  1. Do you know if my laptop will work with any Wacom AES 2.0 pens?
  2. I lost the pen for my Gram, and contacted customer support to find out the model number/where to buy a new one. The information they gave me is as follows: Description: Accessory Assembly Specification: Luce A KOREA/USA/SPAIN/JAPAN/GERMAN WINDOWS 10 Wacom Active Stylus Pen Package(KC, FCC, IC, CE, VCCI), Quanta P/N(Assy) : ADDP0201000, Wacom P/N(Assy) : ESP-201-21A-5 Part No. AAA30280601 Additionally, they sent me this link to buy a new one: https://encompass.com/item/13062169/LG/AAA30280601/ $226 for a new pen seems outlandish to me. Unfortunately, I can't find this pen anywhere, does anyone know 1. where to get it for cheaper or 2. if the Wacom technology in my laptop is compatible with any other Wacom pens, and if so, which ones? Thanks.
  3. Budget (including currency): 1500-ish USD Country: United States of America Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: General Gaming/college setup Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Current rough draft is here, though its been years since ive been any good at this: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Slytthus/saved/p4jYNG Friend wanted help building a computer, figured this was a good place to start. Needs a kbd and a monitor, and some cheap speakers, but nothing else. Thoughts? Upgrading from a gaming laptop, main goal is to "not burn my wrists" and also some of the hardware is getting pretty worn out (battery puffing, processors thermally degrading, etc.)
  4. Sick, thx. Sounds like 4 cores is still the standard for gaming, but other programs have picked up a little more on using more than that for multitasking since I've been away?
  5. Thoughts on a 3300X instead of the 3600? Looks to be cheaper and higher clocked at the cost of 2 cores... When I last paid attention 4 cores seemed like the standard, is that still the case? Or is it worth to have 6?
  6. The PSU is B+ tier on the forum's tier list, which is about what I was shooting for, any reason in particular you don't like it?
  7. Did you meen 3200 speed RAM? 3600 seems excessive
  8. Budget (including currency): $1000ish Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming mostly, and some software development. Other details Here's the parts list I cooked up, however seeing as this is my first time designing a rig in years, I wanna get some opinions here and see what I may have missed. What are people's thoughts on this build? I want a 2000 series card for the video codec, and MicroATX or smaller is the preferred form factor, this case is about as big as I'm willing to go.
  9. Yeah, I know, but there do look to be a few things out there, was just curious if anybody knew of anything worth recommending.
  10. Looking for something small, something that fits inside a 6x12x16 carry-on. Anybody have anything they recommend?
  11. MSI Motherboards I'm finding that are microATX and support B450 are all in the $200 range, do you think something from Gigabyte would work? I was thinking maybe this one
  12. I'm currently designing a build for the first time in years, and I am encountering an issue on PCPP where I am being told that some motherboards with older chipsets(B350, A320) may require a BIOS flash, and therefore an older CPU, to support a newer CPU. Is there any way to know which will and which won't? And/or, a way to get around this? I've heard of companies sending loaner CPUs, or of motherboards that can flash without a CPU... How do I handle this? Not really looking to spend a ton on a mobo RN.
  13. Yeah, that's about how I got into it in the first place... Understanding this all again is so weird EDIT: Also remembering how to use this forum
  14. Hello LTT community, I used to come here a lot, was an avid builder and was pretty decent at PC stuff back in my day. However, it's been a long time since I've been paying attention to what's going on in the PC hardware space. I stopped paying attention before/just as intel started doing whacky things with their CPUs. I was stepping away from the desktop space for the time being, headed towards an eGPU setup (which I'm using now, and am quite happy with). However, I have friends with PC questions, and an old desktop i want to revive to be used as an HTPC for my housemates, and a few other PC-related projects to embark on in the future. As such, it's looking like it's about time for me to step back into the PC building community. That being said, I'm struggling with where to start. CPU and GPU naming conventions now are a lot stranger than they used to be, and there's a whole lot of terms being thrown around that I'm not completely sure about. So, if it's not too much, could someone explain to me these new naming schemes, and maybe fill me in on what's going on in the PC world currently? What hardware has changed? And if it turns out i'm asking a really big question, how do people recommend I get started acquainting myself to the modern PC building space? Any good video series to watch? Forum threads to read? Basically, how do I re-learn the modern meta of PC building?
  15. I've just come home from college, and I brought my VR setup with me. I set it up, launched beatsaber, and suddenly it's unplayable. The framerates are low, and the sabers are lagging behind my controllers. Some interesting variables: -im using an eGPU setup, Lenovo yoga C930 max spec and a superclocked 1070 over the mantiz Venus enclosure -I travelled by train, and let the setup with me in the car, but I forgot to cushion the graphics card -beat saber just updated -ive uninstalled and reinstalled beatsaber -ive uninstalled and reinstalled the Oculus software -tried playing robo recall for comparison, it was stuttery too but not as bad as beat saber
  16. Just set up a new eGPU setup, Lenovo Yoga c930 and an EVGA 1070 using the Mantiz Venus. I tried using my Oculus Rift S on it, plugged in the USB both through the PC directly and through the eGPU chassis. on the chassis, it was too low-bandwidth to track(makes sense), but on the type A directly on the PC, it said it was fine, and then showed static. Any ideas what's going on?
  17. is your name a "whats poppin b" joke? cuz it sure looks like it is.

  18. Looking to get a USB extension cable for my oculus rift sensors so i can try out roomscale VR, and i was wondering what you all recommended. longer is better, i might need to chain 2 or more, and as cheap as possible would be nice too.
  19. Do the thunderbolt 3 ports on the yoga 920 support external graphics? I've read around and have found mixed answers.
  20. I found an interesting visual effect on a website, http://weavesilk.com/, and I would like to replicate it in photoshop or illustrator. Hoping to get something like the image below, maybe with soime sort of sparkle effect. Can anybody point me in the way of some guidance or a tutorial?
  21. A friend of mine booted into safe mode without networking using system configuration. He then forgot his password, and as such can't get into windows to disable safe mode. Any tips?
