  1. Yeah just strange that it can see it but not at the same time!
  2. It's a Gigabyte X79 UP4 and it supports up to 64GB of ram
  3. I bought 32GB of TridentX for a really good deal and I put them in my X79 UP4. I checked the manual to verify the proper ram slots. It booted fine and showed all 32GB in bios BUT one stick is seeming not to work, the other three sticks appear in the memory channel but the fourth doesn't. I've moved the stick around other channels and the problem followed. Under the Windows System info it says 24GB whereas CPU-Z reports 32GB of RAM but only reports "Triple" under the Channel section. I've tried cleaning the contacts but it didn't seem to help. Any advice? I'm hoping there is some life left in it since it still shows up in certain parts.
  4. I bought the case and I managed to put in a 360mm in the bottom with a 280mm in the front using the provided fans. The 360mm can only fit 2 fans on top and then I fit 3 under the case, the clearance underneath is not enough, but only needs about 5-10mm more. I'll post some pictures at some point, not an easy build!
  5. This is what I'm wondering as well, if so then it's the perfect case for me!
  6. I feel like the 8xAA was what killed the scores. I don't remember anyone using 8xAA back in the day, I had a 8800GTX and I definitely didn't, so not really a good representation for the old cards especially if they were hitting their VRAM limit. Other than that it was a cool video just wish the old ones had a fighting chance!
  7. We just need some coding genius that can re-enable the code in newer drivers. Any takers? Haha
  8. I got excited but this looks like it doesn't work with SLI?
  9. Yeah but Nvidia Control Panel still requires you to close programs such as Chrome, Logitech Gaming Software, Spotify etc. All of which I would really rather not close.
  10. For any of you out there that have had surround for a while may have noticed that a few months ago Nvidia disabled the ability for us to easily use the Winkey+P function to change from "Extended" (two monitors) to "Second Screen Only" (which enabled all three in surround). Nvidia wants us to us their own keyboard shortcut to turn surround on and off but the problem is that it requires you to close certain programs and in general takes a lot longer not to mention when enabling it again it forgets the custom bezel corrected resolutions that you've set. All round it's a horrible experience using Nvidia's solution compared to Winkey+P which takes all of 2 seconds. Using three monitors in surround mode for desktop use is not viable since maximising a window spans it all the way across the screen and using Winkey+arrows to snap makes the window span 1.5 monitors... <_< For those of us experiencing these problems the only solution (I know of) is using older drivers, specifically 327.23, which I believe is the newest one that still supports Winkey+P. Though once this drivers gets too old to support newer games we may be out of luck since Nvidia doesn't seem to be addressing the problem. Anyone out there have any other easy alternatives?
  11. Awesome photography skills! What camera are you using? That liquid looks so epic.
  12. @jake657 also since you live in a major city you could have a look on Gumtree for things like cases, peripherals etc. When I was living in Sydney I got my Cosmos 2 for $220, perfect condition
  13. That's what the cpu cooler is for. 4.2ghz+ should do Arma justice. Plus I'm sure he won't use it to play Arma exclusively for the rest of the machines life, he'll play other hardcore games like Barbie Island Adventure 3000: Xtreme Survival
  14. Do you have Windows or any hard drives etc from an old computer you could salvage? If you don't need any of those you could save $283 and based on my build @ $1740 - $283 = $1457 + another GTX780 @ $579 = $2036
