Make your own Thread pls.I need help. I recently got a r9 280x gigabyte windforce and i cant play games and watch youtube. I thought at first it was too intense with BF4 and youtube but it even happens with hearthston and youtube it plays for like 30 seconds then just black screens and craps itself. Please help me with a fix for this....BTW Most recent drivers and sttuff and its with a 4690k and 8 gb ram so neither of those should be the problem. PLEASE HELP

All I have is IDE hard drives apart from this one. I might be able to test it with someone else's PC.Can't watch the video.
My guess is still the harddrive, especially if it's already an older one. Maybe you've another one which you can try or you could try the harddrive in a different PC. If it works there, then you know at least, that it isn't the harddrive.

@WinNut PSU?: http://youtu.be/fC4pxPf2Hxchere is a short video. At 19 second is a prime example. Quiet, but you can see that the whole system freezes. My first guess is the harddrive. If it stutters and is also making noises while it stutters, it could be the harddrive that can't properly read the information. Maybe the head gets stuck sometimes or so.
-
For the speaker? It's making my whole system stutter even with out then plugged inIf it's coming from your speakers, that's a bad ground loop.

I'm in the BIOS just now and can't and I can't seem to get this problem. My first guess is the harddrive. If it stutters and is also making noises while it stutters, it could be the harddrive that can't properly read the information. Maybe the head gets stuck sometimes or so.
Does the same happen if you only boot into the Bios and not Windows?

not a "physical noise" like coil whine. Coming through my sound card for sure! What do you mean by buzzing noises? Coil whine?

I have had problem with my PC in recent days. I thought it was the PSU so I replaced that around 20 minutes ago and it didn't fix the problem! The problem in that my PC is stuttering making buzzing noises when it stutters. Extremely noticable in games. Makes Windows unresponsive and won't let me shut down properly. Started happening on Saturday when I got my new CPU (IT DID HAPPEN BEFORE WITH MY OLD CPU!!!) and the problem carried over! Any help would be great! I think my old PSU started to take out my components and such but I'm not sure. I could make a video showing you the problem but I don't know if its health for my PC to even have it running at this stage! Maybe its my Mobo been take out but Idk.

If anyone would like to see here is a link.

OK. Will do tomorrow then (if its still in the shop) with a Corsair Builder series 600w. This has been an ongoing problem but today it has been constant.Well it's definitely good that you checked those things in advance. I'd just replace that power supply then.
-
They are linked. They only happen with each other. Not right on start up but during operation (around 10 mins after). My mouse is OK. I have scanned for Viruses and Malware but nothing worth noting foundThat's not too bad really. I'm more concerned about the stuttering that you mentioned than the buzzing.
-
It is coming through the sound card, nothing physical found.By "buzzing", do you mean coil whine or a low buzz? First check that no fans are hitting cables or the source to the sound (the bearings can make a buzzing sound when old and dry) by unplugging the fans. If it persists after that, try find where the sound originates from. If it is from the PSU, then it's most likely that. If not, then keep trying to track down where the sound comes from.

I'm hoping to get a new PSU maybe tomorrow. The +12 voltage on this one has never been quite right, dipping down to 11.808v today I seen.Well I would say replace the PSU with something better, and if the issues go away, then yeah the crappy power supply was the issue. If the voltage coming out of the power supply has some ripple in it, or is out of spec, then it can cause instability in your system.

Today I started my PC as normal. I noticed after start up that there was some stuttering and a buzzing sound every 5-6 seconds that lasted for around 1 second each. I have a P8Z77-V LX2 and a crappy CiT 750w PSU (that I am hoping to replace soon). I could get a video when it happens next if you want.It is not the CPU because I got a 3570k today to replace my G2020 and the fault carried over! Thanks!

Looks good, still has a warranty as well which is nice.
Reputable seller.
alright. hopefully its still there is a couple of days

How is $184 a lower price than a 3570k ($160+10)you said nominally low price, my bad. You also didn't take shipping into consideration and that's also just the starting bid. It's still cheaper to go with a 3570k though.one like this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Intel-i5-3570K-3-4GHz-/191453865027?pt=UK_Computing_CPUs_Processors&hash=item2c938a2443

i5 4690k = $240
FX 8350 = $150
240
-150
$90
nearly $100.
Watching the video, the two cards were getting pretty close at times with frames.
I would need to get a new mobo if I was to get the FX CPU so I guess I can save money and possibly lose some (not much) FPS but it will be a lot better than what I am running with just now!
-
The fuck?
Since when is an 8350 + Motherboard only $100? Last time I checked, it was near $250. If the OP was to buy a 3570k, it would cost him $200, as he already has a motherboard "$100 less by getting the 8350".
There's no personal preference here, there's benchmarks and facts.
"Let's spend $50 more to get less performance" is basically what you're saying. Good idea.
@Pahddy, yes an i5 will do, Quick Sync is great.
Alright. I'll see what is on eBay on Boxing day or the day after. The i5 will do me until Skylake when I hope to build a whole different system all to get her. Do you think I would benefit in buying a SSD as well for OS and some games with the money saved from not getting an i7?
-
Start watching at 2:40
Up to twice as much FPS especially in the beginning.
Awhile ago you told me your friend had easily up to twice as much FPS in Arma 3.
At 10 fps.
Alright, so I will be better off with a i7, but if I can't get one for the right price will an i5 do?
-
Then I suggest you try to get a 3770k, sure it'll be a little bit more expensive, but it blows the 8350 out of the water in gaming/rendering and you won't be held back in any games, like you will in some on the 8350 (Arma 3 is one of them).
@Fooshi I noticed 0 quality difference between Quick Sync and X264 at 10k and 20k bitrate.
@Sotha Chill even a stock 3770 would be better than an overclocked 8350, and would be the same price by the time you factor in the CPU cooler you'll need to overclock.
I will probably need a new heatsink anyway for with the i7 because I will probably end up buying a second hand one
-
@Fooshi, you say "without an alternative encoder" why not use Quick Sync?
Again I really don't recommend investing into an 8350 if you're mainly gaming and streaming since you already have a Z77 board.
If you didn't have a Z77 board and you would be doing a lot of video editing as well, 8350 might be the better choice, but that's not your situation.
I will be editing but not extremely intensive editing. Just cutting clips, rendering etc...
-
He can sell it on r/hardware swap or something, get some money for the new board.
Probably wont get a lot for it. I was a very low end board when I bought it but it is compatible with the i5/i7 CPUs so I guess I can just buy an i7 for the price of a FX8350 and mobo.
-
8350 is horrible for Arma 3, that's one of the main games the 8350 fails at.
You won't run into any bottlenecks with a 750ti, but you might with a 960, but then again you might not. I'm not sure how the 960 will perform.
I have seen the specification of the GTX 960 and people were comparing it to the GTX 770 so I guess it is a better GPU that the GTX 750 Ti
-
Games don't benefit from an i7 over an i5 most of the time if clockspeed is the same, so I doubt we'll be seeing i7 requirements any time soon.
Anyways, if you got an i7, you'd likely never run into any limitations/bottlenecks in the near future. With the 8350 you'll be running into bottlenecks in many games with a ~970/290 or higher at 1080p.
I have heard about the 8350 bottlenecks in BF3/4 and some other games. I only have a GTX 750 Ti for now (might get a GTX 960 when they come out). Idk if I would suffer from bottlenecks with my current GPU. I play games like ARMA 3. I have a friend with a 4770k and a GTX 760 and he can stream and play at ultra (or at least very high) settings
need help! losing my mind!
