  1. Did that and nothing happened, still on that screen in the photo above.
  2. My bad! My laptop is an Asus VivoBook Pro 15 N580VD. I can’t seem to find any tools like this in my BIOS. No popup, just boots on that screen.
  3. Hello. Today, when I opened my laptop it just booted on this screen (I’ll attach a photo below). Yesterday, when I last used it, everything was normal and no Windows updates were installed. No matter how many times I turn it off and on or how much I wait, nothing seems to change. Anybody got any idea on what may have caused this and how to fix it? Thanks in advance!
  4. Budget (including currency): ~1156 USD (~4800RON) Hello. I'm trying to build a gaming PC for a friend. Below, I'll list the components. Is the overall build good for gaming? Are the components compatible with each other? Also I'll need some case fans recommendations. Thanks in advance! CPU: Intel Comet Lake, Core i5 10500 3.1GHz GPU: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1660 Ti OC 6GB GDDR6 192-bit Motherboard: GIGABYTE B460 HD3 PSU: Corsair CV650, 80+ Bronze, 650W RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16GB DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Dual Channel Kit HDD: Seagate BarraCuda 1TB SATA-III 7200RPM 64MB SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 1TB SATA-III M.2 2280 Case: Deepcool Matrexx 55 V3
  5. Do you by any chance have the battery saver on? I've had a similar problem with the display brightness when the battery saver was on, but it seems like it resolved itself after a Windows update.
  6. Apparently, my CPU temp is too high, like, in Overwatch main menu it skyrocketed to 95 celsius lol
  7. Hello! So today I replaced my HDD and installed a new SSD on my Asus VivoBook Pro 15 N580VD and everything went fine. After I've screwed the carcass back on, I tried powering on the laptop and nothing happened, not even a light or something. I thought that maybe I haven't connected the battery accordingly, but after I unscrewed every screw off the carcass, I tried powering on the laptop and it worked, it truned on, everything was fine, the BIOS detected the SSD and HDD. Even installed the OS. What I've noticed since then is that sometimes the ventilators are too loud, when they shouldn't be and maybe sounding a little strange-ish, and this wouldn't happen before. So now I'm using the same laptop without any screws in the carcass, and I'm asking you what could cause this strange problem. Thanks in advance! Edit: I'm sorry if this isn't the correct forum category to post my problem in, but I didn't find another.
  8. Thanks both of you for all the help so far. My laptop is an Asus VivoBook Pro 15 N580VD
  9. So what you are saying is that i can't do anything about this problem, and just live with it?
  10. It has just been cleaned, but i ll try to update my bios again
  11. It's the 4gb model. A while ago, like 5 months or something, I tried to update my bios with Asus EZ Flash, everything went ok but might have been a dumb choice. Do you think that might cause this problem now?
  12. Hello. A week ago i had my laptop cleaned of dust and the CPU thermal paste replaced and in the last few days i noticed in XTU that my cpu thermal throttles at around 80 clesius. This only occurs sometimes and only in XTU, while in HWiNFO64 everything seems normal, except "IA:PROCHOT" turning to "Yes". To give you an example when this happens, today i was playing Skyrim and just as soon as my save loaded i was experiencing horrible freezes every two seconds and audio lag. From what I've read on other forums, those freezes might occur because of the VRAM. I am aware that this problem might occur in Skyrim because of the mods that i have installed, but this happens in other games too that aren't necessary very demanding, like Overwatch with everything on low . So my question is, what might cause these performance problems and thermal throttling at only 80 celsius? I'll list below my system specs, also i use a CPU undervolt of 85mV.
  13. So what you say is that i shouldn't bother with undervolting. But what do you suggest i should do in order to fix thermal and power limit throttling?
  14. Thanks for answering. What exactly does that mean, "7700HQ is power starved and no amount of undercoating can fix that"?
  15. Hello. This is all on a laptop. So I did a benchmark with Intel XTU and I observed that power limit throttling occurred. I've had throttling, both temperature and power limit, problems in the past (and still have) but only when my package temperature reached like 90+ celsius. Now my package temperature was at ~75 celsius. Now I don't know if that is normal. I'll put the system specs and the undervolting settings that I've been using for a while. Could somebody help me? Thanks in advance. Undervolting: Core voltage offset & cache voltage offset: -0.130 V Turbo boost short power max: enabled & 25.00 W The rest is at default
  16. Undervolted the GPU too. It shows great improvements but at times it still thermal throttles. Now the next thing to do might be repasting, but I'll see to that. Anyway, thank you very much for everything!!!
  17. How exactly do i undervolt my GPU with MSI Afterburner? "Core Voltage" slide is just black and I can't increase it or decrease it.
  18. I undervolted my CPU and disabled turbo boost, with Intel XTU. It shows improvements but it's still thermal throttling. Edit: I just did a stress test with Intel XTU. CPU Utilization was at 100% but the temperature never exceeded 86 celsius and while gaming my CPU was never above ~~50-60% but it was thermal throttling. I don't know if this is normal or not. Maybe I should try undervolting my GPU (keep in mind that my GPU never exceeds 80 celsius)?
  19. Well, i don't think my CPU temps are okay. While playing Overwatch it reaches even 96 celsius. Nonetheless, I'll try those things and thanks for everything so far.
  20. Well according to msi afterburner yes, it stays at 3.4GHz. Also I don't see any thermal throttling row for my gpu but Performance Limit - Termal, Performance Limit - Reliability Voltage, Performance Limit - Utilization all turned from No to Yes
