  1. Would like the Razer Blade. Would like to take my games with me!
  2. I couldn't get youtube to show the settings for hardware acceleration, but I could through Twitch and disabled it and restarted. Didn't work though. This the screen after watching youtube and twitch at the same time. The audio from the stream I was watching still came through but noting happened to the screen.
  3. Update #2: Last week on the 6th my video card fan decided to crap out and basically ending the use for that card. I took it apart to see if I can fix the issue, but the fan bearing is gone and needs replacing. Yesterday, I went to pick up a new Video card. The Club3D royalQueen R9 270X. I put this card in for the first time and boots up normally and updates drivers and does it things and I restart. But since then I've been getting driver crashes and screeches and freezes and sometimes it recovers but most of the time it just locks up. All the lock ups and crashes were during YouTube watching and Twitch stream watching. I've installed 14.4, 14.6 and 14.7 beta drivers. I'll be reverting to 14.2 but I don't see this improving anything. Any suggestions on what to do? or just refund for another card?
  4. Update:I put the card back into slot 1 and it worked fine back in there but still doing the same stuff before. So I'm gonna be replacing the video card for sure and pretty sure I'll have good computer back.
  5. Well my guess would have been at least the 270(X) for the improvement. I'll keep in touch on the day I go out and get it and install it. Thanks for the help though.
  6. The only thing is making me wonder is, what one should I buy? R7 265 or R9 270(X)? These are the only ones that come close enough to the power of the 5870, anything less will be a downgrade spec wise.
  7. No onboard video on this board. And based on what's happening I thought the same thing about the video card. The only real step is putting in a new one and see what happens. That will be happening in a few days, but I want a solid conclusion its that and not a mobo/cpu/ram issue. Just to update the last post. I have Asus Crosshair Formula III, 965 BE, HD5870 AMD gpu, 850W PS, Adata 8GB (2x4) 1333Mhz ram.
  8. To start off, my pc is 4 years old and expected to run into problems. I just want to know the right problem and replace that only part or parts if the price is right. I am limited to about $250-$275 to keep in mind. As the title says, graphical glitches and lockups are randomly making my PC annoying to play games, videos and just surf the net. I have gotten a long beep and 3 short beeps, indicating its a video card ram problem or reseating. I did the reseating 2 times and then I get a black screen the next day. I restarted and get the bios screen and the windows loading and then goes black again, restarted few times and black screen happens and I get the same beep code as before. I have AC, so overheating is not an issue. My only plan is to move the video card into the 2nd pcie slot and it worked in there but I still get the same graphical glitches and lockups. As you see here, this what happens to my main screen while scrolling through FB and mostly always FB. but when FB is on my 2nd screen and scroll, it does the same thing to my main screen with nothing on it but my background image. I do plan on putting video card back in the first slot to see if it runs in there again. So what would be the problem(s)? Do I have more than 1 problem?
  9. I'm reporting back to say that the dedusting, reseating and driver sweeper and reinstall of the drivers didn't fix the problem. I guess I'll save up for a new card or whole new system. Any other suggestions are still welcomed though.
  10. Ok, I'll end up doing all that on the weekend, a reseat with a driver clean up and reinstall, but I might end up doing a dusting to cause its been awhile since its been cleaned. I'll post back with the results. Thanks for the input.
  11. I've been experiencing these bugs while at YouTube and also playing a game. I have a Dell 4x3 20" with DVI plugged in and a 24" Dynex TV and using the HDMI on that. While I start a Video on YouTube, I've been getting this weird flicker of black lines and it was different locations and different thicknesses and it goes away within less then a second. This happens at the beginning and end of the videos on the Dell but doesn't on the Dynex. The Dynex sometimes goes off (dropped signal) and back on but on a less frequent basis. Also when I play games I get this horrible lock up in video freezes and after my game stops producing graphics and locks up with audio stuttering and then all the graphics get released after 10 to 60 seconds go by. (Everything is up to date for the sound and video) With the age of the video card, would it be good thought to buy a new graphics card be a smart idea before this one goes?
  12. I have 2 drives (JBOD), Ones a 150GB Western Digital VelociRaptor boot drive and 500GB Seagate (5 year old hard drive). Just wanted a drive for storage, and wanted a fast boot, so i got the VelociRaptor. Yes! I need to upgrade again soon.
  13. Ok, today i went out and got new cheap memory (2 x 4gb Adata 1333Mhz kit = $60 CAD). also some MX-2 thermal paste and new can of compressed air. I had to remove my CPU heatsink to get the other memory out in A0 slot(closest to the CPU socket) and also to clean that heatsink, cause it needed it. But when I came home after getting the parts, I had memtest running for 6 and half hours with no errors and after I stopped that test and went into windows chain lock up's for about 40 mins try to read your posts and follow YoYo's instructions. I did everything you said and after I started to run Prime95 on blend and after 5 mins, hardware failure and then a lock up. thats when I gave in and started to remove the heatsink and started cleaning and installed the memory. (I think who ever installed my CPU before used way to much compound, it was all over the CPU and on the sides of the CPU heat spreader... smh) So far so good, my CPU is about 12'C cooler and no BSOD or lock up's atm, Right now I'm letting my compound get settled in while my tower is on my desk sideways. Tomorrow I'll start burning in the new ram, Should I do blend prime 95 for couple hours to see what happens? And thanks to YoYo155, xAcid9 and colonel_mortis!
  14. No I have no extra Memory, If I need extra memory I would have to buy it. I have directx 11 and its 13.4. on that note I used a driver sweeper couple days ago and reinstalled 13.4 driver. It has ran memtest for couple hours with out faults or errors, I can do it again just for info though, and I did run third party programs for my hard drives using Western Digital Data Life guard and did extended on both drives. Also to add, I was running Prime95 again on blend and small FFT's and got a blue screen and a non blue screen (screech of death and the display was and messed up like the usual lock up's with screech of death)Only concern is If I buy new memory and find out its the processor or maybe the video card, I'm kinda effed. Here's the new BSOD's 08-09-13(2).zip
