  1. There were only 2 dates, one for Star Citizen and one for Squadron 42 probably not very. Here is the full schedule for 2017: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/schedule-report They already outlined the whole feature set for Star Citizen until 4.3 and given their current speed we might see 5.0 (beta, all features implemented) by 2020 We haven't heard about Squadron 42 yet but we expect the first episode for oct '17 at Citizen Con. 980ti should be fine for 1440p solid 60. Keep in mind that the current versin is not optimized and FPS are bound to network performance Edit: at the very top of the RSI website there is a yellow banner which will lead you to a getting started page which will also give you the option for the 2 cheapest starter packs. Keep in mind those are for Star Citizen only. Squadron 42 is a 15$ add on (VAT applys outside of USA).
  2. We had some issues before which may be related to CloudFlare. Try using this link: https://discordapp.com/invite/0ZFgG6Y9m9xdFg17
  3. They didn't bother to implement a proper install and uninstall system yet so everything is kept where you have installed it. So either C:\Program Files\Cloud Imperium Games or C:\Users\[your user]\Cloud Imperium Games just delete the entire folder and the shortcuts on desktop and in start menu and you got rid of it entirely.
  4. this it what it will boil down to. Of course they can just block the domain on ISP/node provider level or seize the ingest server in Frankfurt if twitch doesn't what they tell them to, but I suspect they are more into making monney here and they will just enforce the law on the actual partners that make money broadcasting. Going around a possible block via VPN is a given for us tech savvy people but you have to remember that not everyone is willing to deal with just the slightest extra of effort so it will drive more people away from the plattform as you might expect. unfortunately there is not much choice here either just like your last election
  5. if you operate without a licence you're technically a pirate station but what actually happens from there is not regulated. historically there were 7 pirate radio stations in Germany (not counting those sending from belgium). all of them got shut down by police. Whether or not the responsible parties got fined or imprisoned is not documented well but in all cases the equiment got confiscated. (source) It is entirely possible that Twitch and other streaming sites will be forced to implement a function that will prevent streaming to germany simmilarly to how copyrighted music is geoblocked on Youtube. And again this law only applys to legal entities residing in Germany. Linus Media Group can happyly continue streaming to Germany and everyone else without any restictions (your juristicaion may vary). it would be harder to figure out who you are but technically still illegal. yes but I'd say it's because a) twitch makes their money with broadcasting and b) it is the easiest plattform for streamers to make money on. To clarify things: you don't have to pay a fee Twitch doesn't have to pay a fee Potentially every streamer living or having their media company based in germany will have to pay. Everyone from outside of Germany or Germans that have their media company outside of Germany don't have to pay a fee. Having to pay a fee and not paying it will probably get your channel geoblocked or deleted. How quick that will happen depends on how big your channel is, but I can imagine that the geoblock feature will be implemented pretty quickly and will only be opt-out by sending twitch office a copy of your broadcast licence.
  6. twitch is just the mean to broadcast, like analoge TV, DVB, IPTV. They didn't do anything wrong. This rule is targeted towards broadcasters themself, like Kirchmedia to name one. So a Streamer acts as it's own company here i.e. Gronkh and his company PlayMassive GmbH But this also applys if you don't have a company. In that case you're 100% liable with your own money and freedom.
  7. It's not only the scedule, the law could theoretically apply as soon as you comply with only 2 of the points I mentioned and you already comply with one just by using any of these services.
  8. yes, but it is the same law that applys to both plattforms so it can't be ignored. Edit: Technically DVB and DAB are also a reason as they did not apply to the old version because they were not analoge.
  9. I just looked it up, the inclusion of digital broadcasts like IPTV or twitch was added 19. December 2006 so we had 10 years to prepare source
  10. just to clarify some things based on the fact that I just spend an hour reading the beginnig of that stupid law it's based on. You are a broadcaster when: you have potentially 500 or more viewers (so everyone) you have a scedule (WAN show and Lukes stream would apply) you provide some sort of "editorial or journalistic content" (everything that is not just a silent game walkthrough) you have multiple parts to your stream (i.e. a pre-stream talk and playing a game later) your content is directly streamed and not on-demand (direct uploads are fine, streams are not) you have some sort of advertisement (product placement, shout outs, whatever) this would apply to any other direct streaming like Youtube live, Facebook Live, Periscope, Ustream, Twitter live, ... However this rule would not apply when: your business is not located in Germany (business in France, broadcast from Germany, in german) your Stream is not available in Germany (business in and broadcast from Germany in german, but not viewable from Germany) your content is pre-paid (stream can only be viewed if you pay per stream, a subscription is not ok) but yeah, this is the shit I have to deal with. pdf of current law as of 2016
  11. 90% of GOGs catalog will probably never recieve an update again and you also have the option to just directly download from their site as everything on their plattform is DRM free. Their launcer is only intended for the modern titles which still recieve updates and add-ons.
  12. that's what I'm thinking too. 1 is fine, I might consider a second one if it adds enough value but no way I have 4-5 running. I mean steam, Origin, uPlay, GOG Galaxy, now Twitch which we might see a rebranded one from amazon itself too and I bet you Humble Bunlde isn't far from it's own one either.
  13. They will launch through the twitch app. I already claimed some of the games that came free with Twitch prime and I can start them just fine from their own shortcut but I guess games with more restrictive DRM might need the twitch client to be running in the background
  14. Well it's official now, Amazon is now selling games through Twitch. If you happen to come across a stream wich features a game listed below you can now see a buy button below the stream itself so you're only one click away from checkout. Add-ons and micro transactions for free2play titles are also available. The download requires the Twitch desktop app. If the streamer happens to be a twitch partner they'll receive a 5% kick back from that purchase. Purchases of 5$ or higher will also get you a Twitch loot box which can contain stuff like emotes and things you can put on your profile. Featured games list: I think it's cool that streamers get a little kick back from this and that you get a little useless extra on top but I'm not sure if it is enough to lure me off of Steam for now. I also hope that streamers don't start begging for purchases now. Source 1: Gamestar (german) Source 2: Twitch Blog
  15. from the looks of it it is still the same block (at least the FE) as the Titan XP only with 1080ti engraving and no cutout for the DVI port? I thought about being upset for a second but then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  16. you get the longer screws with the backplate sou you'd have to buy it anyway so I'd try the originals screws in the waterblock first or you'll have to buy them yourself.
  17. the nvidia backplate is screwed in with tiny screws into the screws that hold the cooler to the card. EKs backplate replaces some of the waterblocks screws with longer ones so the backplate is actually screwed to the cooler with the card sandwiched. This basically. same principle:
  18. no, the cooler is held in with screws under the backplate so you'll have to remove it first. I don't have a caliper here but the original screws look like they could fit in the EK block so you could theoretically mount the original backplate but I wouldn't trust my eyesight here
  19. The LTT conglomerate which is the Star Citizen org conveniently reached under discord.uoltt.org AFAIK some of the staff members haver their own servers at least I know about Luke and Colton. I think there is an inofficial one somwhere in general or off topic as well.
  20. yes, and there is also a dutch and german talk with 300+ pages but those are just that one thread each. Before we went over to the discord server there were 3-5 new threads a day. and ixi got tired of moderating all that stuff.
  21. *does *a ask half of the forum mod team including Linus and Luke. The original LTT Conglomerate thread went on for 200+ pages and there were other threads as well which got burried while this subforum didn't exist, so we got this.
  22. Well there's a thread in Tech news already but goes as expected:
  23. Hard to answer. There is a 7 months old PCgamer article that shows that AMD benefits more from vulkan than Nvidia. There is an equally old article from Phoronics that test vulkan vs OpenGL on Linux where Nvidia seems to profit from first party drivers. And there are also claims by Nvidia that they improved DX12 and possibly Vulkan performance by up to 33% on the current 378.78 driver. Unless some reviewer with both cards at hand does another OpenGL vs. Vulkan spring 2017 edition we have no idea. Also by the time CIG finishes implementation we probably have the next generation hardware from both teams anyway so the whole table gets flipped again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  24. wat So "14_Badgers_on_a_stick" can be easily guessed then?

    Back?

adding to the list: regional servers switch from Google to Amazon cloud megamap for super fast match making and loading An actually useful loadout customizer (the Star Marine on is still broken though) Pirate swarm Bennys henge I think even Grim Hex (pirate station) isn't 2 years old now Reliant, Argo, 85x Caterpillar and Vanguard Hoplite flyable Prowler, Hurricane, Polaris, Razor, Terrrapin, Dragonfly, Prospector, Buccaneer concept sales Hornet got the current pipeline treatment Aurora and Cutlass updates in the works Sectrum nobody cares about since it's just a cheap Discord rip off And a bad feeling that we might see SQ42 a bit before 3.0
