    dual channel? make sure that you placed them in the recommended slots...the manual usually tells you what slots to populate first depending on the memory configuration.

    judging by their website, CyberPower isn't HP or Dell or (insert OEM name here). I think they use off the shelf parts to build pcs. You should be okay with the same code.

    it worked for me. i've also used the linux live cd option...linux completely ignores windows permissions which is also awesome. so the OP has good options either way.

    i7 would be better for video editing/raw cpu performance. so it's you call if you want to go with the i7 processor. Just make sure you get the full Intel warranty when you buy from non-standard places like Ebay.
