Pancake reacted to ZetZet in VR Build - i5 9400 good enough? 600w PSU for 3080 Ti?
I don't know how much of an issue it would be, but one rail couldn't handle the load and I'm not sure plugging in both separate rails into one GPU is smart. Definitely would not be something I would be comfortable in recommending. 600W for the 3700X and 2080 SUPER should be perfectly fine.

Pancake got a reaction from Hackentosher in Ergochair 2? Worth the $350
This thread is very old, but I figured I would update. I have had my Ergochair since June and it has been FANTASTIC. I find it much more comfortable and better looking than the Aeron's I tried at various locations
I wouldn't hesitate to get another.

Pancake reacted to minibois in "Best" Controller?
An Xbox One controller is my go to for gaming on the PC.
Uses normal Double A batteries, or can be used wired. I personally find it more comfortable than an Xbox 360 controller, which would be my next best option.

Pancake got a reaction from UCLA in Any reasons against me getting a ASRock X570 STEEL LEGEND WIFI AX AM4
Is PCIE 4.0 something that will come in handy in the future for GPU performance? I plan on keeping the system a long time

Pancake got a reaction from UCLA in Any reasons against me getting a ASRock X570 STEEL LEGEND WIFI AX AM4
I am building a new machine, and I am a bit out of the loop. I will have a AMD RYZEN 7 3700X, starting with 2 x 16GB DDR4, maybe going to 4 x 16GB
All I need is 2 M.2 slots that do NVMe, a x16 slot for a GPU and another spare slot of some kind for a 10G SFP+ NIC. The on board LAN must be Intel, and it must have Bluetooth. I have a few ASRock boards in the house and they seem to be alright with no annoying things going on
This ASRock board seems to fit the bill at $190 - ASRock X570 STEEL LEGEND WIFI AX AM4
Any reasons against it? I won't be doing much if any overclocking. I don't see anything that jumps out that might cause me to want to get a $300+ board.
My only concern is the small fan on there, but It looks like they pretty all have the fans

Pancake got a reaction from Ben17 in Looking for the BEST 140mm white fans
Silence is key, case will be a Enthoo Pro M Tempered Glass
Looking for 3 x 140mm white LED fans of the highest quality
Any recommendations? The Corsair ML140's seem to get good reviews, but seem to get darker as speeds get reduced?

I don't think I have ever shared this here
I decided to mount a second rack in my garage instead of running a ton of cables over there, hopefully someone finds it interesting

IP Transit, I don't actually pay Cogent directly though. I pay for a redundant 10G link and they route it through the best connection at the time

Awesome setup, very clean, I like it!
I'd completely forgotten about RIPE Atlas Probes. I remember wanting to get one a while back and then never did. Just submitted my application
