  1. They claim it's good enough for VR, but in reality, you need 2 980ti for a good enough vr experience, with more gpu power being even better to drive the higher resolution displays that we desperately need for VR.
  2. You do realize that memory clock speed means almost nothing right? It's the memory bandwidth that is important. And as someone else has mentioned, AMD has released some of the specs of the 480. http://www.anandtech.com/show/10389/amd-teases-radeon-rx-480-launching-june-29th-for-199
  3. Well, the best phone in the world, imo, is the iPhone SE and it happens to be 4", on the Android side it's really hard to find a high end smartphone that has a reasonable screen size.
  4. Unless you're gaming or using navigation on a hot day, using it while charging is fine; you just don't want to create too much heat when you're charging your phone.
  5. These graphics card launches are pretty predictable really. New 490 will perform roughly +/-5% of 1070, 490x will perform roughly =/-5% of 1080. etc etc...
  6. nonononononononononononononononono. The OnePlus X offers similar performance at $200. And the ZenFone 3 is also out, or going to be out. https://www.asus.com/Phone/ZenFone-3-ZE552KL/ http://www.anandtech.com/show/10365/asus-announces-the-zenfone-3-series-with-6-gb-deluxe-model-and-68inch-ultra-model
  7. Why bother trying to liquid cool and overclock your 390 when you can get more performance with a different card?
  8. If it's similar to the Mother's Day deals, then it's usually $100 off for most good phones.
  9. Turning off or disabling features in order for your phone to last longer is the wrong way of doing it. You shouldn't have to compromise how you use your phone in order to get good battery life.
  10. Don't disable any bloatware, leave everything turned on, use wifi as much as possible, use auto brightness.
  11. They're both great phones, the 6s is likely a little faster due to the A9 and SSD as well as better designed apps. Other than that, the S7 has more wins (camera, screen to an extent, contactless payment, etc).
  12. Is this the Snapdragon or the Exynos variant?
  13. There's no way of buying an S7 straight from Samsung in the US, you have to buy it from a carrier with a tramp stamp on it.
  14. Yep, GearVR, Samsung Pay, a better camera. There are just too many to list.
  15. Go for it. 1. Yes, you will notice the higher performance as well as the better screen, battery life, etc 2. TouchWiz is a very functional skin for Android and makes up for the shortcomings (i.e. multi window, splitscreen, etc).
  16. I think it's a rip off. The phone is well over a year old and it only received a minor discount so because it was an ok deal last year, it only gets worse from there. The OnePlus X is offered at a lower price and received a pretty positive review from MKBHD. https://oneplus.net/x I don't like OnePlus but I can't deny the value this phone delivers, especially after their recent price cuts.
  17. I have the S7 which should have the same speakers. The speaker is tinny, and it's also muffled due to the water resistance implementation (a very fine grill or something) so it doesn't sound as good as my 5s that I upgraded from. They're also not as loud, although I don't think that's much of an issue.
  18. It's 100% not true because as more features and capabilities get tacked on, it becomes much harder to run on older hardware, especially with how much each generation of phone performance increases.
  19. I felt like the aluminum on my 5s and the glass on my 4s were pretty grippy, especially compared to the plastic on the GS2 or carbon fiber skins on my 5s. The glass on my S7 is also extremely grippy (I was previously using a carbon fiber skin on my s7 and it was extremely slippery).
  20. You do not want it to come to the US because carrier branding will kill it. Just imagine the dumb check mark on it, it totally ruins it.
  21. Yea, that's true. But my main point is that because the manufacturer doesn't stand behind their statement nor do they cover it under their warranty, it's risky subjecting your phone to water where it probably won't harm it, but it is still possible. So in the event that your phone does become water damaged, you won't be a happy customer. I've owned my water resistant phone for a little over 2 months now and I haven't even let it go near water and don't intend on doing so in the future; it's just not worth it.
  22. Water resistance doesn't mean your phone won't die from water nor does it mean the manufacturer will cover water damage. Because of that, it's completely worthless.
  23. You need to use data/wifi in order to transmit your location. You can try using Google's Device manager however that also shows the notification. You can try disabling notifications for the Samsung location app and see if that solves your issue.
