  1. I enjoyed the trash talk between Luke and Linus since the first Scrapyard Wars.
  2. Just remember, every video LTT does won't be there to mystify you and floor you with new information or something that was never done. Despite the negative criticism, LTT has to focus on those who aren't tech savvy and actually, what? Offer Tech Tips?!?!?. There are people out there who are computer illiterate, and this video alone will focus on explaining things to people who search for something they never would have known. Yeah, this video wasn't prime content to those who are tech savvy, but this video does offer a tip to someone who wouldn't have known so. But no, you don't seem like a bad person, I understand your criticism.
  3. I just wanted to put my two cents in here, which I'm sure most people will find abrasive (like the negativity in YouTube comments). There are tons of people who feel intimidated by computers, and all the complexity of it. To some, a laptop or computer is a large buy people saved up for. Not everyone has a dusting GTX 970 laying around when they got groceries to put on the table. So in a way an aging laptop/computer just might be their most used yet expensive household electronic device they'd rather not tinker with. This video explains that it isn't hard to revive it. Now most subscribers who watch LTT videos already feel confident or are knowledgeable in technology and spam the comments with "This isn't helpful," or, "Waste of my time..." and honestly that is disgusting. It's those comments which drive those who AREN'T savvy into believing the computer technology is an impossible dimension. Yet, videos like this are what pull those looking for advice into a realm of what is possible, and not as complicated as one would believe. So when I see comments like, "I'm unsubscribing..." I hope they just do it, least it'll be making the LTT community stronger by getting rid of the weak. /rant
  4. I ended up down the rabbit hole on YouTube and I remember Linus and Luke having a well thought, on the spot, idea this year on the WAN Show. I seemed like a great idea, but not sure if they didn't do anything with it, anyone got any information regarding this? Video should start 32:06 If you don't want to view the video, the idea was to set up multiple VM's to watch YT vids all starting on the same video to see the variable results of play next auto play.
  5. I understand that you are being against Amazon's shipping which claims to do so in a set time, but the holidays create such a nightmare for shipping companies. Amazon can claim to have the item shipped, but that claim is in the hands of the shipping company. Plus, when you order multiple items those items are likely being shipped from multiple locations, using different shipping companies. I've had a single purchase on Amazon which was multiple items being shipped by UPS, FedEx and DHL simultaneously. What I'm trying to say is if you EXPECT to have your items to you before Christmas, do so way before Christmas and not at the last hour/minute. It's like doing that last minute shopping for your Christmas dinner, which, is a nightmare.
  6. Linus and Luke seem to always suggest "this show is disastrous," but I think how off script the WAN show gets is when it becomes most entertaining. Best of LTT 2016: Return of Dennis Liao Worse of 2016: Still didn't beat out the Firetruck view count.
  7. People talk about "over-priced" when they wear that $189.99 Columbia coat, or the $79.99 UnderArmor sweater when Walmart has coats for $30 and sweaters for $15. It's just a brand. Alienware started as a pre-built PC and still operates the same way. Yes, it's cheaper to build your own computer. It's cheaper to eat ramen noodles for diner too, but no, sometimes the women wants a fancy diner that costs you $50 for that one meal. We live in a world to work for money, to buy shit we don't need. In the end, we don't "need to game" on a PC, or even on a console. Candyland is a cheap form of entertainment too, as is a deck of playing cards. Go tell someone their overpaying for that hotel room, when there's an unoccupied underpass just down the block. Tell me I over paid for my Alienware computer, that's fine. But we over-pay for everything in life, because that's all we are. Consumers.
  8. Total available graphics memeory 8149MB
  9. I was perfectly fine gaming 60fps while watching Netflix on two separate monitors simultaneously without errors or issues. Now, I favor watching Netflix on my tablet so in display settings I turned off the second display. Recently I disconnected the other display entirely to be used elsewhere in the house. But now when I'm gaming, I seem to be running out of video memory now. I had this problem before regarding something with multiple displays/projectors being interchanged and it went away entirely by chance, I just can't remember what occurred to make it go away. But the video memory low warning seems to occur after adding/removing additional displays, which did yesterday. Ideas or thoughts on how to fix it?
  10. If you burn down a forest, it brings new life. That in play, either candidate will likely run America further into the ground. So odds end, doesn't really matter anymore.
  11. I've watched the movies couple times, and I'm no scholar of the lore involved but something doesn't make sense in the Fellowship of the Ring. If Bilbo has had the ring for 60 years since Gollems cave, BUT the wizard dude got all suspicious only when Bilbo says "my precious," then the wizard dude discovers from reading those documents that Gollem was tortured and says "Shire. Baggins.", why then did Mordor start the search for it the ring so late? Why not look for it during the 60 years that Bilbo has been in the Shire? And why did Mordor torture Gollem in the first place? If that is explained to make sense, why couldn't the Saruman white wizard dude not just use that globe looking crystal ball thingy to just find the ring since it seems to be able to see anything and everything? It doesn't make sense that the fate of the dark lord immediately started dwindling at the mishandled information gathered from Gollem and the all mighty powerful and wise white wizard guy. And even if he gets the ring back and becomes all mighty and powerful he's not that big of threat if all it takes is to just cut his finger off. I'm 30 minutes into the first movie.
  12. I don't have any devices. I have an Xbox One which the "Full Screen" option when watching YouTube on my PC is right next to "Play on TV" which stops whatever the Xbox One is doing, and loads YouTube. Annoying. Anything "cast to device" is annoying to me. Make it stop!!!!
  13. I live in an apartment, I don't have a Roku or a Chromecast, not on my network or in my apartment and see no need to ever use it. Every once and awhile when rushing I'll accidentally hit the "Cast to Device" button which then shows one of the many available devices pops up to select. Every once and awhile I'll accidentally hit the "cast to device" AND one of the many random, unknown devices that I don't own but I've always stopped it ASAP but sometimes it does load for a few seconds. Is it casting to my neighbors Roku/Chomecast? From what I understood they need to be on the same network, but why do they even show up? Can I choose to hide devices that I don't know or own? And if I do try to cast to a random device that is likely my neighbors, would I be prompted with a password or some speed-bump to even connect to the device? Because I accidentally hit the "Cast to Device" which was apparently my Xbox One while my nephew was playing a game and it just stopped the game and started loading a movie without any "are you sure?" prompts. I'd love to just disable any chance of this ever happening. Is there a way to just completely disable the option "Cast to Device" at a device level? If there is a way to disable this at a router level? I'd feel much more secure knowing that "casting to device" isn't done so freely at the touch of a button. I run Windows on all PC's and Laptops, and Android on phones and tablets.
