https://www.aftershockpc.com/welcome/Productinner/s15-new-1 If 1050 is gonna run like shit then I'll just go with this.
-
That sucks. The 1060 in laptops I've seen are humongous for daily commute. They look way obnoxious for classroom use.

Guys do you think a GTX 1050 crammed into a laptop will have an equivalent performance to a GTX970/R9 290? I think a GTX 1050 having a TDP of 75W will stack against a GTX 970 in terms of real world performance? A 1060 is too heaty in a 14' form factor so a 1050 would be perfect in terms of thermal limits. I think I would be great for 1080p gaming on a 14' screen like the blade 14. 14' IPS FHD display, 8GB ram with i7-6700HQ. 1TB HDD with 256gb SSD (user upgradable) Backlit keyboard. Weigh less than 2kg. Cost around 1.1k USD Something like this but with a GTX1050 in it would be perfect! https://www.aftershockpc.com/welcome/Productinner/s14

Seen this on overclock forums Source: http://www.overclock.net/t/632591/cooler-master-hyper-212-plus-evo-club/2490 Anyone have any idea how I can do this mod on a hyper 212? Which kind of 212 are they? Evo? Plus? How am I gonna apply the decal when the tip of the heatpipes are in the way! Thanks!

Well, ITX project ditched! I've a new first world problem here.
-
Hi I just bought another system off my local forum after my ITX-gate in my other thread HERE. CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-4440 Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.30 GHz) Mobo: ASRock Fatal1ty H87 Performance LGA 1150 RAM: Geil XMP DDR3 1750Mhz CL9 2x4GB kit GPU: Gigabyte R9-290 WindForce OC - watercooled via NZXT Kraken G10 adapter + Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 250GB Casing: Corsair Carbide Air 540 Silver PSU: Seasonic X-650 Gold PSU I got the lot for just US$600 I would like to sell this case as it is has lots of wasted space. I feel that the Air540 is more suitable for EATX build. Anyone have a better suggestion for a new case for these components? I need a as much as possible a compact ATX case that can accommodate that 240mm rad, ATX motherboard. Front USB 3 & audio jack. Here's the emptiness for your reference. Thanks for the input Appreciated!

Well, got a Sapphire Dual X 7850 2GB today for 50USD. Overclock the hell out of it 1200MHz on the core & set the fan profile to max 65%. Result, an impressive 78C on load. A temporary solution for now, as 1440p gaming is not gonna cut it on this GPU.
-
It's not bad choices imo. Just bad graphic card. Sold my R9-290 today. Will stick to a 7850 until I can find a more efficient card at a similar price point.
-
I've seen build log on YouTube, people put a R9-Nano without a problem. Oh well... I'll source for a less powerful card for now & wait for 980 price to drop.
-
Well I live on the equator. It can go as high as 32C on a hot day.
-
I have a 120mm XSPC fan to exhaust the hot air out of the GPU compartment but no difference. I can always resale this card as I got it cheap for US170. Any other card with the same caliber will run cooler/quiet in the node? The GTX970 seems to be the one however for the same performance I'm paying almost 100 USD more than the R9.

I'm currently using a Fractal Design Node 202 ITX case along with an AMD R9-290 Gigabyte WindForce. On Idle i'm averaging at 65C. It's really bad... Playing non-graphic intensive games like CS-GO the GPU will heat up till 94C. Room temp 28C. It's so loud with the fans ramming up to 75% Anyone using the same case & GPU as me? Do i really need a reference design GPU for this case?
-
I'm going to try replacing the CPU with an i5-2400 & see how it goes. Hopefully it's not a wreaked motherboard

There's no motherboard speaker in this motherboard. This is not a new build... It happens last night without any reason.
