    Never seen something that yellowed...
Unfortunately the weird 9500GT is ded, probably because of that shoddy cooling. That was kind of the interesting thing about this machine because there's a weird  back panel breakout with composite, S-Video and a footprint for a SCART connector that would have been fun to play with. PSU's dead too, so it's all going to the dump apart that mATX mobo and the Q6600/4GB of DDR2 on it and the DVD drive that work just fine (owner kept the HDD).

TBH with how bad Internet Explorer was, I'd be angrier at the software developer that thought it was a good idea to solely write their software with only IE in mind.

My mum has been frustrated several times by the goverment's education department having a lot of websites and software that still actively requires IE to function at all.

    Summary

A PlayStation 1 dev recently revealed to the Youtuber Modern Vintage Gamer (MVG) that he and/or the team programmed a simple cheat code which basically enables the retail commercial release of Alien Resurrection (PS1) to act as a boot disk for playing backup CD-R games on stock hardware.   MVG tested a North American release and confirmed the cheat as a success.   Link provided below

In a small server for a small use case, yea probably. Flip side is most of that usage doesn't need AVX-512 either. The removal of E-Cores I think is just to widen compatibility for hypervisors and nothing else.

I was able to get a free 1TB HDD that had been running Windows 7 with ransomware on it. Just a full wipe using gparted 0.5.2 (main use has been checking - so many bad or partially working sticks - SDRAM). Honestly I'm also not actually concerned about virus on my XP PC - considering while I do have several legit keys, I use a 2014 copy of XP BE (comes with all updates up until that point+multiple Windows themes I can't find elsewhere) - because for the most part it is an unattended install.

unrelated fun fact, in posting the S30 elsewhere online I once had some tech illiterate dipshit go on a huge faux-helpful rant about how using XP is unsafe and I should install Linux on any old laptop ever, and they recommended
    drumroll please…

I hate popOS nerds so much, they’re like the modern day kali kiddos who think they’re top shit for installing a Debian based distro with the gui installer, and proceeded to go shit up the internet for everyone else in some sense of weird elitism

edit: this is them completely not understanding that a mobile pentium III and 256mb of ram will not do anything that XP can’t already do, it’s not like installing Linux will magically let it play a 480p YouTube video

As one of this forum's grumpy old men, it is my duty to point out that you young'uns don't know how easy you have it. When I was a lad, we had to make PCs out of coal and our own tears...

A lot of the complaints centred around aesthetics. Firstly that's optional. Secondly, if you do decide to pursue it will cost time and money, as it does with cars, clothes, houses and loads of other things.

Cable management is easier than ever. Look at old case reviews, cable management was an afterthought, or really old, it was non-existent (anyone else remember tucking IDE ribbon cables behind the motherboard?). Plus no more cables for optical drives, and for a quite a lot of us now, no cables for SSDs either. Faults occur less than in the past, things setup themselves. Overclocking and fine-tuning gives such tiny gains these days, it's entirely optional.

I will concede GPU price inflation, that has been brutal over the past 4 years. Other than that, I's say it's no harder than 10 years ago, and a lot easier than 20 years ago.

The phrase "Glass is glass and glass breaks" is a catchphrase for JerryRigEverything. It isn't going to be inside any phones. And unlike other copyright traps, like fake trivia or fake towns on a map, Dbrand and JRE did not try to claim that these were real features or facts. They were advertised as Easter eggs.
