  1. Keyboard and Joystick here, but since my Logitech is not the best example I use X and Y axis for pitch and yaw. I even happen to switch roll and yaw in most games simply because I'm used to it that way. Having more control over yaw helps with aiming and since roll is not that important in Star Citizen you'll have no problem putting it on the throttle or even the keyboard for that matter once you get used to it.

  3. 45$ is the base packege with either of the games. If you get the 45$ package with Star Citizen you can get a 15$ add on to have both games, however that add on can only be pruchased by going through the Fly Now button for some weird reason. In the pledge store itself you can find 2 Star Citizen + Squadron 42 combo package for 60$ with either of the starter ships
  4. Squadron 42 is the single player campaign set in the Star Citizen universe. If you ever played a Chris Roberts game before you will enjoy it as it is the spritual sucessor to Wing Commander. The best part is that you actually don't have to spend another 45$ just for SQ42 because if you use the bright, friendly button that says "Fly Now" on the main page it gives you the option to add SQ42 as a 15$ premium. As for you ship selection: you can change you ship as soon as you made enough money in game. I expect you to be able to change your ship in about 20h of gameplay. If you want to support development you can spend some extra dollars and upgrade your ship now, but this will only be possible during Alpha (and maybe during beta as well, no details on that yet)
  5. You should actually be fine. Framerates are still limited by netcode. If you really want an upgrade, get a GTX1060 or a RX480 and you'll be fine.
  6. This weekend is GamesCom and CIG already announced that they will do a free flight, so you can play the game for free for a week. This will be the best way to decide if you want to buy in.

  11. You like privacy, free phone calls and live in the United Arab Emirates? Then you should look out as the usage of VPN or proxies might get you fined or imprisoned. At the current USD exchange rate, that translates to a potential $544521.48 fine. These "crimes" include accessing blocked services like american Netflix, porn or the VoIP functions of most VoIP apps (FaceTime, WhatsApp, SnapChat) Since 88% of the population in UAE is imigrated this is a huge problem for anyone who wants to call home on the cheap. Even if you're just on a business trip and use a VoIP service for business you're already in trouble. As you might be able to tell this has become due to the pressure of the 2 main telecom companies Etislat and du to enforce the usage of their services and make a crap ton more money "to stymie the loss of revenue for the large telecommunication industry." And you thought your ISP is evil. Interestingly enough Skype got unbanned in April due to its lack of encryption just like Etislat's and du's services, so the UAE goverment can spy on you as much as you want. tl;dr use FaceTime and get rekt Source: International Business Times Private Internet Access Blog

  13. Well no, only if they would use you phone number only which Twitter does atm. CIG is using an app based approach wich would force an attacker to have access to you phone, not only you phone number. It would be enough to have malware on your phone so it can be remote controlled, but I'd say that's a little harder to get infested by that if you know what you're doing, than getting your phone number snagged from you.
  14. Free flight now live. Added coupon code and this link: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/promotions/Summer-Free-Fly-2016 If you need a referal code you can get one (and add your own after that) here:

  16. As of now I'd say not before CitizenCon.

  18. Ich muss sagen, ich hatte mit Alternate schon deutlich mehr Probleme, als mit Mindfactory.
  19. This looks awesome. I want one now. Too bad I have spend my money elsewhere, like food and gas.
  20. Once in 60 something episodes + now you can feel my pain when I look at a tech news topic
  21. @kurtstir, @Gyre-Taenn did a great guide on what each of the ships are good for. You can read it here: Also feel free to ask your questions on our orgs Discord server (discord.uoltt.org). It's usually much better to get direct feedback.

  23. You do realize that you're running a crap ton of debug code that will help CIG to iron out exactly those crashes, right? Especially the crash handler that asked you nicely after your first crash to send a report back home should be told to do that automatically, so you don't have to care about it and help to improve the game. If in doubt it's always a good idea to blame Microsoft. I had huge issues back with 0.8 and had to reinstall because of a stupid driver hiccup. Ran like a charm since then. You might as well take advantage of the windows 10 free upgrade if you haven't already and do a clean install.
