  1. Could anyone tell me what the difference is between ue49mu6450 and ue49mu6470. I want to buy a new tv but I'm not sure which one to take. I've looked at the specsheet for the tv's but I'm sure they are the same with just a different model number.
  2. Just found this: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3444523/10tb-hard-drive-show-bios-dos-spin.html
  3. Today i took out two drives out of my Qnap nas. Both drives worked perfect. I want to use the drives in my pc but the bios doesn't detect them. I even tried the latest Gparted but they still won't show up. If i connect a different harddrive on the same sata cable it works just fine. Does anyone know why the drives aren't showing up?
  4. Thanks for your responses. I appreciate it. I'm going to sell the gpu and install Unraid. For applications i'm going to use docker containers. My website doesn't use a database so no need for sql. I've got a domainname and ddns. Is there a way to export the watch/view states from Plex (Windows) to a Plex docker container?
  5. Hey guys I have the following hardware: * Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170N-WIFI * GPU: MSI RX 480 Gaming X 8G * CPU: Intel Core i5 6600K * Optical Drive: Silverstone SOD02 Slim DVDRW Optical Drive * HDD: Samsung 850 EVO Series M.2 250GB SSD * PSU: SilverStone SX600-G SFX Modular 600W * RAM: Corsair DDR4 2400MHz 16GB 2x288DIMM * HDD: 3x 3tb WD Red I would like to use above hardware to run: * Webhosting (personal website) * Radarr * Sonarr * NZBget * Plex * Network storage Right now i have a Qnap TS251 but it's not powerfull enough to transcode Plex streams that's why i have a laptop (Probook 6550b) running Plex server. I'd like to get rid of the Qnap and laptop. What software should i run on the pc to do everything i want? OMV? Unraid? Windows maybe? What about safety, are these operating systems secure? Should i sell the gpu, since i don't need it for the (server)pc? Thanks in advance!!
  6. Never heard of it. *Google here i come!
  7. Ok, I'll compare FreeNAS and Unraid. But i think FreeNAS is the better choice. Instead of buying a prebuild server i could build one myself. Ryzen cpu's seem to tick all the boxes.
  8. Well at the moment i have a Qnap NAS (ts-251) which runs all the apps just fine but it can't handle the Plex transcoding so i'm running Plex server on a spare laptop (HP Probook 6550b). I'm not tied to an specific OS. Whether i use Unraid or FreeNAS doesn't really mather to me. Same goes for the server. If you have a better alternative for me i'd like to hear it I just want to get rid of the laptop / NAS combo and just use one machine to handle everything.
  9. That's cheap! A new one here in the Netherlands costs about 215 euros. https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/463569/hp-proliant-microserver-gen8-g1610t.html The one i was offerd also contains four 1tb harddisks. I have a Geforce 210 lying around so it's good news if i can use that. I looked up the dockers containers for Sonarr, Radarr and NZBget and they seem to be available.
  10. I don't mind the extra work. I just want to do it right But that's why ask for advice..
  11. Today i was offered a HP MicroServer Gen8 with a G1610T cpu and 8 gigs of memory for 300 euros. I think this is a good deal but i'm not entirely sure since i'm not very familiar with server hardware. Also this MicroServer only has a VGA output (just like most server hardware) can i just use any converter so i can use it on my monitor (hdmi, dvi, dp)? I would like to install Unraid on this server and i was wondering if Unraid supports the following: Webserver (so i can host my personal website) Plex (with Docker?) PlexPy A shared network folder (password protected, so i can share files with family) Sonarr, Radarr NZBget and is it possible to access Unraid outside of my local network with DDNS? Like i said i'm totally new to this server world and Unraid so any help is appreciated.
  12. Don't worry about it We're here to help each other. Thanks for your reply. I went to the local computerstore and the clerk there told me the same. Sell or repurpose the laptop and NAS. Buy an real dedicated server and i should be set for the future. I have a lifetime Plex-pass so i could try to use the hardware transcoding on the NAS. I'll look into the R710
  13. Not a helpful post Qi_Forever but it's nice to see i'm not the only one facing this "problem". I really like my Qnap NAS, maybe that's an option for you? I'd like to run: Plex server Webhosting Sonarr SabNZBd File storage (if i could access this via the internet that would be cool) What is my best option?
  14. Hey, First off i hope i'm posting in the right (sub)forum... I'm in need of some infrastructural help. At the moment i have a NAS, laptop and a desktop pc in my network. Specs below: Desktop: CPU: Intel 6600k GPU: RX480 Memory: 16gb DDR4 Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170N-WIFI Harddrive: M.2 Samsung 256gb Case: Ncase M1 Laptop: HP Probook 6550b with an SSD and 6gb memory NAS: Qnap TS-251 with 8gb memory 3tb WD Red Pro and 500gb WD drives I'm using the NAS for file storage (important personal files and tvshows), webhosting, Sonarr and SabNZBd. The laptop is running Plex server because the NAS is too weak to transcode. I was thinking about leaving my desktop pc on 24/7 instead of the NAS and the laptop. I could run a virtual machine with Plex. webhosting and Sonarr. Is this a smart thing to do? I would also like to play some games now and then on the desktop, is this going to interfere with the virtual machine? What are your thoughts about this? Thanks in advance.
  15. I don't think they use velcro. If you look at this clip: and pause at 3.23 you'll see that he just pops the glass panel into the little holes. Just like the original panel.
