Industry Affiliates are representatives of companies within the computer industry. Their posting privileges are the same as standard members, and while they are able (and encouraged) to interact with the LinusTechTips.com community outside of talking about their products or services, they should always keep in mind the way their behavior reflects on their company. Industry Affiliates are required to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner to all moderators, administrators, general members, and other Industry Affiliates. To ensure that LinusTechTips.com can maintain fair treatment of all Industry affiliates, we have created these guidelines:

All Industry Affiliates (employees of tech companies) must identify themselves if they intend to promote their company, products, or services in any way. Industry Affiliates may truthfully answer questions about their own products and may assist members with technical and warranty support for their products in almost any context. It is still acceptable even in situations where the original post is not about the Industry Affiliate's product as long as it doesn't derail the thread. Industry Affiliates may not recommend their own products to a user who is not already specifically asking about them. When that happens, the Industry Affiliate may clarify the features and value of his or her products, as well as help the Original Poster to understand the similar products that are also available within their product stack. This should not be interpreted as an opportunity to "upsell" and only educational information with a basis in fact will be acceptable. No snake oil marketing strategies will be tolerated from Industry Affiliates. We take reports from members about "marketing BS / manipulation" very seriously. Industry Affiliates' member profiles and signatures must adhere to our standard guidelines, but may also contain one link to their official company support website Industry Affiliates are encouraged to engage naturally with the community rather than taking a strictly "business-like" approach to their interactions. It's worth considering that by being a helpful part of the community, you will build trust with our members, moderators, and administrators, which will lend credibility to you as an individual and to your company. Industry Affiliates are expected to set a positive example for the rest of the community by being trustworthy sources of information, and by adhering not only to the Industry Affiliate Code of Conduct, but also the general Community Standards

Whiskers reacted to Jonasity in RTX Voice not detecting Mic
    Hey guys,
I'm not sure if this will help, but I had the same issue myself, and managed to figure it out. The problem that I had created for RTX Voice was that I had disabled the NVIDIA RTX Voice speakers under the Playback tab of the Windows Sound Control Panel. At the time, I did it because I thought there was no use to having the RTX Voice speakers there, but disabling it is what prevents the application starting up in the first place. To solve this, I had to launch up RTX Voice, and as it was starting up, located the RTX Voice Speakers under Playback and quickly enabled them before it spewed the error, and that seemed to have fixed the problem.

Once again, my situation for the error is quite specific, so if you have not by chance disabled any RTX Voice Playback or Recording in the Sound Control Panel, then I am afraid this solution might not work for you. Check it anyways, perhaps it might've been disabled automatically for some reason, but this was the issue I encountered and the solution I managed to find.

Ridge Racer 1 and 2 are both well worth picking up imo. Fun arcadey goodness, and a surprising amount of content for handheld racing games of the era. Also great soundtracks.

The LocoRoco games are worth checking out too. And the two God of War games (Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta) are pretty great.

All GTA games are awesome, although be aware of CTW being topdown, while I enjoyed it too, it's not like the others, so if someone didn't start GTA until they went 3D I could see them not necessarily digging it. But if you enjoyed GTA2, you should find it worth your while.
I also remember the Syphon Filter games being a blast and I don't usually even prefer stealth, although disclaimer here that I played them literally over a decade ago. Dang, it's been a minute.
Burnout Dominator was also a blast.
There's a ton of good games for the device.

    My favorite PSP games are:
    Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Crysis Core - Final Fantasy VII
    Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble
    Tomb Raider: Legend
    Persona 2: Innocent Sin
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
Way of The Samurai 2 (Japanese)
    Midnight Club: LA Remix
    God Eater Burst

The quality of those games is in parity with AAA PC/Console games from back in the day which is pretty good!

PSP was an exceptional console in terms of how different were the games released on it. My personal benefits are the Silent Hill games (both of them), Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command, and Killzone: Liberation. It is also a great PS1 emulator console, I've beat many PS1 games on PSP.
As for the inexpensive but great games - try Gran Turismo, it came with PSPs for free, so there are millions of copies of that one out there.

Whiskers reacted to Other James in LMG Sponsor Complaints
    Hey everyone,

Regarding War Thunder, we reached out to Gaijin Entertainment regarding some of the issues brought up in this thread.

The first of the complaints to address is about them running a campaign on the Donetsk People's Republic YouTube channel. This was something that was brought to Gaijin's attention almost immediately, and in the article that was written about it, this was addressed and they made sure to point out that those videos had been pulled from the DPR YouTube channel.

The other complaints, unfortunately, are true of most massively-multiplayer competitive games, especially free ones. Whenever we get offers for these free-to-play games, we have a few team members play the game, or reach out to individuals we know that play in order to secure feedback. And the feedback around War Thunder has been mostly positive; we know it won't be for everyone, but up until now we've felt comfortable promoting it. Diablo: Immortal, RAID Shadow Legends on the other hand, are examples of games that failed this test, and are examples of games we don't want to promote.

The LTT Forum is now 10 years old! What started out as an experiment hosted in Linus's garage has now become a thriving community of tech enthusiasts, with some pretty impressive numbers, thanks in no small part to all of you!

The forum has come a long way from the incredibly unstable VBulletin 5 beta that we started out with in 2013, and I hope you will agree that it looks far better today than it did back then:

The forum exists because of its awesome community. As a small way of giving back, we're going to give away some 1 year Gold Contributor memberships, which give you Floatplane access, based on recent activity on the forum. The giveaway criteria are:
5 will be randomly assigned to the authors of posts made in the past 3 months (so your chance of winning is proportional to the number of posts you have made in the past 3 months), to give something back to everyone that makes this community awesome. Posts removed by a moderator, and posts in Test Posts, do not qualify. 10 will be randomly assigned to members who joined the forum in or before 2015 and have made at least one post on the forum in the past 3 months, to thank our most loyal members. 5 will be given to the members with the most posts that were marked as the best answer in the past 3 months, to say thanks to the members that give the most back to the community. Posts where a member marked their own post as best answer are excluded. Winners will be drawn later this week, and notified via PM by me. The full list of winners will be published here once all winners have accepted their prize.

All winners have now been contacted and received their prize

    Ts&Cs:
Max one prize per user If a winner already has a Gold Contributor subscription, they will get 1 year free starting from their next billing period Current moderators and administrators, and employees of LMG or its subsidiaries, are not eligible The giveaways will be drawn in the order listed. If an ineligible user is drawn (per points 1 and 3 above), an additional winner will be drawn. Winners will have 7 days from being notified via PM to accept the prize (by replying to the PM), otherwise their prize will be redrawn under the same rules. No cash value, non-transferrable, run at our own discretion, etc. Please don't get mad if you don't win. "Past 3 months" means between 00:00 on 01 October 2022 and 23:59 on 31 December 2022 inclusive, all UTC (so it's too late to try and game the system now). "In or before 2015" means the "Joined" field on the account is before 00:00 UTC on 01 January 2016.

I'm a 63-year-old gay man who lives with his parents! 40-year-old virgin ain't got nothin' on me. How many times have you heard this: I don't live with my parents! My parents live with me! I've finally stopped saying that. I'm back in the old town, in the old house. Things are fine.

I feel like it's much harder on guys to act feminine or feel like you'd be happier as a woman without just coming out a trans.
Women can act or look slightly masculine and we just get referred to as tomboys, the trans discussion rarely ever comes up in those cases. I would refer to myself as maybe tomboy-lite, I was always one of "the boys" in school, but never once has anyone asked me "maybe you're trans" even all the way up to today, is a strange double standard you guys get to deal with 😞

im Lucky enough to have accepting friends and live within 30 minutes of a very accepting town, and I was already planning to go into town with someone and get some fem clothes (yay my first skirt!) and I might wear them around that town a bit (depending on how brave I am)
but I’m lucky. Most people don’t have that privilege to be able to do that.

There are tons of people that use notebooks like these. I use notebooks, however I prefer to just get the $1 ones from the dollar store since they're not notes I'd keep. This is not the same for everyone. Some people like to keep journals, in which case these make perfect sense.

There are probably more people that would want something not made of real leather, than those that would want real leather. Especially in the LTT audience.
