  4. Hi everyone recently my PSU has been shutting off randomly under load, only happened twice and when it boots back up the PSU fan spins at 100% RPM. I have a fully custom watercooled build and I did think at the time 850W was enough but im doubting it now since these random shut downs. Its only happened twice in 3 months I will list below what I have tried to fix it Cleaned the PSU Checked load on breakers Checked event viewer for anything power related Used a PSU calculator which says I need 1000W Checked USB ports for any issues My specs are listed below CPU: AMD 5900x RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 32GB 3200Mhz MOBO: MSI MPG Carbon Max X570S GPU: RTX 3080Ti FE Overclocked PSU: EVGA GQ 850W Storage: 1TB 970 EVO, 1TB WD SN750x2, 500GB Crucial CT500, 4TB Seagate Barracuda Case: Corsair 5000x iCUE Water Cooling Setup 1x Corsair 120mm XR5 Radiator 1x Corsair 360mm XR7 54mm Radiator 1x EK-CoolStream PE 360mm Radiator Thermaltake Pacific TF2 Temp/Flow Meter GPU Block: Corsair Hydro X Series, XG7 RGB CPU Block: Corsair Hydro X Series, XC5 RGB Fittings: EK-Torque STC & Corsair Hydro X Series XF Pump/Res: EK-Quantum Kinetic TBE 300 D5 Tubing: Corsair Hydro X Series XT Softline Liquid: Corsair Hydro X Series XL5 Clear Fans: 10x Corsair SP120 RGB

  7. i had a 2700k with a gtx 970, perfect match
  8. I recently purchased a brand new MSI armor RTX 2070 and every game crashes, no overclock, frame rates are perfect and the card seems to be using its resources fine, I have reinstalled windows, ran DDU, reseated the GPU in the motherboard, is this a case of rma?
  9. have you tried contacting support on thermal grizzlys site, seems like this shouldn't have happened
  10. its just one line of there products they recommend this for all the rest are rated for use with any metal
  11. They do recommend you use it with a nickle plated heat sink on there website
  12. As someone whos got 2 GTX 970s in sli I recommend against using sli its bad and hardly any games support it. Theres also constant bugs and issues
  13. Cheets for the help gonna have a look for one
  14. Its a possibility , cheap enough cpu that if i mess it up delidding i wouldnt be too sad , mines currently lapped atm so I would be doing that too , do they overclock well?
  15. Worth the money bought my 1155 platform back in 2012 its done me well
  16. Thanks for the help , looks like its time to upgrade to maybe 8700k/9700k
  17. Runs fine without the oc , just weird after 5 years its having issues, kinda need the oc to keep up with my gfx cards the cpu is old now and starting to show its age clocked at 4.5ghz , think its time to upgrade Its done well haha
  18. Recently ive been getting crashes and freezes , my cpu has been running 4.5Ghz at 1.42 Volts for 5 years no problem, recently it has been freezing during games and under heavy loads. Video rendering ect. Is the cpu finally on its last legs or is it something I can fix , ive already tried giving it more volts and ran memtest and tested the psu and all other parts , everything else is spot on cpu is an i7 2700k ps temps are all good too
  19. I tried this and it solved the problem both gpus are the same temp at idle and at full load, thanks a lot
  20. ill give that a go cheers
  21. I always thought that the top card would be hotter because heat rises, the temps aint bad its just the difference is so much between the 2 cards
  22. yeah they are both EVGA ACX 2.0 SC
  23. I recently purchased a second gtx 970 , my first card it fine and runs great, overclocks perfect and temps are spot on , 66 degrees under load and 35 at idle , however I bought a second gtx 970 to sli but the card is terrible it overclocks really badly and the temps are 10 degrees higher than my other card. Also my 4 displays are connected to my first gtx 970 not my new one, so it cant be that causing the heat issues. Things ive tried: New thermal paste on both cards added a fan to push air in the gap of the sli removed the overclock increased the fan speed all drivers are up to date Thanks
