  1. Sweet! I'm on Revelations, and I've been wanting to switch to the PC ports for a while now. Thanks for the heads up.
  2. Sorry. I didn't want to shill out the money for the milkshake expansion.
  3. My first gaming rig is finally assembled! Before I rattle off the meager specs, I'll talk about how this rig came to be. I got the core components of this PC as a gift from a friend that no longer wanted it. The PC was a generic workstation with 4 GB of DDR3, a Pentium E5400, a crap PSU, and various other oem junk parts. I salvaged the case, mobo, and optical drive for this rig. That alone let me buy the hardware that I wanted without spending more than $200 on the whole computer. That out of the way, here are the specs: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (Scrapyard wars and penny pinching led me to pick this) Oem Asus Essentio CM5571 motherboard and case 8 GB DDR3 Samsung DIMMs PNY CS1100 240GB SSD WD Blue 1 TB HDD EVGA 80 Plus Bronze 400W PSU EVGA GTX 950 Cooler Master LGA 775 120mm cpu cooler Cooler Master 90mm case fan Very modest parts, I know, but it handles 1080p gaming like a champ, and I may be upgrading to an i5 and an RX480 in the near future for VR. That said, this case actually looks pretty good considering that it was originally a barebones workstation. Embracing those roots, I've dubbed this tower the "Twerkstation". May its bootylicious performance never falter!
  4. Woah. That looks like an awesome way to setup a gaming night with friends. I've never had a projector before, but this looks like it would be neat to pick up.
  5. Yes. Please no debates. I'm only going to be using my PSU for the graphics card anyway, so it's not like I need anything stellar. I was eyeing Thermaltake because I like their products, but anything will work. If I have a little extra to spare, I will consider that Seasonic unit though. Thanks for the input, everyone.
  6. I had planned to get something cheaper anyway. I would absolutely LOVE a modular PSU, but my wallet calls the shots.
  7. Glad to hear it! I'm excited to get this project up and running. I might just cram all of this into a desktop case for the heck of it.
  8. I named it Dinnerbone because I'm stupid/too lazy to change it to a decent name. (Note: When I named it, I flipped the laptop over in the same way that the name causes Minecraft animals to do.)
  9. So I revived my Inspiron 5447 laptop with a new mobo, but I couldn't afford the board model with the onboard Radeon card. A few months have passed, and I now have the desire to get into video production for a hobby on Youtube. I looked up a lot of methods to do this, and I believe that something like this: http://www.banggood.com/EXP-GDC-Laptop-External-PCI-E-Graphics-Card-p-934367.html in conjunction with a decent video card would put me where I need to be. Can anyone vouch for the reliability of products like this and how well they function? If I were to implement this, I would have to use the slot currently being used for my wireless card, so I want to be sure before I take the plunge.
  10. Short term: USB 3.0 powered hub. Mid term: external graphics card mount Long term(6 months maybe) a GTX 750 Ti, or later All to upgrade my laptop and ghetto rig it into a computer case. :^)
  11. Daaaang. I like your implementation. I plan on doing something similar with an old HP workstation. That SD card reader is sick!
  12. I would love to have one in order to upgrade my laptop that currently has a hard drive in it.
  13. I would like a chance to win the Kiro model because it looks really nice, and my HP mouse is a buggy mess.
  14. I'm interested in winning this because ,despite Linus' review of the Steam box, I want to try out Steam OS again. I suppose the fact that it's more powerful than my laptop is a bullet point too, but who's counting?
  15. My mouse is just plain old. It doesn't work well anymore, and I'm interested in giving a gaming mouse a try.
