  1. Maybe you are right. I'll give the BIOS thing a go. Thank you for the input Simon
  2. Yeah okay - I'll look into that. It's a pretty clean machine even if its getting old, but right now I'm hoping for something like that Maybe I should take the whole thing apart, check it thoroughly and put it back together step by step. Was just hoping for some well known generic issue. Simon
  3. I've tried going without OC on CPU. The BIOS I've tried on, and which im running right now is version 3503, the previous one was 2801. No difference. Simon
  4. The manual only mentions it shortly, not giving any useful info. Believe it was something like CPU may not be installed correctly. I will have to look it up again. The CPU has never been removed since I installed it 5 years back. And when I get the thing booted, it works like a charm. I haven't made any hardware changes recently. Its coming from pretty much nowhere as far as I am concerned at the moment. Simon
  5. It doesn't post..Fans just run at max speed and I get a red CPU_LED on the mobo. Simon
  6. Ahh I forgot that one - Yes I did that yesterday. Thank you for reminding me. Simon
  7. Hey people. The last couple of weeks i've had to clear the CMOS pretty much every time my PC has been shut down or has gone to sleep. I've done it by either removing the mobo button cell battery with the PSU powered off or with the CMOS jumper. And it has worked. But its super annoying. The build runs fine. No stability issues whatsoever. I have done a couple of MEMTEST64 runs and no issues. I've had bad ram before. These seem to be in order. No heating issues either on any parts. I also did a BIOS update to the newest version (beta build). In general drivers are updated pretty regularly. CPU is OC'ed but issue remains even when its not. I need some help locating the issue please, be it software, hardware or voodoo. Intel 4690k (h100i cooled) Asus Z97 AR Kingston HyperX 1866MHz - 4x8GB Corsair RM750 PSU Gigabyte 2070
  8. Your input is much appreciated!! Really! Thank You So Much For Your Help!! I think I will keep my things as they are since I dont experience problems-, just thought 0 rpm would awesome. Both my CPU and GPU overclock like Mother!"#¤R's - so I am really satisfied. I have a nice chassis and great cooling, and if I should change anything it would be for vanity purposes only. Thank You For Being Awesome - Stay That Way!!! #keskparane
  9. You mention 'dual bios' - I have run into this term too - also when talking about my card (THE 970) - I think it has something to do with the 2 different kind of DVI PORTS that are oe the card. In the 'readme' instructions there are 2 sets of instructions - one for for each kind of port
  10. I looked at NVFLASH earlier - but for some reason this made me less secure of what I'm doing - didn't look totally legit to me - but I also a safety freak, In some cases. And when things start to look like DOS my inner child pretty much takes over and tries to protect this 33 year old 185cm 100 kilo man, which under normal circumstances are quite capable of taking care of himself, I fold like a banana under a phat chick.. I HAVE looked a NVFLASH - and it didnt seem to work - I will look at it again... You mention 'unlocking' the bios - a term a havn't run into - please enligten me, should this be the thing I need.
  11. without knowing much it also looks like a 1070 thing, not 970 - but my main talents lie in different fields
  12. But I know my card is F2 at the moment - and I know the route to take - If only I could flash the damn thing - (taken out of context this sounds weird)
  13. This is what I am hanging on too - that there is a 'timeline' that I have to respect
  14. I will then at the moment you are my only and best source
  15. Very good! I normally use DISPLAY PORT for my main monitor and a HDMI/DVI cable for secondary monitor. I have read somewhere that DVI should be used - I have this cable on hand and ready, and both monitors support this. But I still have one concern. After having read a bit on the issue I have read that I have to follow a certain 'timeline' if you will - and since my BIOS is 'only' F2' I have been advised not just to jump to F42 for example
