vdude2000's Achievements

  1. The new videos been uploaded - you can now see/hear the change easier
  2. Nice one, I wanted to try and keep mine fully automatic so I'm using the thermistor in a a potential diver and amplifying the voltage across the fixed transistor with an op-amp to power the fans (obviously using a transistor to amplify the current).
  3. I just changed the sharing settings so that anyone with the link can view. Sorry about that
  4. This is a little project that I've done ofr my GCSE that controls fan speed based on ambient temperature. The thermistor is twist-tied to a thermometer and three case fans are plugged to the controller (although it can control up to 7). The product is powered by a Molex connector and the white Led flashes when the ambient temperature reaches over 30 degrees Celsius. I'm sorry about the quality but I had to use my phone and the S340's side panel was very reflective in these lighting condition. I suggest seeing the start of the video and then forwarding to the end to see the difference. I used the folding@home client to increase temperatures as that is the most intensive task that I leave to do continuously. From what you can see, any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7TF4twYenMrRVcyWmd5R09uVk0/view?usp=sharing What do you think of the aesthetics? What do you think of its usability? Is there anything you like/dislike? In general, if a product like this was available, would you be interested in purchasing it and, if so, how much would you be willing to pay?
  5. I forgot to update my profile. I bought a 980 off a friend recently who upgraded to a 980ti so warranty is not an issue but since two of you seem to agree I think I might just get a new aio
  6. Thats what I have for my cpu but I wanted an aio for my gpu - just want to try it out really and the reasons behind which are too long to explain
  7. This may sound like a stupid question but how can I test to see if an aio is in full working order. There is a h80i on sale for £40 and I need a single fan aio but I don't know what to look out for or whether I should just buy a new aio. any tips or suggestions?
  8. yeah, this is why I decided to wait at the last minute before purchasing a kraken g10 and x41
  9. I'm using an nzxt s340 so unfortunately this is not possible although I appreciate the reply and have looked at ek products before
  10. I need a watercooling loop for my gpu for reasons that would be too long to explain but I don't want to spend too much money as I may upgrade it in the future if I find that I enjoy the experience. Hence I was looking at overclockers uk for my custom loop and noticed and saw that magicool had a dcp450 pump and res combo for £30 and a 140mm radiator for £50. I know everyone says get a ddc/ d5 pump because everything else is "rubbish" but is this just an exaggeration and will this pump and rad at least work. I made a loop using suggested parts but that ended up costing £200 but if anyone has any good suggestions I would really appreciate it.
  11. The survey is now closed. Thank you for all the responses and comments, it really does help.
  12. I am creating a product that can control case fan speeds based on the ambient temperature within the case (similar to a corsair link) for coursework. The product is designed to fin in a 2.5" drive mount so may not be visible in some of your cases. In any case, could you please spare the time to answer the two questions in the google forms survey. Please respond just one and every response is much appreciated. http://goo.gl/forms/548szw3g7l
