How long do you reckon this build will max games out ect?
Mew replied to UnbounDxKilleR's topic in New Builds and Planning
1 year? If Async compute is going to be used in every game, then you won't be able to turn that on and thus you can't max the game -
I don't really understand massdrop. This ssd can be had for between $150-$190 usually with free shipping.

I wonder if this will be more reliable than Chromecast 1. The number of times that the apps running on the chromecast crashes is absurd. It also requires a reboot everytime you use it to get a somewhat reliable experience.

Can 2 GTX 980s run GTAV on max settings with 3 1080p/144hz monitors?
Mew replied to mrGOAB's topic in Graphics Cards
You might have to turn off MSAA and even then it might struggle. GTA5 is incredibly demanding on your cpu and gpu. -
Scrapyard Wars Season 3 - With Scrappy Guest Austin Evans!

Checked Vessel only to be disappointed lol. All this anticipation and it's not even on time. -
Good refurbs are generally the best deals that you don't need to look for. I'm sure @Linus can attest to that.

That's more than enough. You'll be fine.

what is the oldest gpu you have "and still working" today ?
Mew replied to 7850OC's topic in Graphics Cards
Radeon HD 3650 Radeon HD 4650 Geforce 9800gt (still in use) -
Now, can you only lose 3% battery or so overnight(8 hours) with nothing turned off and on normal mode? I don't think so. If you're turning off functionality to get acceptable battery life, you're better off getting a feature phone.

Is there any reason to get a AMD CPU?

Maybe only if you want to run several games simultaneously? -
Linus made me try out DSC. I cancelled my subscription after trying out the $6 option. IMO, Gillette's fusion is slightly better.

Welcome to Windows. Have you set your resolution to the highest possible, and set the scaling to 150 or 200%?

Get the 390, you're saving about $100 bucks for better performance. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/463866-us-newegg-powercolor-r9-390-225-arac/

CM Storm Devastator OEM when it's on sale.

Their PCS+ coolers are great but I haven't really heard good things about their customer service. I might need to rma my 7950 with them soon, so I'll see. Great price on the 390 though, although I'd take the 290x for about $30 more when it's on sale.

How do you guys know instantly which video card is better
Mew replied to SwiftXShadow's topic in Graphics Cards
We're enthusiasts, we follow these and eventually, the relative performance becomes second nature. 750ti<290<780ti<390<980<690<295x2 -
Are you by any chance running multiple different resolution monitors in Windows 8? And the other system being one with only 1 monitor? Windows 8 includes a feature that prevents you from accidentally going to your other screen on the corners.

But how is Microsoft able to update any Windows phone, all running similar yet vastly different hardware, yet Google can't do the same?
-
Don't use gpuboss. It's a boss at fabricating numbers rather than actual performance numbers that you will see.

I think they won't lose a lot of publicity because it might draw people to check their website to see if they are indeed selling LoL accounts (I actually went to their site and checked and man was I shocked). lol.......too soon man CLG got demolished.

I would take positive reviews with a grain of salt cause they're largely dominated by fanboys and sponsored/paid reviews. However, do read all the reviews as some positive reviews are form genuine users that are objective. Negative reviews are the most important as it gives you an expectation of the quality of the product and any known issues that the manufacturer chooses to ignore. Edit: Oh and another thing, most people don't leave reviews if the product is working fine, so keep that in mind as well.

I just completed my EVGA. Mailed in the card last thursday, they received it on Friday and I received my new card today. I have yet to test the replacement card as I didn't have time before going to school. The rma process is pretty simple and straight forward. You do have to contact their support to prove that you're having a problem before you're issued an rma number. Once you receive the rma number and instructions, you follow the instructions (packaging instructions are included), pay for your shipping and just drop it in the mail. Then comes the waiting game lol. A simple search engine search yields this.

When you said impressed, I was expecting 60+ fps......
