Hi guys,
Bit of background.
I'm currently running a FX-8350 with a GTX 780. I built it a few years ago and gamed on it when it was build. College got in the way and gaming had less and less time devoted to it.
Skip ahead a few years, I want to game again, but this system simply aint gonna cut it! I went with AMD at the time, well, because I was a student and wasn't "hella flush".
I'm looking to rebuild in the coming months but the world of hardware has moved on a lot. From what I gather, for graphics, RTX is the best option so I was planning a 2070 Super, or if funds allow, a 2080 Super.
Next is on to CPU.
Now, I've been using Intel in work and have had no issues with them (I'm on my second 8350, the first one just died one day), but with the introduction of Ryzen3, I'm not sure where to go.
I was leaning towards an i7-9700K but then there the Ryzen 7 3700X.
My use cases are:
Gaming at 1440p
Light programming (nothing too intensive happening on this machine)
Some photo editing.
I know Ryzen3 is still in its early release stages but in my mind, Intel seems like the "Solid" choice, and will serve me well for years to come.
What are your opinions on this?
Tanks in advance!
