  1. PCPP is weird sometimes. My CPU cooler, for example (see sig) is perpetually listed on the site without price data, even though it is in stock at a number of other websites (Amazon, Newegg, NCIX, etc.). For a while there were duplicate entries of it, all of which were also broken. For the most part it works though
  2. That's what made me vote for you over him. I was the tiebreaker and I did a double take when I realized his build wasn't even valid.
  3. Congratulations @CowsGoRoar for winning Contest #54! #55 is this way --> http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/223651-build-off-55-music-creation-mid-range-build/
  4. Welcome to the 55th LTT Build-Off! The rules and previous contests can be found here. Budget: $1,300 Speakers/Headphones: Yes Mouse: No Keyboard: No Monitor: No Submissions: September 27th through October 3rd Voting: October 11th through 16th This is NOT a gaming-oriented build. Sound quality is very important, so pay attention to your choice of speakers/headphones and amp/dac/soundcard. Also, keep storage in mind (FLAC files, for example, can get pretty big).
  5. Voting is live for the X99 Challenge! http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/215557-build-off-54-x99-workstation-high-end-build/ Also, one addition to the rules:
  6. Good build + write-up, just please paste in the BBCode Markup so everything is formatted properly. Thank you for putting a link for the K5000 too.

I don't know of anything like PCPP, but I've looked for laptops for friends at XoticPC.com and their prices are pretty good.
  8. Humble Indie Bundle 12 looks great! I just bought it.

Yus! Got Flappy Bird working on my TI-84 Plus C…

I downloaded Flappy Bird for my calc last year but i never installed it. That's probably a good thing...
  10. Please format your post properly (using the BBCode Markup). Check the rules for details. Also, gaming is not a good use of X99, and I won't count your build if that's all it's designed for. Happy to clarify. Guideline #2 says: @KPZ211997 Please pick one of your builds and edit out the other. They both look like nice options
  11. Judging by your post count, I assume this is sarcastic. Just in case it isn't, you don't actually need to build the computer, just put together a part list for the PC you would build. (Hence the "No Building Required" build-off thread.)
  12. Congratulations @MEC-777 for winning Upgrade Path Part 2! Here's Contest #54: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/215557-build-off-54-x99-workstation-high-end-build/
  13. Welcome to the 54th LTT Build-Off! The rules and previous contests can be found here. Thank you @ddbtkd456 for suggesting the challenge. Budget: $4,000 Speakers/Headphones: Yes Mouse: Yes Keyboard: Yes Monitor: Yes Submissions: September 14th through 19th (cutoff moved from Thurs. to Fri. due to the contest being put up late) Voting: September 20th through 25th Build the best workstation you can using the new X99 chipset. You can optimize it for video editing, 3D rendering, or anything that could harness the power of these new chips (please specify the use of your build).
  14. I bought these after Logan's review, and I love them. I'm no audiophile, but they are great headphones for music and gaming.
  15. If it weren't for this channel I could never have developed my hobby of PC building and tinkering. Thank you so much LTT crew for the great content and three cheers for this great community!
  16. Try a free no-ip.com account. It gives you a hostname and redirects it to whatever your IP is.

God fucking damn it my neighbors are out again.…

My neighbor's kids are outside right now, literally barking at each other, which is making their dog crazy, which is making my other neighbor's dogs go ballistic. Fun times...
  18. I would be interested but, it can't just be a basic cheap one with a logo slapped on it. Either make it super fast, or rugged, or (preferably) one of the drives that also has a micro-usb side to plug into a phone (although linus hates micro-usb, so I doubt that will happen).
  19. Voting is up for Contest 53! http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/206607-build-off-53-upgrade-path-part-2/
  20. 1.9 MB/s for longer downloads, shorter ones usually don't break 1.8.
  21. Yep, definitely. You don't need to keep your proposed upgrades from the last contest either.
  22. Congratulations to @TopplesS for winning Upgrade Path Part 1! An amazon code with be coming your way shortly Part 2: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/206607-build-off-week-53-upgrade-path-part-2/
  23. Welcome to the 53rd LTT Build-Off! The rules and previous contests can be found here. Thank you to @MEC-777 and @f22luke for suggesting the challenge. Budget: $500 for upgrades Speakers/Headphones: No Mouse: No Keyboard: No Monitor: No Submissions: August 29th through September 4th Voting: September 5th through 11th This is Part 2 of "Upgrade Path," and you will therefore need to upgrade the winning entry from the last contest, which was made by @TopplesS: Essentially, this means that you have $500 and need to use this PC as a base. Transform it into a killer gaming rig (but do you have enough watts in the PSU? Or do you need larger storage for more games? Upgrade at your discretion). Anything not upgraded with that $500 should come directly from this previous part list. Please tell us why you picked certain upgrades in your post. Thanks and good luck!
