  1. The jump from 1680x1050 to 1920x1080 isn't that big, you may be dissapointed. I would save up some money until you can get something like a 1440p monitor. I would also just use the 1680x1050 one as a secondary monitor.
  2. I know you can once you own it, I'm not sure about the beta model however. Not like they're going to know if you take a graphics card out and back.

    'Murica

The title pretty much explains the story.
  4. I run mine without any side panels 95% of the time because I'm too lazy after switching a drive or cleaning a fan.
  5. I would buy one for a kitchen Netflix box for $100. Even adding just wired would boost sales 500%. If it has some USB ports maybe there could be some wireless trickery with custom firmware.
  6. Razer Surround is free currently. I used it to play around with it, and it works really well. I would take a good stereo sound over a mediocre surround sound anyday.

    Beats

I would buy some Beats Pro for maybe $80. I would like to have some headphones I feel comfortable bringing in public, and aren't terrible. I feel like Beats are like Apple products, they aren't necessarily bad, it's just the price absolutely does not justify the quality. I would buy a Macbook if they were like $500-700 for a 13" model with Intel HD 4000 and an i5 or something with similar specs. I can't see myself paying anywhere near $1200 for that.
  8. My addons are AdBlock plus (disabled on sites I support), Disconnect, HTTPS Everywhere, LastPass, WoT, Stylish, Reddit Enhancement Suite, Auto Refresh Plus, Web Timer, and Google Mail Checker. I'm using Chrome but most of these are on Firefox or have clones there.
  9. If you absolutely, must, are completely sure, and cannot be talked out of getting a headset, the Siberia V2. I'm just telling you it sounds like crap and is going to break in 10 minutes. When you make another post here asking what headset you should get because your old one broke, this is what I'm talking about. I've owned tons of headsets, and headphones for 1/2 the price and a cheap mic are miles better in every way.
  10. Gaming headsets have horrible build AND sound quality, and are generally overpriced. Just don't get one.
  11. Get some headphones and a mic.
  12. Just wait a bit til something better comes out, it won't be long til you see 50,000 cases appear on Amazon and eBay.
  13. TRAITOR! Tom's Hardware and Tek Syndicate are pretty much the only hardware forums I use besides LTT.
  14. Not running on high/ultra, maybe medium with no AA. 900p is very close to 1080p, just a little bit faster. VRAM doesn't completely make up a GPU, it is important without a doubt, however. You could play at 720p with no AA.
  15. If he's not using a capture card/device than I would go with the 7850. If you want to spend $30 more and get a 7950, the performance would surely be worth it.
  16. Are you going to be gaming at all, or is this strictly a workstation card?
  17. Try Revo Uninstaller. It scans for any leftover files so everything including registry keys, folders, icons, etc. is completely removed. There's a paid version and a free version, the free edition works fine for me, no problems at all.
  18. Thread lock for flaming incoming, I can almost taste it
  19. eBay or Craigslist. Beware of eBay/PayPal fees and general evilness. Also I wouldn't get a 760 if I were you, get the 280X or 7950 if you want to save some money.
  20. Get the cheapest distilled water you can find. Water is water, it can't be any different.
  21. Sell your old stuff. I'm surprised how much money I can get from selling old PC parts and old electronics, I just really want a classifieds section on the forum. I barely post on Tek Syndicate so I feel that I would be more trusted here.
  22. I think so, I was using and am still using a GTX 690 and wanted to get the most out of it. Now I have 3 of them and can barely drive them on medium. I didn't want to become that one guy who has a single 1080p 60Hz monitor and can easily handle 120Hz with their setup. I'm looking to buy some 780 Ti/Titans/290Xs in the future.
  23. If you have good enough hardware I think that the speed difference doesn't justify the bugs and incompatibility. If you have older hardware it might be worth it. I still think Windows 7 is better.
