My GTX 480 SLI could heat a house (it certainly did my room in no time! Would raise it 15*C easily after gaming for a bit, esp with the door closed its even worse.)

IcarusLSC reacted to Arika in Where do files go when you hit "Delete"?????
delete: they go to the recycling bin
shift+delete: they are written over as being "blank" and can technically be recovered until that part of the disk is rewritten to

Do they have separate plugs? If so, swap them around on the motherboard and see. If not it'd be the case most likely...

Unless you know what you're doing, I strongly recommend to recycle that PSU. The fact you're asking this question in the first place indicates you'd best not tamper with the insides of the PSU.

No offence, but PSUs are dangerous (potentially deadly) things in the hands of an experimental layman. Yes I know it's tempting, but there's a reason it stopped working in the first place.

They are nice to have so you don't lose info/fragment drives/spike your equipment/etc so you can safely shut down your system if you lose power.
Ideally you'll need to get one big enough to cover what you have plugged in at load though fwiw...

🧐 Man, I just can't get over how woefully underdeveloped CP 2077 is. The lack of attention to detail is appalling when compared to games like GTA 5. Next time one of those CDPR fan bots wants to claim they are on Rockstar's level, show them these videos. They don't even hold a candle to Rockstar Games. 🙃

IcarusLSC reacted to Riccardo Cagnasso in Is NVIDIA desperate (or scared)?
I know that everyone is screaming at the new ultra powerful nvidia 3*** series. And I understand that the hype is high and they will sell a ton of cards in the next months.

But I speculate that this is some desperate move or at least done by fear. We know that this choice is no due to some unexpected technological breaktrough. Nvidia kept back the power creep of their gpus in the last years and now they decided not to and to put these incredibly more powerful cards on the market. From their perspective this means that they spent an asset that they had in the form of "kept back" technology.  Why did decide to do that?

A possiblity is that they know that AMD has something big in the workings. Or maybe they don't know that but they fear that it might be a credible possibility due tue the fact that AMD has likely received a lot of resources by the Ryzen success and skyocketing of stokcs.

Think about this. AMD has the best consumer CPUs and the best server CPUs. We know that they can create good professional GPUs, even if they need to work on support by software and features. What if they can, even for a single release, put out better gaming GPUs? AMD could basically own the whole computing market and turn into a titan with near infinite resources. This will be a nightmare scenario for Nvidia.

I said not before September and likely later, and I meant it. This issue is fixed in the next update, which has now been released by IPS. I have spent a significant amount of my free time over the past few weeks preparing for the update, and have made good progress, but there are a lot of large breaking changes in that update which require a significant amount of time to resolve, and this is not my day job.

This topic is now locked. If the issue recurs after there has been a topic in Forum Information announcing the update, please report it again, but until then there is no further value to be gained from continuing to ping on this topic.

Welcome to the SSD tier list.

SSD or Solid State Drive is a storage device containing non-volatile flash memory, used in place of hard drive because of its much greater speed. Unlike a hard drive, a solid state drive doesnt have any moving parts. It has two main components - A flash controller and  NAND flash memory chips.
More information on solid state drives can be had from here..
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solid-state_drive

This guide differentiates SSDs in different tiers based on their DWPD, sustained writes, controllers and NAND types.

NOTE - MANY MANUFACTURERS ARE REPLACING THE KEY COMPONENTS OF SSDS (CONTROLLERS & NAND FLASH) WITH INFERIOR COMPONENTS WITHOUT INFORMING THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THIS LIST IS BASED ON THE COMPONENTS (CONTROLLERS & NAND FLASH) THAT THE SSD CAME WITH  AT THE TIME OF LAUNCH.
