silver_tounge reacted to Pachuca in cant install drivers
I assume you run as admin when doing the install? It could be a registry issue that's causing the failed install. Maybe search online for a solution if it's a known issue, otherwise, a fresh reinstall should fix this problem too bad there's no quick fix for it.

Which make and model is your GPU? We will be releasing custom backplates for all GPU's soon, there will be a selection to choose from or we can work together to make a design you like.
Let us know if you have any questions.

+1! I hate it when people record a long video and then edit it down to 10 minutes. I work a 10+ hour shift at work and don't want the cliff notes version of entertaining videos!

silver_tounge reacted to GoodBytes in Your first mods
Hmm... I gave 3 warning points to my computer back in 2005 when it was spamming me with silly error messages. Reminded him who is the real mod around here.
Ok boring joke aside.
My first mod, if when I got my GeForce GTX 260. My computer was in less than 1 year old Antec SOLO case, and this is when I upgraded my GPU. I got my new GeForce GTX 260. I got it, and I was all excited like a little kid. I opened it up, open my case, and than just about to insert it, and boom... case doesn't have enougth clearance for the GPU. Ooohhh my face, when I went "NOOOOOoooooooooo!" in my head, was probably priceless. If you don't remember, this was back in the days, where we started to have extra long GPUs. I didn't measure.
So, the next day, I run to the hardware store, and got the cheapest dremel tool I could get (15$ new), and a blade to cut metal. Yes I kid you not. I still have the tool. Yes, it is a no name brand, if you wonder, and yes it sucks. It will often get jam when I was cutting the metal due to lack of any torque. Oh the fun... but I didn't want to spend more for something I'll never use again, and I didn't.
So, anyway, I simply cut a piece of the case, use an old broken cable segment which I cut and remove the internal wires, just to have the rubber casing, to used it as protection to not scratch/damage my graphics card as I put it in, let alone cut myself.
Ah, that was fun. Silly and tiny mod, but fun.

silver_tounge reacted to Scionyde in Best gaming chair?
I actually rather like my Maxnomic chair. I do think they're slightly overpriced, but I bought mine on Black Friday for $50 off, and so the $350 price tag seems about right for me. I don't know why people say they're not well built - the cushioning is harder than you might expect, but foam density is pretty important if you don't want it to flatten over time (learned that lesson with foam mattresses/toppers). So, unless the faux-leather cover is prone to flaking, I have no trouble seeing this thing hold up for quite some time.
Steelcase and Herman Miller are exceptional, no doubt, but they're also tremendously expensive. The Steelcase Leap and the HM Aeron are so pricey that I'm not sure why you'd try to compare them to something from DXRacer or Maxnomic - it'd almost be like comparing a 970 to a R9 Fury X.
For a while I was tempted to buy a used Aeron, but once you throw in the price for an aftermarket headrest (a must-needed feature IMO), the price was too much for my comfort. Now if my chair breaks down in a year, that'll be something to consider, but I've noticed nothing so far that would lead me to believe that.
Either way, the important thing is to try out your seat before you buy.

Just like stated above, the best chair is the one that makes you feel comfortable after many hours on it.

I don't think they'll work. Internal USB headers physically and electrically only support two physical USB 3.0 ports. If you have the money, pick one up and try it. I'm interested in seeing if it'll work.

silver_tounge reacted to Necrodead in How do I shorten and sleeve fan cables
To shorten them you'll need new crimper pins, a special tool for crimping them, and then all the sleeve you'll need. 3-4mm for fan cables, and heat shrink. Oh and the tool for removing the pins, although something narrow and metal also works.

Honestly shortening them is so much work I don't even do it, and I sleeve all my own PSU wires. I would just sleeve them and find a place to tuck them away.

silver_tounge reacted to Lord_Karango17 in How do I shorten and sleeve fan cables
You could either use a crimper, or just cut the wire somewhere near the fan, shorten it, then resolder the cable. After that you could just cover it with a sleeve/ braide of your choice.

I see a "boy who cried running out of ideas" around here about every 3 months... Yet we keep making better and better videos and the audience keeps growing
Our content is about answering a question - and while many of our viewers are well beyond the understanding level where these questions are relevant, many new viewers could find content like this extremely useful, because they simply don't have the experience themselves.
Not every video will appeal to everyone, and not every video will be Scrapyard Wars (or videos of similar quality and entertainment value). But trust me, we are FAR from running out of ideas.

silver_tounge reacted to noaboa in Corsair 780t PSU Shroud
Hi Guys
So yesterday I took screwed off the parts, wich I wanted to spray. I took everything and went to my grandfathers paintshop and started. Before I talked to him in order to get a template for me and a friend of mine. (the top one is mine)
so here we are after 3 Minutes of painting and maybe a preperation time of 15 minutes and the time it needs to dry.
After we take of the paper wich covered the rest of the side panel, it looks like that.
So after it dried we removed the foil. And voila. It's not perfect but it looks awesome and I'm proud of myself
I didn't just paint the side panel. I also sprayed the mesh covers.
I wanted to have strips on it. So we covered the surface wich should stay black with special tape.
after we were finished with that, we sprayed the mesh covers.
Then removed the tape.
So then we're almost finished.
I also painted a part red in the front and back.
I didn't take a before pic so heres just the after.
We have finally painted everything. So I put the parts back on again.
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN
I PRESENT YOU THE RED MONSTER.
And here one from the back
Sorry for my bad english
And please dont judge my photoshop skills on the last two pics.
I hope you liked it and thanks for reading/watching/looking at my pics.
All pics made with my awesome iPhone 6 Plus
I will also upload a video on here if that is possible and if not one on Youtube which you can watch if you like to.
I will also post updates on the PSU Shroud when I get it or make it.
