i tried doing the driver install the manual way (device manager > GPU > update driver > select extracted driver stuff > same result on BOTH OS's! THEN i tried installing an older version of the driver, (one step down) same result I continued going one step down the list of drivers for the GPU on Nvidia's website (re-installing the OS with each go, and installing all other drivers) Same result, even with the beta drivers Until i got to 337.88, and it worked! I then was stupid enough to try and update my driver through geforce experiance, same blue screen result. Wiped OS and installed windows 8, installed drivers, installed 337.88 and it works. The problem is this driver is old and has strange issues with DirectX For example, when i try to play Alien Isolation, the game fails to start and says that no directX card was found. Not all games do this, just a few. Batman Arkham origins works, Banished, Kerbal Space Program, Minecraft, Just Cause 2 all work. BTW they run as expected for the 650, i looked up benchmarks for the games and they were about the same as they play on my 650. NOTE that i do have the latest version of DirectX installed. I am at my wits end here! If anyone can help me that would be greatly appreciated! Here are my computer specs: Lenovo H430 UPGRADED UPGRADED GPU Gtx 650 2GB UPGRADED PSU 550w (Can't remember the brand) i5-3330 8GB RAM 1TB HDD Attached are pics of the gpu, i can't find the model or the maker anywhere on it, or even online. And the guy i purchased it from is no help. It says Nvidia on the card, but it doesn't look like the reference design.
