  1. ThinkTank Mirrorless Mover. ThinkTank Retrospective. ONA Brixton or similar if you want to spend all your money. Billingham if you want to spend all your money and take out a mortgage.
  2. Used a Leica M-240 for about two weeks - so much fun. As much as I think it's really overpriced, the feel of the camera is just so nice. (still not going to buy one though).

  4. Another vote for the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 lens, it really is amazing and there'e nothing else like it out there.
  5. Are you not bothered to manage your cables now? Anyway, I cheaped out somewhat on my PSU, picked up a Cougar 850W bronze hoping to go crossfire but I haven't. I swear it's currently the loudest part of my build...
  6. The 5Ds is pretty much confirmed as being a 50.6MP full frame and is coming next week.
  7. Look at the Canon XA20 Camcorder: Price: $2000 from B&H AVCHD on SD: dual SD slots with 1080 at 60p Audio Inputs: 2 x XLR, 1 x 3.5mm TRS Manual controls: yes Removable battery: yes
  8. In Sydney, the power delivery is generally very stable and I haven't experienced any full blackouts for years. I don't have a UPS personally because I haven't been able to afford one, but I'm looking to get one just as assurance the in the event of any electrical anomalies my electronics/data will be fine.
  9. Got a Corsair Carbide 500R in white.
  10. Most video rendering stresses the CPU the most, then GPU. RAM works as a cache for everything: previews, snippets of video Storage is generally not much of an issue as long as you're not running an almost full 5400rpm drive.
  11. I was going to recommend the Zoom H1, it has excellent audio quality and can be used as a USB microphone. Cheaper than that, I'm not sure you would get anything of a high quality...
  12. Are you looking to film scenes where you are planning everything and have time to set up, or more on the go journalistic style shooting? That can change the response from the T2i recommended above or a camcorder which will be able to keep things in focus much easier than a DSLR.
  13. Definitely pick up a new lens, it'll give you much better image quality as long as you don't need to blow up your images big. Contrary to the people recommending 24-70's, unless you're planning on upgrading to full frame they are generally not a focal length that I'd recommend for a X0D because of the smaller sensor. The lenses that I would recommend the most in that price range are: Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 - Fast aperture, cheap and excellent image quality Canon 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 - Ultra wide angle if you want to do landscapes Canon 50mm f/1.4 - Fast prime with significantly better build quality Canon 55-250mm f/4-5.6 - Stabilised telephoto lens if you need more reach
  14. With more RAM, you will be able to have longer previews on video editors as well as being able to cache more information - speeding up your workflow. As for mine, it's in my signature, and I am primarily a photographer with editing done in Lightroom, PhotoShop and some in Photomatix.
