zahin got a reaction from Roll_Like_Rollo in Experiences with non-techies
I have a guy in my school who made an app and somehow won some prizes. Now, he's known as "the most tech savvy person of the school." Just today I saw him take a friend's phone, fire it up and wave it for some seconds. "The camera's good," he said. He didn't even take any photos. I don't know how one can come to such a conclution.

Remember to aggressively target Cutlasses while dogfighting... Unless they're piloted by me. Then run away as fast as you can

Well now that you've taken the heatsink off, you absolutely need to re-apply TIM.
Go get some ArcticSilver 5 and maybe pick up a cheapo high-performance cooler like a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo. It's arguably the best sub-$30 cooler you can buy.
That should bring temps down significantly.

A bad RAM stick will keep you from posting, and is more common. CPUs don't easily die.

cpu rarely dies, when it does, it's no screen. But to confirm on that its either grab another same cpu or test the broken on another board. Had a system once where the cpu will bsod when logging into the desktop on 64bit, but it works fine with 32 bit.

Suppose I don't have extra parts, what then?

Normally your mobo will beep and not post. Count the beeps then refer to the manual to find the problem. There may also be an error code on the mobo.

It can easily be installed on a USB drive. I have done it and I am still using it when needed as it is useful in repairing PCs! Go to http://www.easyuefi.com/wintousb/and follow the instructions and use the FREE software to do it.

Because MS don't support it and XP loads its USB drivers too late in the boot process.

Don't be like that bro. If you don't know the answer, just don't say anything. If you know, then stop wasting time and just post it.

I know him. By "the camera's good" he meant it's good. God knows if he has any idea about what latency is. Last week I saw him trying to install a driver on one of my school's computers. He failed miserably. The driver wasn't WHQL certified but it was Windows XP; shouldn't have been a big deal.

I paid 25$ for this, i used it for 4 months ish, then gave it to to my mom. she uses it every single day because she gets almost no service and her phone gets wrecked. apparenly it still works just as good as when she got it. this was 8ish months
since that 8 months, I got a larger battery. they stopped making the one i use, and now this is it with a slightly larger capacity, same phyiscal size. This lasts me a week with using it every day. I leave it in my backpack so it gets books slammed on it everyday, and dropped ect. Im actually way harder on it then I should be. it has a corner where its missing a small chunk of plastic, it was gashed out, but that kind of comes with it being on the outside pouch of a backpack you throw around for 8 months.

The OMaker one looks good due to the dual 2.1A output and it looks the nicest in my opinion as well.
Anker also make quite good ones.

It's funny. Some people still indicate the whole rig by CPU. I used to. Like 6/7 years back from now.
