  1. Hmm should not do that as I have laptop running win7 and it uses Ethernet when plugged in and wifi when unplugged.
  2. Hey, by default it should choose Ethernet over wifi, if not most laptop's have a disable wifi switch key (on keyboard or side) you may wish to toggle. If you do not like that solution you may wish to follow this guide (http://superuser.com/questions/247601/make-windows-7-ignore-wifi-when-ethernet-is-available) showing how to reprioritize the connections.
  3. I used Windows Defender paired with Malwarebytes. Found it to be a very strong combination, havent had virus, malware or anything really in years, but then again I usually watch what i download hahaha. Cheers!
  4. Haha ok I'll look into it I just kind thought having 4Gb of DDR5 was good enough Thanks !
  5. Actually haha my system is running on 2 Kingston SSD's so the main bottleneck I felt was the CPU. Sounds good haha I guess I'll make a new post tomorrow with the real results of how I found it! Thanks for the feedback guys much appreaciated!
  6. I guess giving a few games might help people gauge better, I play alot of; Minecraft, Terraria, BF4, GTA V, and ARK survival. Ill try to average here but ill also add it AMD fps; Minecraft 120+ no problem here, Terraria 120+ no problem here, BF4 50-60 fps, GTA V 30-40 fps, and ARK 20-30 playable but could better.
  7. Oh sorry typo lmao thank for that. Hmm for me I found the AMD A10 to be the bottle neck as the GPU would not be fully utilized but the CPU (A10) would get pinned at 100%
  8. So my rig (yesturday) had an AMD A10 7700k, 16 Gb Corsair vengence ram, and a R9 270x video card. Today I purchased a new motherboard and intel i5 6400, will this give better proformace due to college I have not had time to install it yet and was wondering if anyone else had input on if hte i5 should proform 'or will proform better?'. All feedback welcome.
  9. Hey guys in the following video I show simple method to encrypt and drive or USB, using veracrypt which is the succesor to Truecrypt. This is compatible with Windows (all versions), linux and mac. For linux the installation will very. Also my first tutorial so any feedback is good to thanks. Hope this helps someone! Text version here: Step 1: Head over to veracrypt and download an installer (for your os) https://veracrypt.codeplex.com/releases/view/616110 Step 2: After running the installation process open veracrypt in administrator mode. Step 3: After vera opens click on the create volume button in the lower left. Step 4: You will have three options choose number 1 for making and encrypted file and number 2 which is what we are using for making an encrypted drive/usb. Step 5: You will be prompted again with two choices now one for a Standard encryption and Hidden encryption. Hidden is like a hidden partition or section of "your device" that will not show up. An standard is just creating a regular encrypted volume. Step 6: Next you will be faced with a screen that will ask you to choose the drive you would like to encrypt do be careful as all drives will show up here. Step 7: After you have chosen your drive click next at the bottom. Step 8: Now you will have to choose you encryption method and algorithm Step 9: Choose an algorithm that you feel safe with, google the names to find which suit you. Step 10: For this tutorial we will stick with AES that is encrypting in 512. Step 11: You can leave the hash at default if you wish. Step 12: You will now be shown a overview of you device that is being encrypted and the size of it then click next. Step 13: Choose a password that you will remember and that is a minimum of 20 characters, number and symbols. Step 14: You make choose have a file unlock instead of a password or along side a password then click next after you have finished. Step 15: Now choose the files system you wish to have on the volume after encryption such as NTFS or Fat32, then click format. Step 16: This could take up to 12 hours! Depending on the size of your drive and encryption method (algorithm) Step 17: After you drive has been formatted and encrypted it will not show up. Step 18: You will need to go into veracrypt click on a drive letter and then in the bottom click select device and look for your device via (name or size) and then click open. Step 19: After clicking open in the bottom right of vera click mount. Step 20: You will be prompted to enter your password or keyfile. Step 21: You will be prompted with a loading bar that could take a few minutes depending again on the size of your drive and encryption method. Step 22: Your done! Open your file manager and view your drive! Step 23: To dismount your drive after adding files open vera select the drive letter and click dismount. Step 24: Enjoy! PS. Did my best to grammar check this.
  10. Hey I tried the ddu but with no luck, and I did try restoring but also no luck any ideas I also recently like just yesturday moved to win10 so I restored back to 7 to see if that would help.
  11. So my pc has an AMD A8 7600 APU and a R9 270 by sapphire they were working well until I tried amd's Crimson driver. After that every game crashes at start up (due to driver problems) so I removed it and reinstalled the base the driver that I was using before (Catalyst control 15.7.1) but I'm still crashing and can't fix it o-o help?
  12. Doesn't windows usually auto adjust? to fit to best quality? Also my monitors are 1920 x 1080p the wallpaper is 2880 × 1800
  13. So I use 2x 24" Nec MultiSync monitors and recently I got a new wallpaper I was using on my mac that is approx (23.4MB). Its a large image that is like super hi rez, but on my windows machince when I set was wallpaper or right click set as wallpaper my explorer freezes up and crash then defaults back to the old / previous wallpaper. I can set the wallpaper to practically any other image just not this large one. Any ideas how to fix this or what the bug might be? If this helps.. System Specs: - AMD A10 7700k BE - Sapphire r270x (4Gb) - 16 Gb Corsair vengence ram - 2 x Kingston 512 SSD - 4 x Western Digital Blue 1 Tb harddrives Thanks any help is much appreciated.
  14. Have you tried reenabling it under extensions? Sometimes chrome does updates that turns off certain extension. Also if it is enabled then uninstall it and try to reinstall it, I had this problem just had to reenable it in my case.
  15. What OS are you trying to install? If you doing a windows clean install it should auto formate to the correct table, if you using linux you may need to use Gparted to manually edite the table.
  16. Sounds more like windows 10 BSOD, so I would recommend checking direct x installation. IF you still get the problem take a screenshot and send it.
  17. Ahh kk thanks I'll try that o-o 50+ gb download bruh O_O
  18. Hey question, when I upgraded to Win10 my GTA V textures ingame sometimes lag and take a few seconds to load up whiles on win7 they were instant. Any ideas?
  19. You may need to download and install the USB driver for the motherboard. Via the Gigabyte website also that driver should include the USB3.0 host controller driver.
  20. Not complete familiar with but does this model have a wifi toggle switch?
  21. I would recommend trying to boot up, a bootale USB with a linux distro and try to run (not install) just to see if the laptop itself will boot to a usable environment. I doo believe it is the HDD too but check just in case. Let me know how it goes! Also if you need help creating a bootable USB let me know!
  22. I agree with Lethal on this one what PSU do you have? (watts?)
  23. Most modern GPU's fans will actually not spin unless under heavy load or the temp range for the fans to be off is passed, so in this case I believe it is nothing to be worried about, though run afterburner (MSI) to check the temps and see if they look like there in a healthy position. If not then you have a problem on your hands. (PS Mine dont always spin even under load when my room is cool enough so i would not worry.)
