  1. I have the exact same question. Bought a Lenovo Legion 5 with 16GB 3200MHz, bought a HyperX 32GB kit also 3200MHz and the uncore frequency is listed as half the original. (see attached). Everything else seems to match, same DRAM frequency and very similar timings (slightly faster tRAS). Just uncore which is listed as half as before.
  2. I'm looking for a USB Type C hub with the following ports: Mini-DP (although full size DP will also work) that runs 4k at 60Hz Ethernet/RJ45 2x/3x USB 3.0 Type A I've looked in the usual places, but can't find anything. Hubs with mini-DP are stupidly expensive (many over $100) and even then they only support 4k at 30Hz!... Any suggestions?
  3. sorry kinda of skipped your answer... that would make sense, since ECC is all I seem to find. I guess I'll have to go with 16GB for now and rebuild in the future... thats a shame. (for the record mobo is mini-ITX so only two slots) Thank you for your answer @Oshino Shinobu
  4. I'm repurposing an old gaming rig for work, I need the RAM for VMs. I'd rather avoid upgrading the motherboard, it's Z87 with a 4670K, this is enough for my needs if I can get more RAM. I am aware ECC RAM is compatible with consumer mobos, but I'd rather avoid the speed drop (and price tag)
  5. Looking for a dual channel kit of 2x16GB DDR3. All I seem to find is ECC memory, which I'm not interested in. Clock and timings are not as relevant, although ofc faster is better. Any suggestions?
  6. well the intent was just to see if you guys thought it would ever happen. but we can all just answer this thread saying we want and we would buy, and send it to corsair.
  7. So the title says it all: do you guys think we will ever get Corsair SP fans with LEDs? It's been a few months since they announced the AF LED fans, but I've seen no sign that they're even considering it.
  8. Got an answer from USPS, not really sure what to do with it...
  9. I think that in the summer I'll be at the beach, admiring the sea, only to see an USPS guy on a raft with my O2
  10. I'm in Portugal, and yes they do inspect stuff, that's when items get held into customs. But that's only so people will pay taxes on them, which I'd be glad to pay but the very own customs say the item never entered the country. It would be on their best interest to tell me if it did because then I'd pay taxes for it...
  11. as a matter of fact there's a little conflicting information on this matter, the tracking info given by USPS says: However, yesterday when I spoke with the customs officer I asked him if there was anyway he could get information on the whereabouts of the item. Given the tracking number he told me that the package had been delivered to USPS by the seller (I never had a doubt about that) but that there was no information about the item ever leaving the US. So in fact I don't really know if USPS is just bonkers and the item never left the US or if the customs officer's info is incomplete. Nothing more I can do really, as I said I've already contacted USPS about it.
  12. really doubt it mate, since the item was purchased in the 27th of november, shipped on the 29th by Mayflower, and according to USPS tracking left the US on the 1st of December... that was way before the polar bears got cold...
  13. There's nothing the local post office can do mate since the package never got to their hands. In what regards to USPS I have contacted them but have got no answer yet. It's clear they don't support international business very well since I had to lie about my address, state and postal code in order to submit their contact form. Obviously I know that Tyler is not USPS, thus when I contacted him, I was expecting him to check with USPS since it would be much easier and quicker for him than it would be for me to do it from the other side of the Atlantic. If they ever give me some news, I'll be sure to share it. In what regards to the client/forum thing: the difference is that you have different responsibilities towards your client who paid for an item/service, than you have towards your fellow forum members who are here to help/learn/socialize/etc. by their own free will with no strings attached. If you can't see this then I feel very sorry for your business. But as I said from the beginning, I'm not going to pass judgement on anybody. The information is here, and I'll try to keep the thread updated. In the end each one will be able to take their own conclusions. If you think that everything is OK and you see no harm done, than I truly hope you to do many great deals with Mayflower (I truly do, no irony is intended). If you think that maybe the attitude shown was not the best and want to search for other options, than I truly hope you find as great deals as you would with Mayflower. I don't want to escalate this out of proportions, I just want the information to be out there and people to decide for themselves. I'm sure I'll be very happy if I ever get my hands on my O2 and I'll blow my eardrums in.
  14. replying on a forum is not the same as replying to a customer mate. and the problem is not the item being held at customs, unfortunately. I've been calling the customs services weekly and the answer is always that the item has not reached the country. tomorrow it'll be 7 weeks since the purchase, and I can't even make a claim in PayPal anymore (because 45 days have passed) so I guess I'm depending on USPS's competence (let us all LOL for a moment)
  15. OK mate, then there's no problem I guess. I didn't and won't ever tell anyone to not buy from you, they can look at this thread and choose themselves what to do. If you didn't mean to come as "condescending" you surely did to me, and the few folks that have answered thus far seem to see where I'm coming from (correct me if I'm wrong). Anyway, I'll wait for the item to arrive and hopefully enjoy a great audio experience with my new DT990 Pro's (which you recommended and I am VERY happy with). P.S.: Just to point out again, this is not about the shipping time. I comprehend that at this time of the year things take a while to get around, this is not even the most delayed item I'm waiting for.
  16. it's not about the shipping mate, it's about the atitude... he's not buying because what if something goes wrong? he's gonna have to deal with this type of customer support
  17. Hello all, I have recently purchased a Objective2 + ODAC Combo from Mayflower. The item has not arrived yet, however, as LTT forum is sort of the place for Mayflower support and questions, I’d like to “review” Mayflower’s customer support. As all of you probably know, Mayflower’s rep in the forum is really helpful. You can see my own threads where he promptly helps me out the best way he can. I have actually seen him recommend people not to buy his products when it was his honest opinion that, for that use case, the person did not need an amp or a DAC. I think that’s very praise-worthy, and shows his sincere good faith in helping people out. However, this is all BEFORE people buy the products. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed at Mayflower’s customer support after having bought the O2+DAC. I bought the O2+DAC on the 27th of November, and the item was shipped on the 29th: so far so good. It has been over a month (almost 5 weeks) and I still have not received the item. I live in Portugal, so it’s a long trip, specially this time of the year, no biggie. However, in Mayflower’s site one reads: When the 4 weeks passed, I contacted the portuguese postal services to check if the item was being held in customs. Yesterday I got the answer: the item hasn’t entered the country. Obviously Mayflower’s knows better than I about the shipping service they use, thus, since they said 2-4 weeks, I sent a friendly e-mail asking if everything was OK, maybe they’d got some news or the item might’ve been returned, I don’t know. Unfortunately, the attitude I got in the answer was far from pleasing as a customer. I’m a big boy and I can take it, but to me it shows a profound lack of professionalism. Maybe I'm just largely overreacting (feel free to tell me that, I can also take it ), I’ll transcript the e-mails and add screenshots, that way you guys can judge and take your own conclusions. To me it seems that there two approaches in Mayflower’s customer support: one BEFORE you buy, and one AFTER you buy. A friend of mine was also buying an O2+DAC combo from Mayflower (under my recommendation), after I showed him the e-mail he is already looking into the alternatives. ----- e-mail transcripts ----- My first contact message: The answer I got: The answer I gave:
  18. Hmmm OK, I'll probably buy the DT990. Thanks!
  19. Well Linus, I've watched every single video you made for the last 2-3 years (even before the Slick era). I like the unboxing style, I get to know what's out there and when interested I'll look further into it (reviews, etc.). I would prefer it stayed that way, but if you choose otherwise I'll probably still watch your videos. But bear in mind that you will be entering in another "market". For example, in my honest opinion, there's no way you'll beat TTL in a case review, but maybe you'll surprise us all
  20. Hi guys, I wanted to take advantage of the Black Friday deals on Amazon to buy a new set of headphones, soon to be paired with an O2/ODAC. My budget for the headphones is between £100 ($160) - £200 ($320) I have selected a few on Amazon, and wanted to know which one will be the best "bang for the buck". I mostly listen to rock and metal, but also some classic. So the ones I'm looking at are these, but feel free to suggest others: Denon: (they look like a good deal, both of them) AHD1100 AHD600 AKG: Q701 (a little over my budget but seems to be a good deal) K551 K550 Sennheiser: (from what I hear they sound the same) HD558 HD598 Beyerdynamic: DT990 PRO I realize the are from different classes, and some are open and others are closed. I am looking for the best value for my money, I am used to closed headphones, but I think I would prefer open (I say think because I only tested low end open headphones). However I'll be happy to keep using closed headphones, as long as it is a good deal. Thanks!
  21. I'll have to think carefully... I don't really need the features on the IMPACT besides the sound card, and cheaper mobos can get the same overclock. The thing that bothers me is that if I buy the O2+DAC I'll have a versatile solution for the future. If I buy only the amp, I'll probably have to buy a DAC in the future. I'll probably buy a MSI Z87I, it's $100 cheaper. And I'll use the extra money to get the O2+DAC
  22. That is great news! So freaking happy! Welcome back Rocket! Knew he'd be OK!
  23. Thanks for the answers! I'll have to think about this: the only reason I was going for an IMPACT was for the "sound card". However, for the price difference between other Z87 mini-ITX boards, I might be better off getting a cheaper board and an O2 w/ ODAC...
  24. So I saw Linus' video on Mayflower's Objective 2 amp, and was wondering if they'd be a good buy for someone with an Asus Z87 IMPACT (I'm planning to buy one). What do you guys think? I'd be using some nice headphones, probably in the range of HD600s, or at least HD598s.
  25. i have 2 Vertex 3 in RAID 0 and a 320Gb barracuda for my games... SSDs for speedz, RAID 0 for moar speedz, and 320GB for games because games take a lot of space and don't really benefit from the SSD's speeds, and I already had that drive from my previous PC. I really want to set up a NAS to centralize my media data, at the moment it's all separated and 3 external HDDs since I use two computers (plus smartphone and tablet) would be nice to have all the data in one place...
