    Hey Guys! I'd like to get some opinions on the following topic: My current system runs a EVGA GTX 770 2GB with an Asus 1440p screen. The 770 is definately showing it's age and the VRAM is quite small for this resolution. I don't want to blow a lot of money on the new RTX series right now and that's where a friend of my mine comes into play. He will buy a new RTX card and offered me his used GTX 970 - no fixed price yet, but I might get it for 100-125€. This seems to be a reasonable price for little bump in performance and VRAM-capacity, but I am not 100% sure if I should take this deal or save my money and maybe get something like a RTX 2060 some time next year. Right now I'm leaning towards the 970... Any thoughts? (Yes I know, there will always be a faster card in the future. It's just to get an Idea, because I never bought a used GPU before.)

    Take a single GPU instead of two... Get a GTX 780/Ti for team green or R9 290/X for team red - what ever you like best

    You should get an i7 if you want to render and stuff... @vern021 has a good list of parts but maybe you can add a 250GB SSD, although you are already at your limit (this will add about 120-150$ but will make your PC quite a bit more userfriendly)

    Maybe you should think about a 6 core 2011 CPU -> This should help you quite a bit in multithreaded render applications.

    My old GTX 570 reached over 80°C with the stock cooler under load. It might be a bit loud, but your fine. If you feel confortable tweaking your card, you can try out a manual fan curve e.g. using MSI Afterburner.

    Congrats! After about 3 1/2 years of watching your videos I can say: Linus, you and your team built an amazing community and continue to produce awesome videos with growing quality. But somehow you still manage to stay very personal and human (yeah, don't know how to say that). Thank you! And to the lucky winners: Have fun with your stuff!

    I have got 770 SLI myself and I'd not recommend it. You are dependent on scaling plus two cards are louder, use more Power and produce a lot of heat. Get a strong single card. This also makes it easier to upgrade later. GTX 780/Ti is a great choice - or the 290/X if you want to go AMD (but remember to get a model with a great cooler) Just as an add on: I'm going to sell one of my cards, soon, because I game less than a year ago and performance is still good with one 770 ( A friend of mine wants to buy it and right now I can get quite a good amount of money for it). Also I am tired off all the heat and noise in my little room. Later, e.g. a year from now, I want to buy a DX12 GPU and only have to find a use for one and not to cards then.

    How did you mount the rad? Maybe the case vibrates and amplyfies the noise? In this case some rubber washers could help... In my case I really can't hear the pump outside the system.

    Yeah for me it sounds like the fans. I guess to get less noise you have to run them under 1000rpm. BTW; even with my NF-F12s (not a full speed ofc) I can hear fan noise because the densely packed finns of the rad create quite some turbulance. A noisy pump usually rattles, and in your video I did not hear that noise my faulty unit produced, so it should be ok.

    Download Samsungs Magician SSD tool. You can make a lot of Settings with it, benchmark your SSD and speed it up with Rapid Mode, which caches your drive with RAM.

    This really sounds like the built in auto overclock function. If you can't turn it off, you have to do it in the Bios... Do you know how to get there and factory reset? But if you reset it, you have to make sure the other settings are ok. EDIT: Well if you want to know what its running at set it under load with prime, while you have CPU-Z and realtemp open. But I belive it's NOT runnung stock anymore...

    Actually there are a LOT of things I like about the phone, with the batterylife being the most importaint one (I constantly run out of battery over a heavy day with my own). About dbrand? I guess their skins look amazing, but making this review possible AND giving this Z2 away is even more awesome! Good luck everyone!

    Uhhh, FurMark is quite a heavy punch for your GPU. Also 3min is a bit short. Download Heaven Benchmark or Unigine Valley, let it run for 20min and then check your temps.

    And you can get a slightly lower end CPU and put your money in a 280X or something

    I'd like to have some more Info, but 55° is nothing. GPUs run at about 80°C on stock coolers -> so no problem there. And If you mean that there was no improvement; maybe your paste was fine and in this case nothing changes. TIM swap can help (when there is a bad mount) but does not have to...

    These temps are way to high, especially with an H100i @ stock. Ok, if you reseated your CPU block it could be, that your Pump has a problem. Unfortunately I had this issue myself a while ago: My System ran just finde but suddelny my CPU reached 100°C. I checked my mounting + fans and noticed that my Pumpunit was getting really hot and also one of the hoses, while the other one was cold and also the radiator. Fortunately Corsair have got great customer Support... I'd say do this if you haven't: Check, that your volts are fine (maybe use CPU-Z in Win) -> Do a new, clean mount with new thermalpaste, let your fans run a full speed and test again. If you still get this kind of temps see if there is something strange with the unit, like in my case. Then take the stock cooler and look at your temps again. Let us now the results. EDIT: 1,23V is not low, but I have my Ivy runnig at about 1,27 (delidded with Liquid Ultra paste, which I assume should be about the same improvement as the DC chips) and I get something like 80°C-85°C MAX under Prime with my H100i, Noctua NF-F12s at 1000rpm and 22°C ambient -> just for comparison
