Surface Pro 3 vs. Pro 4
xboxonthego3 replied to Warlock5822's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
You do realize there are other models of the Surface that do not have the Core M or the Atom based processors? Right? -
Surface Pro 3 vs. Pro 4
xboxonthego3 replied to Warlock5822's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
The above specs are for the Surface 3. Not the Pro 3. The lowest Pro 3 you can get is a i3 and 64GB of Storage with 4GB of RAM. So you are really not comparing the Pro 3 and the Pro 4. But the Surface 3 and the Surface Pro 4. That is why the price varies so much. I have the Pro 3 and find it sufficient had it since it was released. My brother recently upgraded to the Pro 4. Not any huge improvements. Just a bigger screen, better pen. And it does not heat up as easily and fan noise tends to be quieter mainly because it is not used as much. I haven't had much experience with the Surface 3 but I have used it. It would work for light use such as web browsing and lecture notes. But I would recommend getting a model with 4GB of RAM. Quite a few people do not know how to use a computer efficiently and have 100s of tabs and windows open. I could make 2GB work for the uses you describe. But not everyone can. -
What are your FPS? and what settings are you changing? Otherwise we may not be much help. Your hardware is pretty good. So it should run it quite well. Unless Tomb raider has an issue with SLI.

PC gaming for college student
xboxonthego3 replied to Aurora_Spectrum2's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
A desktop i5 cpu is not slow compared to a mobile cpu processor. Like the ones that are common in today's laptops. It actually probably beats your 6th i7 laptop depending on what i7 is in your laptop. -
Tough choice. If the corsairs work without issues I would say the Corsairs. Because the issues with the 930 can be annoying until you get them fixed. And to be honest the damn things are starting to disconnect again.... might be returning mine for the Corsairs.

Been meaning to buy this for awhile ever since I switched to PC. Thanks for the deal!

Ran the same resolution for a few racing games over New Years. Works great with a 980ti.

I own the G930's. And I bought them for $70. Let me tell you they are not that bad. For $70 they are worth it when they are working. But get ready to deal with some issues the first week or so... Randomly turns off. Found a fix for that. Constantly reconnecting at startup and found a fix for that.. But after all that it works pretty flawless now.

Don't forget to look at AOE II HD edition on steam. My all time favorite.

[US B&H/Newegg] LG 25UM57-P 2560x1080 ultrawide monitor $179.99
xboxonthego3 replied to PlayStation 2's topic in Hot Deals
Not a huge deal at all since these are the 25 inch. The 29 inch have been on sale for 199 twice in the past few months. -
Surface Pro might seem overpriced. But it so versatile. Want hand written notes? Typed notes? I have a Surface Pro 3 for college. I consider it one of the best options for students. Especially if you want to do digital hand written notes. But I can't blame you for getting other cheaper ultrabooks. Because there is a lot of other compelling options.

Semi Portable Portfolio? Nabi Big Tab HD 24" ?
xboxonthego3 replied to AT28's topic in Phones and Tablets
In your case I would look at getting a Intel NUC. They are small portable PCs. You can plug them in to any size tv. They come in various configurations and prices. You can find them on newegg. -
Sub $100 (USD) Smartphone for Girlfriend
xboxonthego3 replied to Jacktastic-Mofo's topic in Phones and Tablets
This BLU phone. Buy it now. The other BLU phone did not have LTE. This one does. It is a 5.2 in Full HD display. 16GB of Storage. 2GB of RAM. 13MP Rear Camera and 5MP Rear camera. The processor is 1.3 GHz Octa-Core Mediatek 6753 with MALI T720 GPU. Looks to be a great phone for $99. Which it is on sale $50 off right now on amazon. Only problem is it may not get here before Xmas. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0189RMNTG?tag=androidcentralb-20&m1k=d_ac -
To answer your question. No. It isn't about if they should. It's that they won't make a battery case for the IPhone 5s. The phone is over 2 years old. Why would they make a new accessory for an older product? when they can make the accessory for the new product to entice you to buy it. It's simple business. They leave the third parties to the older products.

[US-Newegg] LG 21:9 Ultrawide 25" LED IPS Monitor
xboxonthego3 replied to terrytek's topic in Hot Deals
List price isn't always market price. That was probably the orignal list price. Here is a link to the 29 inch. Looks like it is on sale again at bestbuy. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-29-ips-led-hd-219-ultrawide-monitor-black/7937084.p?id=1219686595126&skuId=7937084 -
[US-Newegg] LG 21:9 Ultrawide 25" LED IPS Monitor

They had the 29 inch on sale yestersay for 199. And to put things into perspective the 29 usually sells for $299. -
I would go for the elite controller because it looks to be better build and of higher quality. Either controller could possibly have accidental button presses. But that is why they allow you to change and remove them. Elite controller all the way. I want one myself. But will wait until lower price. If that will ever happen.

Vsr and dsr on a 1080p projector
xboxonthego3 replied to laddercats's topic in Home Theater Equipment
Buy what you can afford. If that is a 65" 4k tv. Buy it. Do not try vsr and dsr on a 1080 projector. You will not be happy with it. 1080p projectors are great for presentations. But not good video quality depending on how big of a projection you make it. Stick with the 65" 4k tv. Or save up some more for the larger tv. Pixel density. It's about the pixel density. -
LG V10. I have one. First Android phone. Love it. You're right about it not coming with wireless charing out of the box. There are a few people from another forum i'm on that have already bought third party wireless covers. Hopefully someone get's it one in soon. I'm interested to see if they work and are reliable. But probably won't know for a few weeks. I loved wireless charging. But that fast charger it comes with is great. And I honestly like it more than my wireless charger on my previous phone. I can have the LG V10 fully charged in under an hour. With the extra battery I'll be getting soon will make battery life less of a concern as well.

[US-Amazon] Samsung Galaxy View 18.4" 32 GB Tablet $499

Think of it more like a Portable tv that only streams video. It is niche but has a purpose. -
[US-Newegg] Samsung 850 EVO 500GB + AC Syndicate: $150
xboxonthego3 replied to SteveGrabowski0's topic in Hot Deals
Yep brings it to $134.99. Just bought one. OP Should add it to the post. -
Go for the LG V10. LG is running a promo to get a free 200GB MicroSD card and a free battery with cradle charger. Although you will have to fill out a form and wait for about 6 weeks.. I believe Samsung is running some promos on their phones as well. I would look into both.

[AUS] Intel 750 Series 400GB PCI-Express PAX Special
xboxonthego3 replied to JWMutant's topic in Hot Deals
Lol. I have four 250GB SSDs in Raid 0 for my gaming rig. I don't even have a hard drive. Load times and transferring speed is great. If you have the money why not have a larger capacity of SSD space.
