Antibull reacted to Sintezza in Plugged the powerSwitch wrong
Translation:
You could try to disconnect the psu.
And then take out the bios battery to reset the bios.
But yeah big chance that you killed the board.
You could try to rma it.

Antibull got a reaction from Typho in Qpad-QH90 vs HyperX Cloud 2
The qh90 doesn't even has a sound card. But the cloud 2 do have them and have virtual 7.1 which is good for FPS. I would go with the cloud 2.

Antibull reacted to zMeul in two new EVGA video cards, the VR edition - GTX980 Ti
source: http://www.evga.com/articles/00981/evga-geforce-gtx-980-ti-vr-edition/
EVGA just launched two new video cards dubbed VR edition:
GeForce GTX 980 Ti VR EDITION GAMING - Part Number: 06G-P4-3998-KR GeForce GTX 980 Ti VR EDITION GAMING ACX 2.0+ - Part Number: 06G-P4-3996-KR what makes them "VR edition", well .. this stuff:
so, they basically moved one HDMI port to the back of the card to allow a passthrough cable to a 5.25" front bay unit, unit that delivers two USB3 ports (from your mobo) and one HDMI
but the funny thing is, most of the cases today don't offer front bays anymore yeah ...
I would've done an external box

Antibull reacted to ciobanulx in IN WIN G1 vs IN WIN PREMIUM (modded In Win 909)
Hi guys!
Here's some of the gear in the case and also the red frame is back in.
You can see a custom acrylic plate where the reservoir is mounted with a pass-through fitting going down into the main compartment and also a cover for the PSU area with the In Win logo on it
Fill port in the top
MNPCTECH grill on there just for the cool look. It goes with the bits of silver on the motherboard
Thanks for checking it out!
Cheers,
Alex

Antibull reacted to Grrizz in [Build Log] Tranquil Stream - A Submerged Streaming PC
I'm hoping to get time to finish it up over Xmas/new years, the last 6 months or so have been one thing leading on to another so down time has become the proverbial carrot on a stick for me but the plan as it stands is to have all my ducks in a row going into the new year - finishing one project this year and be on the more chilled out end of the slow 2-3 year ramp up of the next project after Xmas
In regards to this build I have a new idea on how to manage the bubbles too which I'm looking forward to trying as I was a bit worried just running a bubbler might be a bit overpowering visually, if it pans out it should be a bit like an under water stream with a few less aggressive bubble jets working their way through the stones... hopefully it'll workout like what I have in my head at the moment

Antibull reacted to Wintershrinkage in Project Razer
Day 36 - Paint time! I was time for me to get the razer logo's all primed and painted as well as finish up the last few metal plates that needed to be spray painted. Believe it or not this was the most frustrating thing to do ever!!! The way i painted these logo's was prime, let dry over night, paint, let dry over night, and then said any flaw's that may have came up. That may sound easy but for some reason after I sanded the imperfection's then painted over them again I was left with a spider effect and it looked terrible!!! So I found out that the paint I was using was reacting funny to the primer so I had to change the brand of paint I used. Buuuuut that didn't solve the problem, it still spidered. So after many days I finally was able to get them to look perfect!!

Antibull reacted to rjfaber91 in MELANIE, or "Beauty Is on the Inside: Internal Surgery on an Unintentionally Estonian Girl"
Enough of planning, buying and installing... Let's paint!
A prevailing theme throughout this update is my regrets about not taking more pictures during the painting process, because this way I don't have as much to show you as I would have liked. For instance, it would have been lovely to have some pictures of the backplate and fan mount as they were when I took the card apart, but I didn't think to get my camera out until I'd already applied masking tape and put on the first layer of primer.
As it says in the subtitle of the picture above, I really do like that Gigabyte made everything on this card disassemble-able. I have owned enough ASUS products to know that they love sticking things together with glue, so it's a breath of fresh air to see a company use screws everywhere, even if some of those screws are absolutely minute. Things like the Windforce logo would otherwise have to be masked off, whereas now all I had to mask off were the chromed screwholes in the backplate and the foam pads underneath where the fans would go on the fan mount.
I really spent all day painting this thing, and with the quickly drying paints that I got, I managed to apply three layers of primer on the backplate, two layers of paint and five layers of clear varnish. There's a bit of orange peel, but with such an amount of clear varnish, that is to be expected, I suppose, and I'm not really that bothered by it. The white paint for the fan mount doesn't have clear varnish applied over it, but I did apply five layers of primer to that, because putting white paint on an originally black component would otherwise look terrible.
"But Robert, the blue shade on this photograph is much lighter than on the last one!", I hear you cry, and you're not wrong. It's difficult to get the full scope of the metallic effect of the blue paint on camera, but the combined effect of the metal flakes and the five layers of high gloss clear varnish does give it as mirror-like a finish as you could possibly expect on a paintjob like this.
On another note; I obviously had to replace the thermal compound because I took the cooler off, and replacing the standard gunk with Noctua NT-H1 kicked another two degrees of the idle temps, so that's not bad at all.
And with that, the first phase (and the most expensive one) of this build is done!
Phase 1: Graphics Card
COMPLETED
Obviously, the shiny new look of the graphics card is rather being ruined by the piss-ugly cables of my Antec EA650 power supply, so that's going to get replaced next...
