  1. Thanks for putting this together! I think I'm gonna go for something alone those lines! I like having more power from the graphics card but the 3700X will suit me for now, until the next gen comes out and maybe upgrade to that! Thanks for the help guys!
  2. Right, so what I'm gathering from this is: The latest AMD offerings, Ryzen 3000, Zen2, offer better value, without compromising on performance. They run cooler, and have better IPC than Intel. And a current gen AMD motherboard may be able to take the next gen Ryzen chip also. Next is the GPU. If I wanted more power than the 5700XT, it'd be a 2080S, or wait until next year for the next tier of AMD cards. But, I dont see myself gaming at 4k any time soon, and id be happy to bring down a couple of settings to hit better frame rates
  3. I may be a bit behind in the current technology, but aren't we currently on Ryzen 3?
  4. I thought that Ray tracing was a hardware level implementation, meaning that the hardware is dedicated to rendering reflections and such. But the 5700/5700XT dont have that hardware level implementation?
  5. Thanks for your reply! I was thinking of RTX simply because more games are likely to follow suite and use the RTX features in he coming future. The 2 CPUs I mentioned come in at the same price, so if one gave me more power, then Id consider it. The support is something that has been on my mind. I know that LGA-1151 has been around for a while, and may not be here for much longer so the ability to drop in a next gen CPU is a plus for me. For CPU, Motherboard RAM and GPU, i was thinking about €1400 -> €1500 (~$1550 -> ~$1660)
  6. Hi guys, Bit of background. I'm currently running a FX-8350 with a GTX 780. I built it a few years ago and gamed on it when it was build. College got in the way and gaming had less and less time devoted to it. Skip ahead a few years, I want to game again, but this system simply aint gonna cut it! I went with AMD at the time, well, because I was a student and wasn't "hella flush". I'm looking to rebuild in the coming months but the world of hardware has moved on a lot. From what I gather, for graphics, RTX is the best option so I was planning a 2070 Super, or if funds allow, a 2080 Super. Next is on to CPU. Now, I've been using Intel in work and have had no issues with them (I'm on my second 8350, the first one just died one day), but with the introduction of Ryzen3, I'm not sure where to go. I was leaning towards an i7-9700K but then there the Ryzen 7 3700X. My use cases are: Gaming at 1440p Light programming (nothing too intensive happening on this machine) Some photo editing. I know Ryzen3 is still in its early release stages but in my mind, Intel seems like the "Solid" choice, and will serve me well for years to come. What are your opinions on this? Tanks in advance!

  8. The front facing speakers and water "proofness" are major selling points for me. Also, that skin looks amazing, dbrand did a brilliant job!
  9. Hi Guys, I've been having trouble with blue screening lately, even after a fresh install of windows 7. Currently I am running 16GB of ram. Its a mixture of Kingston HyperX Genises (2 x 4GB) and Corsair Vengeance LP Low Voltage (2 x 4GB). I am wondering if I can mix these two kits which operate at different voltages, 1.5v and 1.35v. Prime95 has been running for the past 24 hours testing 15.5GB and has thrown up no errors so far. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
  10. Hi Guys! I have an MSI GTX 660Ti PE in my system. I'm hoping to upgrade to SLI but I'm not sure if I should sell my 660Ti and get a 680. What are your opinions? My System is: AMD FX 8350 ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 Corsair Vegeance 16GB 1600MHz Corsair H100i Crucial M4 128GB WD Caviar Blue 500GB Seagate Barracuda 2TB Corsair HX 1050 Corsair 500R White
  11. I had this exact problem. The led stopped working, as far as I can remember, i could control the fan speeds but not the LED, it remained off. I contacted Corsair and after some "talking-through" over the phone, we concluded at an RMA. The new one works perfectly! I'd say an RMA would be your best bet!
