Diceair got a reaction from Rem0o in FanControl, my take on a SpeedFan replacement
Thanks for this app. I legit was looking for something that was going to replace speedfan as I find my MSI z170 board has one of the worste fan control. I wanted my  GPU  Radiator fans (g12 with h75) to ramp up according to gpu temps and also my case fans to do so as cpu temps is always good except when gaming it needs to go full or near full blast and speedfan was good but some games like Rainbow six siege will block it and this app works just fine.

Again 1000x thanks for this awesome app.

ok just an update so I got the rm750x and it works. i can switch on the pc with the power button again. I tried the PSU test on the old AX850 and I have to do the same thing where I have to press the power switch on and off on the psu.

    So glad it works now.

Diceair reacted to GSTARR in 4 cores vs 8 cores CPU's better in Gaming ??
    I have a 5820k, a hexacore. But it's bullshit honestly lmfao
When I play games that are cpu intensive I usually have to deal with a slow game or bad looking graphics or something like that due to the fact that it doesn't make use of hyper-threading, so when I look at software only one of my cores is doing all the work and the other 11 are just sitting there. Makes me very frustrated

Limit the FPS to 30 to avoid hurting your eyes or throw that pc away and get a Xbox one as it's slow enough to not hurt the eyes. msot games don't run 1080p due to the fact that 1080p is to sharp for your eyes.

Diceair got a reaction from Wickens in Is it worth me upgrading this year, or waiting for the next generation?
I always say. if you get the fps you need then no reason to upgrade unless you want one specific feature. I say wait a bit. If you on 1080p 60hz and you get 60fps in most games then no point upgrading but if you wnat to go either 1440p60hz, 1440p/1440hz or 1080p/144hz then I say upgrade but for now I think your card should be fine. Next year pascal will be worthwhile according to what's been rumored so far. Start saving now for a beast monitor and pascal GPU because when it launch you will have enough money to get the best gpu and the best screen I suppose or at least enough money to upgrade.

Also wait for dx12 to come cause that will make games even faster. I was also thinking of upgrading from r9 280x crossfire to gtx980ti. I'm on 2560x1440 @ 96hz but I'm still going to wait for dx12 titles to come out to see where things are going cause I have the feeling dx12 will breath some life into my gpu's again. So all in all wait for pascal I should say.

Should've tested bf4 with mantle. I would love to see if the e8400 work a bit better.

Diceair got a reaction from Jgeorge610 in should i upgrade? (Help)
if you run 1080p 60hz monitor and actually get 60fps in the games you play I would say no. i would say no not worth upgrading as the r9 270x is good for 1080p 60fps gaming. I would wait for the cards to come after the 900 series. I'm also thinking of upgrading from r9 280x crossfire but I'm running 1440p@96Hz

Sorry for the confusion guys. I only have 2x r9 280x cards. I don't care if my pc looks bad now. I would rather make it look a bit uglier and get better performance. So I will really think about it. I hate cutting things cause when you do something wrong there's no going back

That's rather expensive but yet again upgrading to 4790k also expensive. I can maybe also try to sell both cards and get a r9-290 gaming. Back whenI was still running crossfire I could play bf4 on ultra 2xmsaa ssao and no post aa and get almost 120fps all the time. The only issue was the fact that my old 2500k that's in a work pc now was holding me back, so far with 1 card since I enabled mantle it has been working great so if i can crossfire again I can maybe test mantle to see if it will be better. I can almost maintain 70-95 fps with 1 card in most games on about high to medium details and no aa except for games like crysis etc etc.

Diceair got a reaction from i_build_nanosuits in what motherboard to go for
Knowing haswell you not going to overclock much better with a more advanced motherboard. the gaming 5 looks like the best solution for me. I'm going to go crossfire and only a few hdd so nothing really too much except for the crossfire. I was running a z77a-g45 thunderbolt board until the pci-e went faulty. I'm just waiting for 4790 to come out then I will buy everything I need.

Yeah i know people that will go for extreme motherboards with 4 way sli/crossfire and then they only add 1 mid range gpu.

So should i wait or get 2 R9 280x and overclock them a bit? I'm running 2560x1440 @ 96Hz. I was looking at some of the benchmarks on the r9-280x and it looks like it compete with the 770 and some times it's faster plus I get mantle so expect the R9-290x to perform even better and maybe the crossfire scale will get closer to 2x performance. I live in south africa so the shops here will only have it by mid November or early November. My GTX 570sli has had it's days. I get massive stutter in some games and so on due to the bad fermi sli and vram limit.

This test was done poorly. I should say test some more games. Only Tomb Raider is not enough. Test some Crysis 3, metro:Last Light, Bioshock, Battlefield 3, ETC ETC. And also install the latest drivers
