Yog got a reaction from Qwweb in Ryzen 3 & 5 launch rumor
They're doing it to maximize their profits. The highest tier is going to have the highest profit margins so they want to release that first so people who originally would have purchased a mid-tier CPU but don't want to wait will buy a high-tier. Then they release the mid-tier to catch some low-tier purchasers. And then the low-tier.

Well, to be honest I don't care enough to go through that sort of trouble. All I'll say more is it depends on the contracts they all signed to go into business with each other. And also, it really just sounds like nobody knows what's going on and are just blaming Logan because they like wendell more. I mean, that's somewhat valid, everyone does that, but keep in mind that just because you like somebody and dislike somebody else doesn't mean that the person you like is telling the truth and the person you dislike is lying.

Yog got a reaction from JAKEBAB in Tesla will soon have some new Autopilot safety restrictions after a series of accidents
I think they just added the feature too soon. Look at google. They've been doing this far longer and they're still not ready to release it. It's just a bit irresponsible...like a microwave manufacturer creating a new feature that sometimes ends in explosions and death if you actually use it the way its intended but thinks it can just slap a warning sign on it that says "use at your own risk" to make it better. You're better off not using it but if the company says "oh yeah, it's completely safe, we just put the label on there to make sure you're paying attention anyway" you're going to use it.

Yog got a reaction from Sauron in Nvidia's Ansel has "borrowed" a lot of code from modder.
If you've done any coding you'll know that you're often going online to find what you need and then tweak it to make it your own...t's a waste of time to do a lot of work that's already done, reinventing the wheel every time you make a program. You don't always keep super good track of everything you've taken from other sources. I'm sure this guy knows that, probably has done it himself, and doesn't consider it a huge deal...especially now that they're giving him credit. It's not like it's some nefarious plan by Nvidia corporate to steal the hard fought code of poor struggling programmers...it's just a bunch of guys in cubicals trying to get their job done as best they can. To make a huge deal out of this means some of those guys would get fired since nobody but them are to be blamed.

I'm all for states rights...I actually think the Federal Government assuming rights that were originally the states is one of the biggest problems in the US...but for the life of me I can't think of a good reason why a state, even a small state, should be able to make this sort of restriction for all of its cities/municipalities.

It specifically says "for the purpose of committing a crime"...which does not make using it illegal, it only adds another charge to someone who commits a crime while using one.

Honestly I don't see the problem. If you can make money doing something you like why on earth shouldn't you? This is the same treatment people first got when they started making money through youtube and twitch...and they still get it by people who are stuck in the past. I mean, people seem to project some sort of moral superiority on these new ways of making money and this isn't even a moral issue.

Granted, I think it's a stupid idea, it's unlikely to be able to continue making her money for very long (as demand for these accounts diminish) but it's hardly something to throw in the towel on humanity. Comparatively there are far worse things you can do to make money and they've been happening for...pretty much the extent of human existence and we've not died out yet.

Yog reacted to Sakkura in Nintendo Stocks DOWN 18% after they explain they don't own Pokemon Go, or Pokemon all together.
It's more than just that they don't own Pokemon fully, it's also that Pokemon Go is licensed to Niantic, so Niantic gets all the revenue, then pays licensing fees to the Pokemon company, and Nintendo then owns a share of that share.

Yog got a reaction from Ominous in Warner Brothers paid some YouTubers to make positive game reviews and didn't disclose this
Giving those youtubers the benefit of the doubt, Shadow of Mordor was a pretty good game (at least, so I heard, never played it) and liked by a lot of people. It's completely possible they wouldn't have given a negative review anyway. They could have just taken the money because it's something they agreed with anyway, maybe they were planning on making a positive review anyway? Who wouldn't take money for doing something you were going to do anyway?

At first I thought "a cloud connected keyboard? that's super dumb" but seeing what it actually does, it seems like it would be SUPER helpful for me. This would solve a lot of problems I have with keeping track of things. None of the productivity apps work for me because i just don't think to ever check them, or I just turn them off when the alarm sounds (yeah, I know...I'll get to in a minute...and then I forget)...but with this being in my face, my R key glowing red, showing me I need to get to work, I don't think I'd be able to ignore it for long. I only wish I had it 15 years ago. Honestly this might be the first time I use kickstarter...and I feel comfortable doing it with Das Keyboard because they're already a successful keyboard maker.

I needed a new keyboard too.

Seems like a rather large stretch. He's essentially blaming the currency, or the maker of the currency, for the gambling. The same reasoning would allow you to sue the US Treasury because people can use cash as collateral in gambling.

Yeah, because the Chinese government never lies and their designs are always original and never stolen. I'm not saying they're lying in this instance, I have no idea about the state of Chinese semiconductor technology, but they have a pretty solid track record of stealing technologies and claiming it's their own so I would not be surprised of that's what they did here.
