  3. I work in a computer shop in australia... i have one of these cards... THEY are a great card dont get me wrong i love the thing... But under australian law we are entitled to give a customer a refund if they bought one... due to the real specs being different to the ones that we advisted from nvidia's website... Do you realise what this does to small computer shops!!! This is alot of money that is very hard if not impossible to get back... One of 2 things need to happen... A price drop on the card with a vocher given to the people who have bought the card... Or the cards need to be taken back and have there extra features we where told about enabled... Oh and people who say the card still performs the same.... well DUH it performs the same as when you bought it....
  4. it's made by a brand a trust and recommend to others and it is a great all-rounder for someone who wants there laptop to do a bit of everything
  5. They have AXP coolers.. so about 65Deg C in a 20Deg C room temp at 800Mhz Core
  6. First up love the quick replies... this is why i love this forum.... I am going to wait to see what happens with the R9 290X... VRAM is very important... it is what my main issue is with the GTX 480s.... 1.5Gbs.... becomes a big issue with 3 screen... any level of AA or high res textures.. 1FPS 5990x1080p.. is about "3k"... so a card designed for 4k sounds good for future room to move. Thankyou to all.!!!!!!
  7. based on what we know... which one would you guys reckon would be the way to go. Also as a note i am currently running 2xgtx480s in SLI with surround (3x1080p) Also i have the AMD FX8150 running at 4.8Ghz. I am really considering the R9 290X... i know it doesn't come out for a while yet.... just wanting thoughts
  8. I m in Australia. It is $850 for a evga reference. And $999 for the one with the water block. and a ek full water block is worth $125. so $24 difference
  9. That may be the case in canada or the us. but over here it is only a extra $20 to get the one with yhe preinstalled water block. Then getting a reference card and a water block. So y would you bother? $20 is worth it just for the warranty
