So long as this is a separate service and doesn't impede us from buying EA games, then I'm for it. It's actually a really good idea, so long as the price stays relatively low.

Honestly, EA Access for Xbox One is a really cool program, and can be a cheaper option for a lot of people. It's $5 a month. You could easily beat Dragon Age in a month, and you'll be spending far less money on it than if you bought it.

Even if you were to use EA Access as a regular service, it's $5 a month, which equals $60 a year, otherwise known as the price as one brand new game. You pay the price of a new game, once per year, and you have access to almost a dozen games, or however many is in the EA Access Vault now. Realistically, all of us buy at least 1 brand new game at $60 or so per year.

Think about it. Is it really that ridiculous of a program?

Note: Don't make this too harsh on them. You need to help them, not yell at them.
    I'll go first:
So my mom has a daycare. And one day I am sitting on the floor with my laptop. And one of the kids, with real dirty hands come and put his hand on the screen. Guess he thought it was a touch screen. Still haven't gotten it off, and it was 3 months ago.
My grandmother is scared of getting rid of the computer, because she thinks it will cut the power to her house.

    https://discordapp.com/

I've used skype as my voice comm for over 4 years with my friends to play mmorpgs, csgo and dota. Decided it was too much of a hassle to keep on having to add friends into calls constantly. Went on a hunt for better voice comm.

Teamspeak - pretty complicated to set up a free server with 10 slot limit iirc, voice quality is ok i guess.

Gamevox - much easier to use than ts but voice quality was a lil but jarring.

Then i came across discord. Holy fuck this is the best shit I've ever used. Told my friends to try it out, all of them immediately moved over to it on the same day.

    1. Can be used on browser, program version also available. (I have this retarded friend who didnt want to use other voice comms cuz he was too lazy to download, ikr wtf)

    2. As I mentioned that it works on browsers as well, you can create a 24hr temporary link for (friends with no acc, players ur stacking with etc) to join.

    3. Setting up a server is simple as click on a button which says [create server], also its free. you can create as many servers as you want. The server is always up, even if the host shuts down his com.

    4. No limit to the number of participants in each server. You can also create as many subchannels as you want. I've had over 10 friends in my server, works smoothly with no issues.

    4. Voice quality is awesome. If you have that one friend who's mic is always loud for no god damn reason, you individually lower the volume of each participant.

    5. Very simple and effective design, features and options, also completely free.

    6. Text to Speech feature in chat which is fucking fun to use.

I wasn't asked by discord or anyone related to discord to write this post. I just feel that this voice comm is just that awesome that everyone should give it a try.

xboxonthego3 reacted to GoodBytes in Microsoft Surface Pro 3 vs Apple iPad Pro?
The Surface 3 or Pro 3.
Obviously the Pro 3 is far faster, and will handle multi-tasking far better, than the Surface 3, especially if you can get the i5 CPU model (you'll have some serious ultrabook performance).

What you gain from the Surface 3/Pro 3
Ability to adjust the screen angle for best viewing experience based on desk height, your size, especially the Pro 3 which give you full control (Surface 3 has only 3 positions), and support a nice angle for drawing. Full size USB 3.0 port, and charging only port on the power adapter of the Surface Pro 3. Run x86 programs (32 and 64-bit)
The pen has replaceable battery. The Apple one you need to connect the long pen on the device lightning connector and wait for it to charge (yes, if you hit the pen, the pen will break, and potentially damage the port, as it just hands out on the center of the device where the port is. There is no cable for it, and you can't use the device in landscape as you charge the device (because the pen will be on the way)).
Surface 3 and Pro 3 features 2 buttons on the pen: One for right-clicks, and the other for activating the eraser functionality. An addition button is at the top of the pen (where you normally have and eraser on a pencil, or button to slide out the pen form a mechanical one) for start OneNote (can't be changed to the program you want, sadly. but there are workarounds (http://www.lovemysurface.net/surface-pro-3-purple-button/, as always, because it is Windows. Not sure how well it works. I have a SP2 not a SP3. Different pen technology)
The Surface 3 and Pro 3 has expandable storage (micro-SD card slot. Up to 128GB micro-SD card support, if I am not mistaken. But please verify before purchase) The keyboard cover is backlit, and has a touchpad. Yes, it is small one, and yes it isn't the best. But it works, and is decent. Surface Pro 3 is 12inch, the iPad Pro is 13inch (12.9inch) What you gain with the iPad Pro over the Surface Pro:
Slightly higher resolution (2,732 x 2,048 vs 2,160 x 1,440) Slightly lighter than Surface Pro 3 (1.57 lbs vs 1.76 lbs). The Surface 3 is: 1.37lbs. All weight is without the keyboard cover and pen. Just the device itself. 8MB camera (Surface 3 and Pro 3 has a 5MP one. I believe the Surface 3 has auto-focus, but not the Pro 3 (the Pro 3 was release much before)) 10h of battery life (claimed by Apple), vs 9h of battery life (claimed by Microsoft)
Care free. The Surface 3 and Pro 3 body is in magnesium, a material that is lighter and stronger than aluminum however, can't be died in a color, and no paint color, doesn't look nice like aluminum. As it is paint, anything will scratch, even putting it on the table. You always have to be careful when putting on a table, to put it on the side of the keyboard cover. And you may want to get a sleeve for the device with soft interior if your backpack doesn't have a soft, fabric like, inner pocket.
Ability to use touch screen and pen.. however, there is no demo of palm rejection (well its really: disable touch screen when pen is hovering on the screen) which the Surface line have. All the videos I have seen, the pen drawing on the device, the palm is not touching the screen. So I guess it doesn't have one. If I didn't miss anything, this is a comparison between devices.

A new study showing from scientist a unique little venom from the wasp named Brazilian Polybia paulista wasp

The venom in the wasp named Polybia-MP1 is shown when applied to the surface of the cancer cell to destroy the cell's lipids which create big holes which destroys the cell membrane and makes the cell contents to leak out.

It's also shown that the venom can also help slow or inhibit other cancers as well like bladder cancer.

To be honest it's kinda amazing how sometimes mother earth has strange and odd bugs that can help us out by simply thinking outside the box and trying new things besides new chemical medicines. Mother earth is amazing for producing various bugs, animals, plants, fungi that help us out constantly.

I wonder what would happen if certain plants or bugs didn't exist.

what are your thoughts about this ?

PS: The venom manages to destroy cancer cells but not normal healthy cells not sure how to explain that but it simply does.

If you are really in need of a new device imediately I would go with the Surface 3. It sounds like you would just be doing some web browsing. Which isn't tough work. The atom processor is more than enough for web browsing, emails, videos, and light office work. If you are doing anything serious I like visual studios, rendering, autocad, etc. then the the Surface Pro 3 would be a better choice. But if you have the option to wait a month or two. I would. I believe there is going to be an annoucement for the Surface Pro 4 in October from what I have read from some other sites. In the past Microsoft released new Surface pros in about 6-8 months from each other. It's been over a year. And it's about due for a new Surface. But I bet they waited for Skylake mobile chips.

Agreed. Satya ran Azure, and did a fucking awesome job of it too.

Nokia was dead in the water when Microsoft stepped in. They stuck exclusively with Windows Phone for a simple fact - if Microsoft had not stepped in, there WOULD BE NO NOKIA - Period. The end. Not just their Mobile division - I mean the entire company was on the verge of bankruptcy. Nokia dug their own grave years ago - especially in the mobile space by continuing to back SymbianOS, with devices that while well built, were mediocre for the most part. They failed hard when the smartphone craze happened.

Nokia would not have went on to make Android phones, or anything else. They would simply be a part of History, like Voodoo GPU's.

Because that's a 100% different situation? Really people. Sony and Nintendo CEO's took pay cuts because their companies are performing like shit. Nintendo CEO would not have taken a pay cut if Nintendo was swimming in profits and revenue. Nintendo needed those staff to continue to develop their current and next gen products that will (hopefully) save the company and return them to profitability. If those staff were unnecessary, Nintendo would have cut them in a heartbeat.

Satya's salary at Microsoft is $17.5m USD. The REST OF IT is mostly stock options, plus cash bonuses. His "$84m" is mostly stock in Microsoft.

I wish more people understood that being a CEO isn't some easy pass to lots of money and not having to work. Those CEOs that you 9-5 employees like to chastise are putting in more work than you likely ever have or ever will. Their days and responsibilities don't end because they left the office. Their days start and end long after you've already given up for the day. These aren't the lazy goons that the media and movies have ed you to think - these guys are up and about and doing their jobs hours before you even have enough energy to hit the snooze button.

I know this because I was a glorified assistant for a CEO during one of my co-ops. I got emails at 5 in the bloody morning, 3 hours before I was even supposed to be remotely functional. These guys don't sit around counting their millions. They put in work, real work. Maybe 0.5% of this site could do a CEOs job.

Do I think some CEOs get ludicrous money? Yes. Some have salaries that make me think twice. But is it our job to judge that? No. Private companies are free to pay their CEOs whatever the hell they want. Even public companies pay their CEOs handsomely to retain talent. That is their call. Not yours. You want it to be your call? Either get on the board of investors or become the President, then you get to dictate what the heads make. Until then, no one here has any right to judge anyone on their salary.

By the logic in this thread, people who flip burgers at McDonalds sure as shit don't deserve to be making 15 dollars an hour for that kind of 'work'. Yet I will get flamed to hell and back for insulting workers like that. Double standards are amazing,eh?
