What don't you like about it? Can you recommend other models? I'm currently trying to scout the market. I would be surprised if the TN panel in the Dell is of any particularly impressive quality. I have no doubt IPS is superior, but I is it worth the extra cash on a budget... The RAM is not soldered in. It is quite replaceable and Dell even provide a service manual.

I have a 250 GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD in my current laptop, which is due for a replacement. So I would put that SSD in the new machine and then purchase some more RAM.

Hi all I am looking at two models of the Dell Inspiron 13 5368 2-in-1 laptops. Model A has 7th gen i3, 4 GB DDR4, 1 TB HDD and no IPS panel for the equivalent of 711 USD. Model B has 7th gen i5, 8 GB DDR4, 250 GB SSD and IPS panel for the equivalent of 925 USD. I have an SSD and I would upgrade model A to 8 GB RAM so the only real difference between the two after I purchase the RAM is the IPS panel and ~150 $ price difference. I will use the laptop for school - note taking, reading PDF's, writing assignments etc. - and everyday casual stuff. So my question is whether the IPS panel is worth the extra money in my use scenario? Other laptops in that price range I should have a look at? Thanks!

Hi everyone My OneDrive has started acting up in the past few days. First, updates got unreliable and the cloud-icon on my taskbar would show the blue arrows while indicating that it is looking for changes and saying that it was last updated, for instance, and hour ago. This would happen even though I hadn't changed or added anything in the files on the drive. I pulled all my files from OneDrive and saved them locally to make sure there would be no corruption. If I put a file in my OneDrive folder now, my laptop will tell me that it is uploaded, but it is hit and miss whether the file will show up on my phone or on my tablet. Furthermore, if I shut down my pc, sometimes I will find the file I just tried to upload in the recycle bin. I have tried restarting OneDrive, and I have tried to go to settings and ask it to not use OneDrive to fetch files on my pc. Neither worked. I just updated to Anniversary Update yesterday, but that did not help either. There used to be a setting on the onedrive webpage where you could see a list of the computers connected to your profile and remove them individually. This setting fixed a similar problem for me a while back, but now I cannot find it. Any ideas how I may fix this problem and maybe "reset" OneDrive? Thanks!

It's an accessory, a jewellery if you will. A nice watch looks good, compliments your clothes and shoes and makes a statement to the people around you. Also, it is impolite to look at your phone in a social context even if it's just to tell time, but a quick glance at your wrist is not. And if you are in to that sort of stuff it is fascinating how they work. :-)

The result is the same - consumers get what they want. They didn't propose said features to deliberately piss of anyone. They had an idea and they misjudged how people would react to it. Whether they changed those features because they cared for consumer opinion or because they wanted to sell consoles, they changed it in the way the majority wanted. That being said, it's a company. They exist to make money. I find people often take these things way too personal.

The Division is out and is mostly received well if you ignore all the obligatory nonsense hate. I got to spend 2 hours in the beta and it appealed to me. I liked the setting, the style, the 3rd person point of view and the gameplay - a least in my two hours. Thing is none of my friends are into gaming so it's gonna be me alone, which is fine in most games were co-op is a feature. But it seems in The Division co-op is the intention. So my question is based on your experience with the game would it be a waste to get it if I have no one to play with? And is the matchmaking a viable and enjoyable way of playing co-op in main missions as well as in the Dark Zone? Currently I'm waiting for the reviews before I make my final decision but it would be nice to hear your opinions. I'll get it for Xbox if I decide to get it.

I don't get this. Microsoft completely changed their plans for the Xbox and the software updates contain many featured requested by the community in the suggestions forums. I think Microsoft are treating their customers rather well. The amount of feedback they have listened to an worked with since the first Xbox One announcement is quite impressive if you ask me.

What would happen if you format the drive and install Windows 7 on it with the disc as if it was a new computer you just build?

This will be a short rant. I post because of the possibility that I am overlooking something that could explain this odd behaviour. Here goes. The virtual desktop feature in Windows 10 is awesome. I use it all the time. However, one specific feature annoys the crap out of me. I often have multiple Word documents open at the same time. So lets say I have 3 virtual desktops open and I have sorted my open Word documents between them, if I go to desktop 2 or 3 to open a new document (which I have decided belongs to that desktop!), Windows 10 still insists on automatically scrolling back to desktop 1 and open it there. What the heck?! The same goes for web browsers and really any programme which has an instance(s) running on multiple desktops. This means that instead of just opening the document like I wanted, I have to Open document -> win+tab to open overview -> drag the window back to desktop 3 with the mouse where it belongs -> go to desktop 3 to view it with the other documents in its category. Man, this is annoying. I have to perform a finger circus on my keyboard and mouse every single time I open a document. Not really user friendly... //rant With that out of the way, I'm curious how you experience this behaviour in your daily use? Is there a reason this is actually a clever design or is it a design flaw? Btw I have it set up so that icons and windows only appear on the desktop I'm using.

Great! I'll probably figure it out but I know little about writing scripts. I was thinking a programme operating more like "What do you want you key to do -> macro/programme/other functionality" and then "Press the key you want to do it". I don't know if something like that exists. I'll give AutoHotKey a go, though. I might actually learn something. After reading a bit in the tutorial, I wonder how will I know what my bloatware key is called? Obviously, I cannot recognize it as the j-key or a number-key. Is there I way I can tell how Windows sees it?

My laptop has a button dedicated to some bloatware I uninstalled ages ago. Now, the key does nothing when I press it. I wonder if there is a software solution which would allow me to map a programme, a keyboard combination or other forms of functionality to it? I figure I might as well have it do something rather than nothing. Thanks!

Do you happen to be in tablet mode? I'm not sure if that is what I'm looking at tbh.

I have an Xbox One, no Kinect. I'm not sure what you mean it spies on you? You can choose in the settings that it actually turns off instead of going to hibernate (so it can download updates in the background) when you press the button, but even when it's sleeping it has no eyes or ears. So as I said, I'm not sure what you mean it spies. I don't know how Kinect changes this, but when it's turned off, it's turned off, especially if you kill the power (which I often do anyway).

And I guess Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile that you find on phones use the same architecture? And because of the different architectures, getting Windows 10 Mobile to work on an RT device would require a rebuild and a lot of work?

As I don't know much about software, I am trying to understand the reason why Microsoft did not push Windows 10 Mobile to at least their own hardware, the Surface RT and Surface 2, but also to Windows RT devices in general? Is it a matter of Microsoft not wanting to spend the resources on it since only a few use RT devices anyway, or is there a more technical reason why it could not be done? Is it technically possible to sideload W10M and have it run on a Surface 2 instead of 8.1 RT?

I force quit the process and rebooted the pc. It then showed me a message asking me if I want to do it now or later (step 3). I don't know what the problem was but it seems resolved now. Thank you for the help.

Like I said I haven't begun the install yet. I'm waiting to get to the screen where I tell it when I want to install...

Is it to be expected that a force quit will have destructive consequences?

It would seem I am not allowed to cancel. Not within the actual windows update screen either. I could force the process to shut down but I fear that would wreck something.

Damn... I've been at it for about an hour and a half now. What should I do? I don't even know how to shut it down.

The thing is I'm not installing yet. As a matter a fact I'm not going to do the actual upgrade today. Windows update initiated the download autonomously. The Windows 10 app thingy said 3 things would happen after I completed the download: 1. Wait for the device to get ready 2. Accept the license agreement. 3. Choose when to upgrade. I'm stuck after #2.
