  1. It's very tricky with curved glass, if you are clumsy like that you should stick to flat screens or take extra care of it. feelsbad
  2. Use an app on your cellphone to scan the channels occupied in your environment, if most of you neighbors are in one use the option used the least.
  3. Yeah I need to look into the options you two mentioned, thanks !
  4. 21:9 Is that an ultrawide? I've seen a trend going for ultra wide monitors do you recommend them ? I feel like they have issues with scaling and overall support, I also play competitively a lot and to be honest I've never seen a pro using ultrawide.
  5. Hi everyone, after a faulty displayport cable killed my Asus 1440p 144hz G-sync monitor I'm in desperate need to buy a new monitor to game on, I would also like to take this opportunity to upgrade my old gtx 970 GPU, I was about to pull the plug on this card: https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=08G-P4-3178-KR but then I realized after shipping and taxes it would be a little bit too much for my $1000 budget. Can you help me decide for the best Monitor + GPU combo for games such as Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Rocket League, CS:GO, Apex, Racing sims, etc. I would like to stay above 144Hz and if I can stay with G-sync/Freesync that'd be great. TL;DR : Need 1 monitor and 1 GPU No more than $1000 combined. Live in California with no access to micro center.
  6. I would say go with a 1440p G-Sync monitor, you are gonna enjoy it a lot. Since you have not stated a budget I can't recommend specific monitors because some can get pretty pricey. If you would also like you can google freesync monitors with support for your particular graphics card in this case 2080, they tend to be cheaper than exclusive G-sync monitors.
  7. Used the DisplayPort cable that came in the box with my top of the line Asus $550 monitor, all was well for a few years until a couple of months ago when it went bad and almost bricked my GPU, could not get my computer to even boot until I changed cables. NEVER USE THE CABLE THAT COME WITH THE MONITOR.
  8. Thanks a lot, no, I’m definitely not in bed with Nvidia matter of fact I was thinking about buying a new mobo and switching to a amd cpu as well. I will look into it. Thanks ! Thanks, I will look into both of those !
  9. Hello there, I just ran into some issues where my display port cable bricked my graphics card because of the well known pin 20 power issue. I have about $550 dlls to spend on a graphics card although I would like if I could stay closer to $450. Yesterday I was about to pull the plug on either a 2060 or 2070 from Best Buy taking advantage of their anniversary financing options, today I realized the “super” versions came out. Take in consideration I have a 1440p 144hz g sync monitor. I mostly play competitive FPS and some racing games. Thanks !
  10. I also have a late 12' 13-inch and it's built like a tank, I would much prefer to upgrade the battery and SSD on this one than buying one of the new ones, it's honestly the last decent MacBook pro model. The new keyboards are a joke, so is the trackbar. Just recently I have started to feel the battery not being able to keep juice as it did before, I think I'm either upgrading this or buying one of them XPS laptops.
  11. Hi there, today I was using my computer and I noticed the text in my main display (asus p278q) was blurry, then I looked around some more and noticed that there was a black bezel around all my screen and a white light bar at the top left corner, then I realized there was some screen flickering going on at the left side of my screen like horizontal thing lines going all crazy on the left side. I already tried googling around, also used DDU and clean installed drivers. I don't know if it's my gtx 970 that is causing the issue or if it's my monitor, I bought both back in 2015. I wanted to use a HDMI cable to check if it was a display issue but this monitor only comes with Display Port.

  13. I think that your best bet would be selling on Ebay, if you live in a city you could also try craigslist but not everyone likes that. How much do you want for that 1050 tho, maybe you can sell it here in the forum.
  14. What games are you going to be playing? I recommend 1080p either 144hz or 240hz, If you are invested in competitive gaming that is.
