  1. Its just got a bunch of LED's inside it and we want to put it on display and I know nothing about doing this sort of thing so I'm sure your right. (electronics n00b here) I just want to find a way to supply some sort of external power to it so we can put it on display and I figured someone here would know how to accomplish that task haha
  2. We have a really cool old Server Bezel with some LEDs we are trying to somehow rig for power to hang in the office it has a Molex 44133-0400 that I need to supply external power to via some sort of wall plug (https://www.molex.com/molex/products/part-detail/crimp_housings/0441330400) I want to find a simple solution to get power to this connector since I am not great with a soldering iron. When it was powered before it was via a Molex 44432-0401 plug (https://www.molex.com/molex/products/part-detail/pcb_headers/0444320401) Any ideas are appreciated Here is the Bezel: Here is the Server it was powered From:
  3. I already did try it with no RAM and didn’t get an error haven’t tried to pull the CPU yet but my thought is a bad board because didn’t throw any kind of error with no RAM
  4. It’s a 2600x was a build for a friend so was semi budget
  5. Having some issues getting a new system to boot wondering if anyone has any ideas have the system on a bench right now with just 1 stick of RAM and the CPU cooler and power supply plugged in the RGB and the standby light come on but none of the QLEDs on the top right and no fan spin. I think it might be a bad mobo at this point but anyone have something I could try?
  6. So I got a new case (NZXT H440) and my 4690K with a Corsair H100i GTX is running about ~10 degree c hotter (~34 idle and ~50 under load where I used to be in the 20's idle and High 30s under load) then in my old Corsair Spec 01 case. Now I know the H440 is a restrictive case and the Spec 01 had nothing covering any of the fans (had 2x 120mm in the front with just a dust cover 2x 120 push on my Rad and a 120 in the back) the H440 has triple 120's in the front the dual 120's pushing out the rad and a 140 at the back. with the panels covering the front intake and the 2 120 rad fans so you guys think ~10 degrees is due to the case or should I double check my thermal compound to make sure it got spread evenly?
  7. It was a budget to start (until I got the 980Ti but not anymore
  8. its an addiction just wanna do more haha! new stuff for full on hardline watercooling should be starting to come next week my wallet is starting to hurt.
  9. Here is my update: Installed an EVGA 980 TI Superclocked and installed an NZXT H440 Case with a new 850W PSU and some sleeved cables. Next step is hard lined watercooling gonna be getting that stuff shortly.
  10. would make much more since for him to buy a 980 and use the extra to upgrade to a 1440p monitor that way he gets 2 upgrades and can utilize both of them.
  11. Well I decided to bite the bullet and get the 980Ti and ended up getting all the other stuff to (man this is an expensive hobby!)
  12. Well Just figured I would post something a huge update is cumming with upgraded case to pretty it up a bit as long as some new parts stay tuned for version 2.0 of this now not so budget build
  13. Right now 1440P monitor might go to 4K at some point but not right now. And I have done my research and I know on paper 970 SLI might be a little better then 980ti benchmark wise (~1-3 FPS) but real world I know SLI isnt always optimal. Then in DX 12 there will be vram stacking but who knows how that will work or compatibility with it in the future. Also I was thinking I would walk away with like ~$200 if I sold my 970 (after something like an ebay/paypal cut and shipping cost) I am trying to be realistic here.
  14. Ok so I built a new system at the beginning of the year and at the time I got a single 970. last month I got a bonus best buy giftcard from taking a class so I now have a $500 dollar bestbuy card basically burning a hole in my pocket. So I was considering two options basically using the giftcard to get a 980ti (I would need to throw in about ~$200 to get it) or buy a second 970 AND get a case upgrade (which I really need because I went uber cheap on my current case for my original budget). if I got the 980ti I could sell the my original 970 and basically break even on the deal but would still be stuck with my crappy case and it would obviously be much more work because I would have to deal with selling the 970. I am kinda torn because I have seen benchmark saying 970SLI and 980ti are basically on par with each other but there is always the issue of SLI support What do you guys think?
  15. A pair of nice headphones isnt a bad idea. I already have a PS4 and a good TV and really have no want for an XBONE. My new systems already has SSD storage, I am never at a loss for what to buy so its just a strange feeling haha! I already have a new work laptop and tablet (X1 Carbon and Surface Pro 3) my phone was a semi recent purchase so no need to upgrade that hard calls here.
