I'll second the Archer C7 for the Router. It's a great box. I recently picked one up for my Fiancees mother's internet, and it works great.
For the modem itself, I'm partial to Arris/Motorola, myself. Their modems have always been rock solid to me. I also really like the Thomson Modems too. I have the Thomson DCM476 I believe:

The SB6141 appears to be cheaper than the older SB6121 too, which is a nice bonus.
