  1. My father is cleaning out his office and has come across his huge collection of old software. The software ranges from the year 1980 - 2000. It includes full copies of old OS's such as Windows 98 and even OS/2 from IBM. There are other programs such as Encyclopedia Encarta and BBC's Walking With Dinosaurs movie and accompanying point-and-click adventure game! The medium is exclusively CD-ROMs and Floppy disks. There is approximately 200 CDs and Floppies in total. I was wondering if there is anywhere I could archive this software online in some public database? Or if there is anyone who would like to have the collection just let me know! If Linus would like to run them of course he can I find it a shame to throw away these old relics and I am sure there is interest for them else where
  2. Got an AMD 7770, enough said...
  3. The GFxUI.exe which is supposed to be able to be launchable from right clicking the desktop and navigating to the graphics option menu, its not, and also when launching it from the system32 folder it also doesn't run. Also when running certain games and also virtu mvp, it says the video card driver is incorrect or not properly installed, also says its missing opengl. Running dxdiag gives no feed back, the display tab is empty. And even when I downgrade the driver, windows will always tell me it is the most up to date version.
  4. Yes I have tried that exact driver. Ive checked the bios and the feature is set to load on the iGPU. And yes, the drives are "installed" but they don't work.
  5. I did plug the hdmi cable into the back of the mobo when installing the drivers, but still nothing. Its no biggie really, I use the hd7770 more often, if not always, I just wanted to get it too work.
  6. I have a pc with two gpus, one is integrated into my i5 3570k and another dedicated, an AMD HD7770 from xfx. I use the AMD almost all the time but recently I swapped to the igpu to test things. this is when I saw that the desktop resolution was set to 640x800 and the windows aero wasn't working. Finding this strange I manually tried to activate the aero but was prompted with, this video driver is not compatible with aero, so I reinstalled it. yet it still doesn't work, it wont recognize the driver and the GfxUI.exe wont run. The amd catalyst works just fine when using the dGPU. Im out of ideas of trying to make it work, ive disabled the amd catalyst driver when using the iGPU and still nothing. Please help! Info is needed: Windows 7 ultimate 64bit Asrock Z77E-ITX HD7770 XFX black edition Intel core i5 3570k ivy-bridge
  7. Im stuck with only two fan headers on my motherboards (its itx) and just curious, but would this is a possible way of getting more fan headers? Could you plug a fan header into a usb header? It would be into the power and not data pins? Maybe another header such as those that no ones uses, e.g. floppy, etc..... I see no harm in doing so as all fans require is power. If anybody has tried or know about this please post your findings!
  8. A while back (August 2012) I decided to make my own Gaming PC for the first time, I had little experience and didn't even know the meaning of CPU :P. The PC list I chose is: Motherboard - ASRock Z77E-ITX CPU - Intel 3570K (not overclocked, not planning to) GPU - XFX Radeon 7770 Overclocked edition Ram - 8Gb (2x4gb) Kingston HyperX Perfomance 2400mhz CL11 Storage - Crucial M4 128gb (Operating System) - Western Digital 1TB 7200rpm (games etc...) Power Supply - Antec High Current Gamer 520w Case - Bitfenix Prodigy DVD - Asus (No idea which, got it from a friend) This list was about 750 euros at time of purchase and I do recommend this to any early builders or those looking at a budget PC. I've been playing with it since and it has always run smoothly but it is time to upgrade! This is what I think of my build: Likes + Quick boot up time, 8 sec. + Very snappy and responsive in OS and simple application e.g. Word, IE etc.. + Most games run adequately (check bottom for more info) + Silent Issues - Warm, will operate at around 60-70 degrees when gaming and 40-50 with basic tasks. Still using the stock CPU heat sink. - Screen flashes on and off with at absolute random intervals with no pattern. - I wish to do dual monitor but I think the GPU isn't powerful enough. - The Motherboard only has 2 fan sockets, is there anyway to get/make/improvise more? - Dust magnet. Any help/tips or advice in how to improve the build, maybe what parts to buy, is greatly appreciated! Games performance all at 1920x1080 BF3 - Ultra Settings - 30fps Skyrim - 25fps Minecraft - Highest settings achievable - 160fps CoD 4 - Highest settings - 120fps Portal 2 - Highest settings - 130fps NFS most wanted - Highest settings - 40fps
