Alurit got a reaction from alpenwasser in Jayztwocent's channel "hacked"
it's not $8000 a month, december is when the advertisement money is at its peak. in january is at it's lowest, according to TB it's down 75% this year, meaning for the same views he'd get $2k instead of $8k. judging by last year's example youtubers are making half as much money per month from january to about june-ish. it would be closer to $65-70k a year, and that's not even salary, but small business earning, different tax rates apply to that, I don't know if in the us it's more or less than personal earning tax so can't estimate on that

Alurit got a reaction from UmarFarooq in Looking back on 2015, Microsoft's biggest year ever
I'm not familiar with windows server but is it like IBM, where they charge you more if you want to use more cpu's with z/OS?

Alurit got a reaction from TrigrH in AMD's Zen will tape out in the next months - this is confusing
it' because they used to send the design of the chip to the fab on a tab, but here's a video of one of the creators of ARM explaining at 5:20

Alurit got a reaction from rattacko123 in That fancy chair in your living room... err, you'll need a license to photograph it
So if I own the rights to a designer chair, put it in the parlament and deny granting right to use, can i effectively make the parlament not available for public video broadcast while it is there?

Alurit got a reaction from Ebojager in CPU's Without Integrated Graphics ?
maybe he has issues with laptops that have both? I've had issues with it cause both are active and had things like some games trying to launch on integrated instead of dedicated graphics. back when I played mincraft it was an issue with mod launchers that launched on the integrated graphics, and had to manually set it to use the dedicated in the nvidia control panel
but it's obviously not an issue on desktop where the 2 gpu don't share one eDP connector and cannot switch dynamically

Alurit got a reaction from masked106 in Price vs Performance 390 vs 970
the 390 is king in price per performance when they are the same price, if one is cheaper than go with the cheaper one
-
Alurit got a reaction from Edgar R. Zakarian in SLI 960'S OR SINGLE 970?
it's not that simple, but kinda, different power delivery, higher clockspeed and we saw improvements in drivers so the 390 came to be an close equivalent card to a 970, but with more than double the vram
-
Alurit got a reaction from don_svetlio in R9 390 Power Ussage
in percentage it is a lot more, 35-50%, since 230-280w instead of 170w, so if you consider what the cards use 60w is what people call a lot more, but if you look at whole system power draw, that 60w is not much

Alurit got a reaction from Technous285 in Zotac announces NEN Steam Machine sporting Skylake CPU, Nvidia GTX 960
if you follow tek syndicate, wendell talks about AMD having very bad driver support for linux right now, as despite the r9 380 being a better card than the gtx960, it's only on windows.

Alurit got a reaction from Ashaira in Zotac announces NEN Steam Machine sporting Skylake CPU, Nvidia GTX 960
so a cpu very close to the perforance of a desktop i3, a gtx 960 that is probably a 2gb one, and a notebook 1tb hard drive, and no windows for $1k. how's is that not a ripoff?
