  1. I only intend to spend £400, so they are a bit out of my budget.
  2. I am thinking about upgrading my old worn out S3 at the end of the year, and I was wondering if anyone that had an LG G3 would recommend it. I am really considering this phone even considering the price point that it comes in. Thanks! Hugh
  3. I have been running windows 7 for quite some time now and frankly I just feel it is time to reinstall or install an operating system onto it, but I was wondering if it is worth upgrading to 8.1, especially when windows 10 is supposed to be coming soon.
  4. I agree with you, I think that the s3 is still a very usable phone. I mean it performs to my expectations. In all honesty custom roms are keeping the s3 alive
  5. So I start this topic off with a question, but a question that one of you readers may be asking yourself. Currently, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is a very cheap alternative into the android world, especially since when this phone originally released it was absolutely baller. But, the question is. In 2014 is the Samsung Galaxy S3 still a worthy competitor to phones like the Nexus 5? Well the short answer. Sort of. I'll elaborate on this. I currently use the Samsung Galaxy S3 as my main phone (and have done since release) and I have started to really notice this phone age quite badly (and for anyone wondering I have the international version of the phone) the begins to slow down in points that it shouldn't and the speakers, well the less said about them the better. The international version no longer gets updates either, but if you know what you are doing CyanogenMod has you covered. The good thing about this phone however is the amount of support developers are still giving this device. As it was such a mainstream phone developers started to begin to make sure that the Galaxy S3 was supported for pretty much everything, and it still is to date. Although 3D gaming isn't solid at all, I still find playing 2D games to still be a solid performer. Checking things like Facebook and Twitter etc. are also very solid at performing. The build quality on the phone isn't the greatest, it creaks and squeaks at points and I have started to notice that the removable battery cover becomes very very flimsy and sometimes doesn't hold with a case. It is made of Plastic after all. The display on this phone is a 720p amoled display but don't let it make you think that it is a bad display. Things on it are crisp and clear. However brightness is not its strong point. The camera on this phone is excellent and I believe that it can still hold up to main tasks that a point and shoot could do. The front facing camera does the job too. I must admit however that the experience on android is slow and frustrating. Things take a long time to load and the phone can get quite buggy at points. However with CyanogenMod all of those problems were solved. The battery has a 2100 mAh capacity and for the most part it does the job, if you aren't a heavy user of course. But the good point about the phone is the removable back which means you can add even bigger batteries! I haven't really talked much about the specs but I firmly believe that this phone can still do every day tasks, after all these years. The International version has a quad core processor with almost a gig of ram (I think it is 750mb but don't quote me on that). It also has NFC which if you remember at the time of this phones release was still pretty new to most people. It has the 720p 4.8" amoled display like I had stated earlier. The American region version is about the same except that it has a dual core processor with just about 2 gigabytes of ram. The american region version also comes with LTE support. To conclude, I still think that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is still a very good buy (if you aren't in the market for the most powerful or greatest) and if you are wanting to move into the android scene then this might be the phone to do it. The phone value has dropped on it significantly since release so if you can find yourself a bargain then you might want to try it. Yes the phone has been around for a long time and the design may look a bit "dated" but it is still a great phone. And one I am still happy with using. P.S. Thank you for reading this. I know it was quite long but it will hopefully help someone out there looking for a new phone. I also apologise in advance if I have posted this in the wrong Forum link as I have just recently started posting again.
  6. Thanks for the help it has fixed my problem, such a stupid mistake haha.
  7. Okay so I do not know how many of you are familiar with the programming language that game maker uses but I need your help, I do not know where I have gone wrong with my code, all the help would be appreciated
  8. Thanks for help guys, drivers were corrupt.
  9. Well I notice that when I try to render a video, nothing works, I can't even do anything, playing games, everything is really stuttery, and it is causing a really bad whine.
  10. Guys I am in need of your assistance, my ASUS AMD Radeon HD 7870 is having some bad times, basically it is running at 99% all the time, even when idling and it is creating a very high pitched whine, can you guys help me please? Thanks, if you need more info then tell me.
  11. Guys thanks for the replies, it is time I upgrade my hard drive I mean you want to see specs and wonder why I ain't got no SSD in it yet. My specs are: Processor: AMD FX-8350 Piledriver 4.0 GHz standard clock speed 8 core processor. Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 Memory: 32GB G-Skill RipjawsX Ram (8GB modules) Graphics Card: Asus AMD Radeon 7870 Hard Drives: 1TB WD Caviar Black Case: Corsair Carbide 400R.
  12. So basically I am currently using a WD Caviar Black 1TB (I know a 1TB hard drive with an os on it) and I was wondering, should I get a Samsung 840 500 GB SSD or even a 840 Pro 512GB, how much of a speed boost to expect? Thanks for all help guys!
  13. Lol SMG, something IS GOING ON, MERDA! I THINK WE ARE ON TO SOMETHING!
  14. Has anyone not realised that Linus media group shortened is LMG, and it is kind of like the name is a pun for a machine gun, Linus always picking baller names.
