If they could somehow modernize the look of this, that would be one cool looking card.

Mew got a reaction from Darkseth in Iphone 7 vs S7 Edge vs M10
The iPhone 7 is meant to go up against the S8 of next year. HTC has a pretty poor record lately and doesn't really have much money to compete with Samsung to deliver a flagship that is well rounded and complete. I recommend both the S7 and the S7E. As many reviews have shown, they are the best phones that money can buy. The battery life is excellent too (I had to factory reset mine to get good battery life; almost doubled).  I have the Verizon snapdragon S7.

Here's a sad fact: most Android phones aren't able to stream hd in Netflix.

How do I do quotes on mobile?
PowerColor R9 290X PCS+ 4GB; original reference version factory clocked at 1030Mhz Uber clocks, and with the fan allowed to spin up to 100% to prevent throttling

They're testing an overclocked card that sounds like a leaf blower resulting in a biased result.

GALAX GTX 970 EXOC 4GB, GALAX factory clocks (1164MHz/7010MHz with 1430MHz boost on this sample), supplied by GALAX

Why are they testing an overclocked 970?

There are so many things wrong with their testing methodology: they wanted to show the difference between launch drivers in 2013 but neglected to test the titles on the same versions. They should be tested onaunxh versions of the game if they were lazy or current versions and old vs new drivers. They should be testing with a faster cpu to minimize bottlenecking, heck they even said that the difference in cpu used would impact the scores.
    .
Testing Differences between 2013 and now
Although we tested the same games at the same settings, our testing platform has changed fromWindows 7 to Windows 10 which should make for only potentially slight differences in performance which can fall under “benching noise”, or margin of error; and we are using a slightly faster CPU now as we have upgraded from Ivy Bridge’s i7-3770K at 4.5GHz to the Devil’s Canyon i7-4790K at 4.4GHz which will only slightly affect CPU-dependent benchmarks. And of course, game patches and updates will also make for larger potential performances differences which reflect playing the game then versus now.  However, the relative performance of our 3 featured video cards will be similar, and our results should be very close.

Similar is not good enough. It's like testing the AMD system with 16gb of ram and the other with 8gb of ram. The results shouldn't be affected by the lack of ram so "the results should he very close". This is not good enough, especially in a test where every little change is important.

I don't like seeing flawed testing but I guess I should be getting used to this because some of the more well known publications also have flawed testing.

I've yet to use it, but I imagine it's the same case as TouchID. When it came out, it was really good but people discounted it. Now, it's a necessary feature.

They run cooler but output more heat; it doesn't magically disappear. Because of thermodynamics, the rest of your system will run a little warmer.

To the OP: Honestly it doesn't matter which one you pick because the performance that you get is identical. I can hardly recognize a 20% performance difference, let alone a  5% difference. Get the one the looks the best and is on sale.

Neither comes with a heatsink. The difference is you get a retail box and a three year warranty with the boxed 6600k. OEM's like Dell, HP, etc buy the tray parts to save $1.

This. Overclockable Skylake processors don't come with a stock hsf. Also don't discount the $1 saving. 100,000 of these processors would mean a $100,000 saving for an OEM.

So basically, once Verizon and Samsung stop rolling out updates, If I want to continue to use an updated version of Android, I will lose Samsung Pay. That is messed up.

The 6s and the s7 are both great phones and you can't go wrong with either. The 6s would be really easy for you to upgrade to like you said. I myself use a 5s currently and will most likely upgrade to the s7 because of my positive experience  with the Note5 a month ago.

Mew got a reaction from RexinOridle in DX 12 performance increase comes at a cost
In Tomshardware's Ashes of the Singularity testing, they found that power consumption goes up when running in DX 12 mode, with the R9 390X being the biggest offender.

However, running in DX 12 mode does result in less CPU power draw, although pretty minor.

I wonder if this is an early driver issue causing this or just the fact that unlocking the 390x and presumably 390's performance causes them to consume even more power. One interesting thing to note is that the GeForce cards draw slightly less power than the rated TDP's on nvidia's website. 980ti is rated at 250W but draws 225W and 980 is rated at 165W and draws 159W.
