XSPC kits are well made, but steer away from the single bay reservoirs ... too noisy.

i am probably the only techie who actually backs the FBI. I think that data they can find off that phone could help decipher why the shooter did it in the first place, and even have data that could possibly take down ISIS.  sure it's a master code, but they could very well destroy it once they're done with it, or if not, just make it super top secret and just hide it away, away from prying hands.

Definitely go with the EVGA 980ti Hybrid. Only gotten good feedback from customers who've gotten it and EVGA tend to know their stuff.

I am currently using the 960 ssc. Its only 2gbs of vram but it plays (Fifa 16, F1 2015, Battlefield 4 and SWTOR) everything I want maxed out nicely. if you are going for the latest games, I would buy something more powerful but for last years stuff the 960 does a tip top job.

    All,

The very decent and fine Mrs Tetters bought me the XSPC Raystorm 280 kit to replace my faithful old Corsair H75 this Christmas. After a little wait for it to arrive, the installation was eagerly jumped at.

There are a few things that XSPC do well, product quality and effectiveness and installation instructions being a couple of them. Following their instructions really lead to an easy install,

The install went like a dream, way easier than I thought it might be but there was one big issue that I wasn't expecting. The tubing is quite stiff and I kind of messed up the angles its sitting at, so the tubing set-up isn't as neat as I would like it to be. it works fine for now, but I am tempted to replace it in the summer with hard line and make it really neat.

The  single bay reservoir is really small, the reason I went with this is because it was on sale and I figured its a great way to get into custom loops. Now its up and running, it does a great job. The pump is a tad loud in that you can hear a faint hum coming from it but the fans are completely silent (currently set up on a pull configuration). My next steps would be to go to a bigger reservoir and better pump, which would solve that issue I am sure. The initial filling was a bit of a pain given it can hold only a teardrop of water but once I got used to cycling the power every one second or so as it drained so fast I got the loop filled. I found that once I got water running through the rad and into the block, the rest of the filling was pretty simple. Now its working really well and it didn't take long for all the air bubbles to work their way out of the loop.

All in all, I am chuffed to bits with the loop, but being me, am already planning on expanding it as soon as I can justify the cash.

    Cheers All

    A 280mm rad has only 10% less surface area over a 360mm rad. (360*120/(280*140))

140mm fans can push up to 50% more air per unit noise over 120mm fans so overall the performance difference tends to be super minimal.

Hehe, I remember when I made this mistake on my first PC. I also did not know you had to press the power button on the case, I thought you just had to flip the switch on the PSU.

well.. as much as people seem to hate on RMA.
this shows that if theres a real problem, the company gives you real help.

the retailer where i get my stuff has a pretty bad rma reputation (just like everyone else these days...) and when i realised (a good long time after their warranty period) that my uninterruptable power supply had a dead battery (kinda hard to miss that when power drops, and your devices drop with it) i gave them a call, they told me that outside the warranty period they dont cover it anymore, but told me to come in with the device if i could.

when i arrived in their "service after sale" it was a pretty stuffed day: they had a DoA computer, a bad corsair H100i, and some other random crap.
when it was my turn i put my ups on the desk, packaged in its original box, and i explained my problem. the guy took the device to the back (he cannot judge on edge cases himself) and he returned with a new UPS, apologising for the inconvenience.

i've set up quite a reputation there:
    - an issue with my tuf motherboard, seems an edge case between any tritton headphones, and any powerful computer (hence they advertise xbone/ps4 compat? -winkwink-)
    - two DOA routers, one of which gave its final breath on their testbench.
    - a third router that was REALLY moody at times
    - a DOA ups to keep the dodgy router alive, at this point i realised it was probably dirty power in my area causing the issue.
